I haven't as yet submitted to the full beard and elasticated waistband trousers. But heck, it's hard isn't it? I absolutely love clothes, make-up, and all that shit.... but I am becoming more and more interested in my garden (not a euph). Last night I went to the garage to buy milk in my gardening clothes.

Anyone else going through the same thing? Have you any tips you can share?

MrsFlitterSnoop asics gave me planter fasciitis, I changed to Nike but had to stop running. The first thing that helped was Birkinstock sandals, in the winter I use their insoles.

It doesn't matter what fish oils you use, omega 3 is what is needed and a lot more than what the bottle says, I take 3000mg a day.

minieggfannomore · 26/04/2011 10:38

I havent bought the shoes yet either. Also need a strap for iphone (so can listen to C25K podcast) and some sort of outfit.

Plan to shock the neighbours run in ancient harem sweat pants and one of DH tee shirts (big one).

ZZMum · 26/04/2011 10:48

WWWY - Iuse my ancient iTouch for the C25K - it works!

bigTillyMint · 26/04/2011 10:59

I bought the shred DVD months ago, but I have yet to use itBlush

Having done very little exercise for 2 weeks, my legs have been feeling it in the gym yesterday and today.

zzmum what do you mean about using your itouch? Is it an app? I have a shiney new Ipod touch....

BecauseImWoeufIt · 26/04/2011 11:01

I found an old bum bag that I ran with - it's one that you can fit tightly to the body, so it wasn't flapping up and down all the time! I put the iPhone into that, along with my house key (on its own, not a great bunch). And tissues. I wish had been carrying some water actually, as I could have used a drink when I finally gave up!

I ran in my gym t-shirt (a long one that covers up the tum nicely) and my Champneys track suit bottoms (light fabric) - that seemed to work fine.

AnneinEdinburgh · 26/04/2011 11:16

I am going to start the C25K this week too - new boulder holder required and probably new shoes (how did my fet grow half a size when I was pregnant - that is length as well as width due to extra gunt and weight?). If I get up at 6am I can run first thing and additional bonus DP can deal with the early morning 'I don't waaaaaaaant to go to nursery and I don't neeeeeeeeed to pee' wailing - can't be bad! Grin

Anyone else doing in in Edinburgh?

ZZMum · 26/04/2011 11:20

I have downloaded the C25K app onto my ancient iTouch - this is the programme that gets sloths like me into the gym and running (wobbling in my case) - really does work and I mentioned it for WWWY as she asked if you can use the touch rather then the phone!

noddyholder · 26/04/2011 11:28

Swedes2 · 26/04/2011 11:28

I like this as you use your own music ...

Bonsoir · 26/04/2011 11:47

School run started up again today and I have already done 6km on foot. With another 6km before day end! I think that's as much as I can manage.

I feel better already Smile

BalloonSlayer · 26/04/2011 12:39

Can I join?

Am 46 and look like a 50 year old who has had a hard life.

I am shredding and dieting, but someone said the other day "Oh have you lost weight?" and I BEAMED, and said "oh thank you!" but she added "Your face looks thinner."

Sad

All I need is a thinner fucking face! I look like Dot Cotton as it is!

ZZMum · 26/04/2011 12:51

I am also joining - need to get to 5K for Race for Life in 7 weeks plus the big M is looming - overnight I seem to have developed the fat arms and bingo wings that I always heard people talk about but never thought it would happen to me.. now I have that horrible fat around armholes in sleeveless tops and stuff spilling over bra ...

Also, how come my freckles are now age spots? any one any idea on how to get rid of them?

aLegonEachCorner · 26/04/2011 12:59

It's a pain in the arse, dieting at "our" age. I want to lose weight off my rear, tops of thighs and stomach.....but I lose it initially from my top bit, so start to look drained (in the face) and my chest disappears and I get those raggy lines across my breast bone and THEN......lose a bit from the bottom half.

What can you do?

My teeth are sensitive. Got the toothbush (have had electric one for years) and the Sensodyne and, have stopped rinsing after teeth cleaning or, just swiping a bit of the toothpaste over my gums.....but still they are very sensitive.

Today, after a coupla late nights and a few glasses of red over the Easter weekend, I look ten years older and just want to lie down (am 48). God, it hits all at once, doesn't it???

AmIAPayne · 26/04/2011 12:59

I would maybe introduce some cycling/power walking into the running regime, variety is always good.

I try and do 1/2 hour in morning and 1/2 hour in the evening most days (6 out of the 7) My Dh thinks I am obessive, but I have a family history of illnesses for which being overweight is a major contributory factor. Breaking a sweat is my aim.

Now that Easter the chocolate feast is over, I hope to get my waist down to 28" am currently 30" (I am 5' 9").

AmIAPayne · 26/04/2011 13:03

Sensitive teeth can be (according to my dentist) down to over brushing with too hard a bristled brush.

It is also part of aging, receding gums as kerrym said up thread!

I have literally spent hundreds on my teeth, as IMHO there is nothing more aging than bad teeth.

aLegonEachCorner · 26/04/2011 13:13

I have good teeth and I know they "hold up" the face, as it were.....it's just the sensitivity. Ouch!

Am lucky.... my smile is one of my best features!

Bonsoir · 26/04/2011 13:20
