Where is everybody???

OP posts:
vinestein · 15/05/2011 15:28

Hello petit! No it wasn't from zara, was from a little shop with no website but is sleeveless but quite loose and ties at waist, just above knee length, love the colour though.

I am so unfit I don't even have trainers to do the shred in Shock how bad is that, I think I need some I remember having loads of pairs and giving them all away some time ago due to my total lack of exercising.. might stop off at sweaty betty if I get time, I used to love that shop, pre-DC induced lethargy!

notyummy · 15/05/2011 17:45

Lovely links Vin. Great to hear from you.

That is fantastic inch loss Petit! I follow JM on fb (sad.....) and I know she loves a few (too many) drinks and suffers hangover hell too! Is it wrong that I like her a bit more for that...?!

blossoming · 15/05/2011 18:09

It has got to that point on a Sunday when I can't wait to be back in routine! Dh says I have 'doms' notyummy. About to investigate JM on fb too.

Hi vin, good to hear from you!

petit Please don't Jillian it was me! She's scary Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 15/05/2011 18:47

don't tell...

petitdonkey · 15/05/2011 19:02

Oooh JM on Facebook!!

Am making matters worse now, babysitter has just arrived as I can't be arsed to cook so off to the pub for a quick dinner which will no doubt be super healthy....

redllamayellowllama · 15/05/2011 20:07

Thanks for the cardie tips ladies, I shall investigate further...

Petit 3 inches is a truly excellent loss! Well done.

My shred-fession is that I don't Shred at weekends. Quite frankly, I can't be arsed. But, I am doing an extra week to make up for it. Shred-heads where do I go from here, by the way? I recognise that I now need to exercise regularly to maintain my current size/shape (which I'm really happy with), but not sure I want to Shred at 6 every morning for the foreseeable future. Anything else that will maintain my size, maybe not every day?

Lovely to 'see' you Vin, KM stylee dress sounds lovely.

Lovely afternoon with our pals - I helped out with their DD who is a month older than DS for about 6 months when they were 12-18mths and the relationship the two of them have now is magical. They play beautifully, even when arguing; they kind of regulate themselves. One of my reasons to be sad about moving away as they just adore each other.

rufus101 · 15/05/2011 20:12

God, I can 't wait to get to bed. Was at dinner in a friend's house last night, and rolled in the door at 3.30 am. (I kid you not!) Don't feel hungover, and did a 7km run today, but boy do I feel tired. My mum was staying with us, and hence we had no pressure to get home and relieve the babysitter. So just kept chatting, and sipping and nibbling.
I'm very impressed with the 3 inch weight loss from Shred. I must do it again. I did it once last week and then failed to follow through.
Anyway will slink off to bed in about an hour hopefully, and be full of the joys for the week ahead by tomorrow!

redllamayellowllama · 15/05/2011 20:24

Hope you get a good night's sleep rufus. Frankly, I'm impressed, I may have momentarily fallen asleep on the sofa whilst our guests were still here yesterday.

Have just spied this navy Cardigan at Uniqlo, where my favourite ver car die is from. What do you think? Is it gong to be too chunky and shapeless on?

blossoming · 15/05/2011 20:29

redllama, you have to keep it up! There is no easy way to look good and keep healthy. I tell dh it's a full time job. Mix up level 2 and 3 or get another DVD. I do 6 week 6 pack aswell. Sorry!!

I feel tired just hearing about your late night rufus. (Must get out more!)

redllamayellowllama · 15/05/2011 20:46

How long have you been doing it every day for Bloss? Do you think I could get away with, say, every other day? I shall look into ordering 6w6p too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/05/2011 20:49

Evening!

Today I have mostly been channelling Liz Hurley - am wearing white jeans with red h&m hasbeens and went to watch Rio with eldest child and ate a Liz H oat bar and refused all offers of popcorn Smile

In shopping news - have bought a lovely mocha coloured strapless jersey dress from the white co (not online yet) and it has pockets which I love on a dress.

Also sorted out my wardrobe so have big pile of stuff to ebay.

However interesting conversation with DH last night when I was trying on various stuff as he now thinks I'm dressing 'too elegantly' rather than as mutton as I used to Hmm

I do find the dressing wisely when nearing 40 a challenge.

Also slightly worried that my natural inclination is to be slightly too groomed/done and am veering into scarey newsreader territory.

Rufus - lordy lordy - 3.30am!! Respect.

Bloss - I have that boden cardi and its very useful - prefer it with dresses to jeans.

Am contemplating a brora cropped cardigan as find them very useful and warm and gosh its got chilly again.

But as spending mucho money on house re-wiring etc should be curtailing purchases really.

Fritzi - I am not a fan of missoni unless its their scarves.

Carciofi - ooooh its getting close now - so exciting!

Everything - you sound as though you're doing so well at the moment and love how much you're out and about on your bike Smile Give me a shout next time you're down my way.

Red - when are you moving - am definitely up for meeting you and Plum.

Oh and I also need/fancy some nude or gold wedge sandals for summer - for wearing with dresses - anyone seen any?

And have also realised after mass wardrobe cull that I just don't do skirts anymore - its dresses or jeans really but years ago I used to wear skirts all the time - strange!

redllamayellowllama · 15/05/2011 20:58

Hi MrsCB. Have missed your posts v much. Did you dress DS in Little Lord Fauntleroy stylee attire?! I love Liz, but sheesh, the things she makes poor Damian wear.

DH offers equally helpful wardrobe commentary, asking today how I can be 'Euro Breton Chic' one day and 'Middle-aged Hippy' the next. This is largely my fault, as I enjoy telling him the look I am aiming for each morning (please note, this is tongue in cheek).

I too, can't remember the least time I wore a skirt. Odd.

Big move likely to be late July/early August and will be very keen to meet up.

blossoming · 15/05/2011 21:42

Just lost a post somewhere. redllama, it's coming up to a year that I've been doing the shred. I do it 5 days a week starting on Sundays. I often can't do Tuesday evenings, so do Friday's instead. I never do Saturday. I find it addictive, well that and the compliments I get from DH!
Love the sound of 'euro breton chic'!

Hi MrsCB. I loved your comments on the white jeans thread. I have a white denim skirt, but it's the only skirt I have now. I do like it with a pink t-shirt, but I have always found skirts hard to style, probably because of my shape. Dresses much better.
jimmy choo have a range of gold wedges (sorry, was just going through the catalogue when I read your post!)

moragbellingham · 15/05/2011 21:59

red, I know it's LE but this for £10 is good for summer. Just size down. Or Figleaves?

OllieWollieWoo · 16/05/2011 07:44

Right, DH has taken DSs to school and I wil shortly be sitting down to do 3 hours of Dutch homework - zzzzzzzz!

MrsCB love the sound of your new WC dress - will keep a look out online.
Morag Lands End is one of those sites I always forget to look at but there are some hidden gems on there - their Canvas range here has some nice dresses and sandals for example. (I thought I was going mad - was clicking on their main website and getting all the frumpy usual stuff and was sure I'd seen more Boden-like items when I last had a look - its the so called Canvas range - worth a look!) Also has great swimwear for kids (got DSs some great rash vests)

Hope those of you who had late nights over the WE are not suffering this morning - I find the after effects of a night out last until Tuesdays these days!

blossoming · 16/05/2011 08:18

Ooh I'm an aunt again! Eight days late but born at home to my brother and his lovely (young, beautiful) partner. Really pleased for them.

OP posts:
notyummy · 16/05/2011 08:44

Congratulations AuntyBloss!

OWW-Dutch homework does sound a bit dull. I have an ENORMOUS work 'to do' list that I am currently putting in priority order (which is code for procrastinating over...)

Weather here has finally broken and given us some rain. I am actually pleased. All the grass was dying and the ground was rock hard. We have had literally nothing bar a few drops since some date in March.

notyummy · 16/05/2011 08:49

Meant to say, good to hear from you Mrscb. Liking your Liz Hurley work!

pickledsiblings · 16/05/2011 10:03

Congratulations bloss's DB and young, beautiful partner. How lovely to have a little baby around at family gatherings.

Hi mrscb, you sound like such an MN old-timer on that white jeans thread Grin. Glad the house is going well, it must be so nice to have your own place after renting.

Loved the Saturday night shenanigans. Just had a quick look at the 'bawbag' thread and think I may need to revisit it with a glass of vino in hand.

Vin, great to hear from you and good luck with your big decision. Is the purchase of a big bag that fits folders etc a hint to which way you are swaying?

I am attempting to be more like NY organised and currently have no less than 10 piles of paperwork on the floor. Better go and file it quick before it all gets scooped up into one lump again.

blossoming · 16/05/2011 10:46

I have sinned. Just licked the fairy cake bowl. Pretty sure that's not in any of my books....

OP posts:
carciofi · 16/05/2011 11:06

Congratulations, Aunt Bloss! I'm sure licking the cake bowl doesn't count.

Oww, good luck with all your homework.

Vin and MrsCB, nice to hear from you both.
MrsCB, how about these from LK Bennett?

I love white jeans, I even have a maternity pair.

Petit, you do sound organised! Just need to check it fits over my shoulder.

DD is in nursery so I am going to read a magazine and have a scone before collecting the whirlwind. She told me "quick, look at my tummy, my sister is moving" this morning. :)

OllieWollieWoo · 16/05/2011 11:32

Bloss if its any consolation, I sometimes make cupcakes just so I can lick the bowl afterwards Shock
Congratulations at becoming an Aunty - it a boy or girl?

Phase Eight has 20% off for a week - but Bloss maxi dress is out of stock. Boo.

blossoming · 16/05/2011 12:44

It's a girl. Their first is a girl too. She's almost 2. My sol wants loads of kids. I feel sorry for my brother, he's older than me! Does anyone else feel they just can't take the noise anymore??

Made lamb and spinach curry for lunch with leftover roast lamb. Dh home and has suggested I walk back down to town as dd sleeps as penance for bowl licking incident.

OP posts:
redllamayellowllama · 16/05/2011 13:04

It's obligatory to lick the bowl isn't it?! Congratulations on being an Aunty again, lovely news.

OWW hope you've survived your intensive Dutch h/w.

Morag, good shout on the LE cardigan. I've never even heard of them, so am unaware of any faux pas I may be committing, but at £10, why wouldn't you?

Ooh - if you're around, how comfortable are the Carvela heels you bought (and hello, how are you? etc etc Wink)? They look lovely, but I'm wondering if they are daywear-suitable for me? Spied these wedges while drooling over yours and wondered if they may be appropriate? Perhaps a bit fussy for daywear, but I need something a bit more 'directional' (did I really just write that?) to wear with coloured skinnies. The plain black version of yours may work, if I can walk in them.

Pickled and NY hope you're getting on top of your to do lists.

Have just eaten far too much for lunch after slaving over a nice meal the 3 of us could eat, which both DCs summarily rejected. I felt I had to eat more so as not to waste my efforts. They are both asleep now and I can do little more than look at links.
