I haven't as yet submitted to the full beard and elasticated waistband trousers. But heck, it's hard isn't it? I absolutely love clothes, make-up, and all that shit.... but I am becoming more and more interested in my garden (not a euph). Last night I went to the garage to buy milk in my gardening clothes.

Anyone else going through the same thing? Have you any tips you can share?

kerrymumbles - the Créaline range is great for all skin prone to sensitivity/redness. I have a cream called Créaline Riche (a moisturiser) and also one called Créaline AR for redness. I cannot recommend the eau micellaire cleanser, Créaline H20, highly enough.

Blackduck · 25/04/2011 14:46

oh memory loss thing - hope you are right KM - I find myself struggling for the right words and it is so depressing. I looked at myself this morning and thought I need to get rid of the tum and I want to get back into the clothes I have on the rails (work clothes even - nothing special!) So might join the run thing, or looking at the gym at work

cyb · 25/04/2011 15:16

Afternoon fellow Crepeys!

Ok tinted eyebrows last night

Had a very interesting email from Leah Hardy Beauty journo (via Twitter)all about ageing/botox/alternatives etc. She asked whether my hair too dark for me which is veh aging. I had dyed it chocolate brown last week which of course turned out BLACK

Soooo walked into local salon this morning, chatted to girl and from 11.30 until 2 was foiled, tinted and hey presto it looks fab, I love it.

A goldeny mid brown, very fine highlights all over. Has taken away blocky harsh dark colour.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 25/04/2011 15:23

Hair sounds lovely cyb - what style is it? what did Leah Hardy say about botox

mittenkitten007 · 25/04/2011 15:32

Crepeys!! why how dare . . .

cocolepew · 25/04/2011 15:32

Do none of you pee yourself when you run?

I've been peri menapausal since I was 35 (on and off).

I'm now 42 and well fat. BUT I've been diagnosed with a metabolism problem, I'm insulin resistant (next stage diabetes Shock). I've put 2 stone on since september and have gone on the low GI diet. I lost 5lbs in 4 days which I think was probably fluid. I don't look so puffy now.

I have the arms and shoulders of a cage fighter because I lift a lot in work.

I live in cons and jeans but now the nice weather is here I'm into my linen trousers and, erm, cons.

If you take omega 3 at bedtime it helps to burn fat.
I'm not very wrinkle but suffer with black rings under my eyes.

teahouse · 25/04/2011 15:35

Omega 3 taken at bedtime helps to burn fat - wow, is this true and if so.... sign me up ;O)

cyb · 25/04/2011 15:36

corny I havent had it cut, just coloured. I'm trying to grow. Its a sort of flicky bob I suppose, trying desperately not to look like local newsreader

I told Leah Hardy all about my skin dilemmas and concerns she said there were LOTS of other things to try and botox for me probably wasnt the answer( my hollow eye sockets and shadows are my BANE)

She said eyebrows V important also are eyelashes, I think I've still got your email, I'll foward it to you, DM me if your address changed

RoseCampion · 25/04/2011 15:37

Hello lovely Ladies, can I step out of lurkdom and join in?

I am 44 (45 in Soon) and have been peri-menopausal for 7/8 years and on HRT for 2.

The HRT has solved a lot of my probs, fog brain, night sweats etc but it hasn't stopped everything from sliding downwards.

My arse now resides somewhere at the back of my knees and no amount of industrial shapewear can haul it back into place......and thats not the worst cos my pelvic floor is nearer my shins than my pelvis Shock

I use a Tua T'rend on my face though...it's a bit like slendertone for your face. I didn't think it had done much until I stopped using it, then I realised that the permanent hang dog expression was back so I am back to using it regularly again. Of course my DH is Grin about this as he gets much hilarity from the weird and wonderful faces it makes me pull and says it's better than watching the telly Hmm

I'm going to do the c25k too, even though the last time I did any running a P.E kit and a very shouty teacher was involved Grin

cocolepew · 25/04/2011 15:37

My woo woman told me (and she knows everything) it's very good for dry skin and hair. Me and my mate tried it and we now have the hands of a 20 year old.

Sort of.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 25/04/2011 15:42

forlorn hope's just started an anti menopause S&B thread Grin In denial!

cyb · 25/04/2011 15:42

corny have emailed you

cyb · 25/04/2011 15:43

She's flaky in her own way Wink

LadyCornyOfSilk · 25/04/2011 15:43

okay will look

bibbitybobbityhat · 25/04/2011 15:44

Corny - here is Leah's opinion on botox.

She looks like a woman of 46 who has taken care of herself, always lovely clothes etc. No sign of a gunt either.

theDudesmummy · 25/04/2011 15:44

47 here, not sure if I am menopausal or not (take minipill and don't have periods). In the process of losing 10kg pre- and post-baby weight, 4kg to go and feeling happy that I can now fit in a lot of my clothes from about 5 years ago. I suppose they are all pretty timeless/non-fashion orientated things as I was already old as the hills before having the baby, felt long past caring about fashion!

I hate gardening, won't have anything to do with it. I dye my hair, eventually gave in as couldn't keep pulling out the greys.

cocolepew · 25/04/2011 15:44

Never mind wrinkles, how do you get rid of whiteheads?

Spidermama · 25/04/2011 15:44

Fantastic thread! Just skim read and am book marking for bed time reading.

I buy gorgeous designer dresses second hand on Ebay wear them every day. Mind you, it means I have some outfits which are strictly for indoors only. I have been caught in these with no make up before and I think the contrast is stark.

Hoping for some tips from this thread.

LadyCornyOfSilk · 25/04/2011 15:45

thanks for the mail cyb Smile

noddyholder · 25/04/2011 15:46

hello spider!

noddyholder · 25/04/2011 15:50

I think leah has been having botox for years and so the upside of that is after all those years of not frowning her face is lovely and smooth even without it. I noticed that after one lot the wrinkles that return are much less deep. I am thinking twice a year til I'm 50 and see what that does. I saw a freind today who has been having it for about 4 years and she looks amazing no frozen look at all and her dh thinks she looks so well because she cycles everywhere! He has no idea. Saw my mum and sister yesterday and although at xmas they didn't realise I had had botox and my mum wouldn't believe me they both admitted I didn't look as well as I had then!

Ooo lots of new Crepeys. Hello.

I was going to say that I don't really need to lose weight. That was until I read Kristina's post. [deluded] I'm a half inch taller and a stone and a half heavier. That said I'm not so bothered about the scales just need to change my shape a bit.

With that in mind I ran for 40 minutes this morning. Looked like this ----> Blush until about midday.

WhatsWrongwithYou - up the resistance a bit on the cross - go slower but with more effort.

cocolepew you need Tena Lady.

cocolepew · 25/04/2011 16:09

I've already had the op, (jumps up and down in white trousers) I was just jealous of you lot running seemingly, pee free.

RoseCampion · 25/04/2011 16:10

Kerry

This is the website Tua T'trend but I bought mine from QVC as a) it was/is cheaper and b) they have a 30 day money back guarantee. It's a bit ££££ but I think it definately works.

It makes me look more awake iyswim. I bought it because I was starting to see my mum looking back at me in the mirror Shock. My face had started to hollow and my non existent cheekbones had disappeared. After using it for about a month I went to my hairdressers and he asked me where I had got my cheekbones from Grin. I think it has lifted my upper eye too.

I find it quite easy to use....just do it whilst watching the telly and if i forget DH reminds me by asking if I am doing my gurning anytime soon Hmm
