I am wearing a white polo shirt. I have never felt so frumpy in my life.

I am sure I have seen women look nice in polo shirts of all colours. Okay, not stunningly glam, but perfectly fine for a normal day.

I look fucking horrendous.

Are there polo shirt do's and don'ts?

Is there any way to rescue the situation, or shall I shove it to the back of the wardrobe and Never Speak Of It Again?

I have two, one is ugly and shapeless and good only for riding.

The second is a joules fitted number which I love (stood in front of the mirror), i go in below my boobs.

I suppose it does make me look like a pussy pony club mum, but that's what I am! ;)

I think they look like work uniforms for example for leisure centre,pre-school or delivery driver

Consider this the TOWIE guide to wearing a polo, works every time.....

  1. cant be a cheap one from a supermarket has to be a decent cotton in the smallest size to fit boobs
  2. It must stop just after your waist and before your bits. To high you look like you've nicked your teen daughters, too low and you are heading into looking like a bloke
  3. Neck can never be done up. If poss a touch of top part of cleavage in sight is best.
  4. collar may be stood up, but works best with either a pony tail or a short hair cut
  5. Never ever wear with baggy pants/Linen trousers. Either slim jeans, Jhodpurs or short shorts only. (Bemudas make it look like cruise wear for a certain age.....)
  6. shoes look best if plimsolls (Converse All Stars etc) as trainers take you into PT teacher territory....
  7. Mascara and lip gloss must be worn to again emphasise you are female not a scary half man type PT teacher.....
  8. your shoulders need to be thrown back for a straight back to emphasise boobs. This also makes your tummy look smaller so great dual effect.

Happy polo wearing peeps! :0)

alpinepony you have the get out clause...you are commonly found around horses, you may own, wear and probably look good in a polo shirt.
Jhodpurs are the only correct trews to be worn with the polo shit

Whilst having a brief pit stop in Morrisons the other day, wearing my standard issue physio number complete with CSP badge, and woman with a clipboard bore down on me gushing "that's a lovely top....Ralph Lauren?" Hmm

DH wants me to get a polo shirt with his company logo embroidered and I'ves said I'll only wear it if it's one of these fitted ones.

Bonsoir · 26/06/2011 07:21

When DD was a baby, DP bought her a pale pink Lacoste polo shirt. I hated it!

jugglingwiththreeshoes · 26/06/2011 16:13

Mammonite - sounds pretty bad on a number of levels - though I have sometimes worn a green fleece with my DH's company logo - they give them out free with subscriptions to the magazine he works on. I do try to avoid though and stick to the similar one we have without logo. Is it his own company in your case ? Otherwise it seems def. beyond the call of duty Grin

jugglingwiththreeshoes · 26/06/2011 16:16

That one you linked to isn't too bad BTW - but then the model looks tall with small boobs as LQ said !

Mammonite · 26/06/2011 23:24

It is his own company, so in my interest to advertise it. But I am not tall and I'm a G cup, enough said. But the oblong ones the "blokes" wear are bad, very bad.

Bandwitch · 27/06/2011 11:01

I had to wear one (in a work situation). I felt like a dumpy, pale pink, d team hockey player in it (after the match).

5feet3plumpbooty · 18/10/2018 22:47

For work they just started making us wear polo shirts. They're thick and dark red...mine is too long...XL in the shirts....i look frumpy in this disaster of a shirt...

5feet3plumpbooty · 18/10/2018 22:50
