Outfit A or outfit B? (Or neither!)

DuchessEm · 05/05/2011 11:04

My Dad is getting married in a couple of weeks and I have had an outfit ready for about 5 months, but I tried it on the other day with my new accessories and I'm just not sure it is right any more. So after a shopping trip I have come home with a second dress that is very different from my first one and although I love it, I am not entirely sure it is right either! I have trouble finding dresses to fit as I am tall, shapeless and flat chested, so these are the only 2 that seemed to work.

Can you please help me to decide which dress to wear. I have put photos on my profile page and I'm hoping they are clear enough for you to see the dresses. I still need a hat or flower for my hair, but can only decide on this once I know what dress I am wearing!

So... outfit A or outfit B?!!

TIA Grin

Dress A is fab(and you are not shapeless-have a fab models figure so stop fishing for complimentsWink). I actually know someone who is wearing that same dress as a bridesmaid! I would go for nude or gold sandals(not silver!).

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2011 19:42

Purple, looks fabulous!

Elliptic5 · 05/05/2011 21:40

Love the purple dress - really suits your figure.

DuchessEm · 06/05/2011 08:39

Right, definitely wearing the purple, then!! DD says I look like a flamenco dancer (not sure if that's good or not!) and showed DH last night who says he likes it too. Looked a bit horrified when I said I'd be needing new shoes and bag to go with it, though! Wink

Thanks again, everyone! Smile

DuchessEm - Just spotted your outfit A in this months Essentials magazine - they've put it with red accessories/red lips (looks lovely)! Also colour on the opposite page (cobalt blue) looks like it would go nicely with it (so don't have to stick to nude bag/shoes)!

Eglu · 07/05/2011 21:02

THe purple is really lovely. I love that layered look.

DuchessEm · 07/05/2011 21:05

Thanks for that, Applecrumble! Red sounds amazing! Will see if I can get hold of the magazine to have a look what they've put it with! Smile

Thanks, Eglu! I wasn't sure at first as it is so different to what I would normally wear, but thanks to all you lovely MNers, I'm going to go with it and I'm looking forward to wearing it! Smile

Definitely A! Love the colour & it looks lovely with your figure. Though I do like the other dress too. Lucky you to have 2 choices - I inevitably struggle to find one thing I like when I need an outfit for a special occasion!
Bet you will find some fab accessories to go with it too. Great when things work out well isn't it!

Bridie321 · 09/05/2011 11:34

You look great in both. I'd defo go with the blue one - but not with black shoes. Go neutral or daring.

ggirl · 09/05/2011 11:54

slightly dull but a bargain

DuchessEm · 10/05/2011 08:33

Wow, even more replies! Grin Thanks for all of the links to shoes and bags! I have managed to get some really nice nude shoes from TKMaxx yesterday, very similar to the dune ones that Cashmere linked to. Now I just need to find some sort of handbag, although quest for my accessories has been halted due to the Bride's crisis with her outfit and headwear! Think it is all sorted now, but we had to exhaust all avenues and there is definitely a gap in the market for mature brides. But that's another thread! Grin

Thanks again, everyone! Smile
