Of course you are right, I'm going to wear the dress. If anyone makes a remark, I just say my friends from the Internet told me to wear it Grin.

ollie I love batwing tops! The only nod to eighties' fashion I can bear Smile Let me know if you find something in taupe or navy.

pickled That skirt will look fab on you! When are you off on holiday?

petitdonkey · 13/04/2011 18:24

Hi Ladies, I might be wrong but was the MOAMU near Marylebone? If it was, can anyone recommend a good hotel in that area? Actually, it doesn't have to be there but we are meeting friends in July and would like to stay in a part of London that we don't know so well (used to live in Waterloo) in a funky/stylish not too expensive hotel!! (not too much to ask eh??)

Any recommendations gratefully received x

Fleecy · 13/04/2011 19:21

NY is good at recommending good hotels that don't cost too much.

pickled like your skirt and vest.

fritzi you know marsha is right - wear the dress, stuff the lot of 'em and their boring, sensible clothes.

petitdonkey · 13/04/2011 19:38

Thanks, hope she spots this.

fritzi - definitely dress up, they will only be envious of your fabulousness!

AntPants1 · 13/04/2011 20:09

frizi dress up!!!!!

wideawakenurse · 13/04/2011 20:15

petit What about the hoxton hotel? Always gets good reviews, and very much in trendy Hoxton. Lots of things to do in the area.

AllBuggiedOut · 13/04/2011 21:08

Evening all. Have been trying to keep up, but in the holidays it's just so hard! But hope everybody is having a good break from school etc.

Has anybody tried White Stuff maxis this year? Thinking of trying this one; 'tis a good colour for me... Thanks.

petitdonkey · 13/04/2011 22:03

wideawake - that looks perfect! They have a £1 sale tomorrow which has to be worth a go, if not will book it anyway. Thanks so much!

ReineDeSaba · 13/04/2011 23:37

Nan hope you are having a ball in Valencia, had my hen 'do' there (henzilla, moi!)

Blossoming hope the sun shines for you in Rome,it did for me when I got engaged many moons ago(not to DH though Blush )

ReineDeSaba · 13/04/2011 23:47

Fritzi glam it in your MOAM frock, you can definitely pull it off!

AntPants1 · 14/04/2011 07:22

reine good Zara haul. I have a very similar top in fuchsia. I tried on the really pretty birds tops you linked to but the notch neck line did not work with my 34Fs a real shame as it is really pretty IRL.

Your link to the sandals just comes back to the next maxi by the way ( maxi is really nice!)

Sorry for double post. Don't know what happened there....

blossoming · 14/04/2011 08:08

Morning all! DS is fit for school and despite the fact I have such bad sciatica I can barely walk, I am off to Chester, with a list as long as my arm!
Back later. Woo hoo!!

I will join all the people telling Fritzi to dress UP!

Wideawake - I would second the recommendation for the Hoxton from Petit - it was one of the places we looked at for the MOAMU, but was unfortunately booked up.

Another one is the Andaz Liverpool Street, which looks lovely and has fairly reasonable rates at the weekend because it caters to a lot of business travellers during the week.

I stayed in the Westminster Park Plaza recently, which was v nice and whilst not boutiquey trendy, actually had a really buzzing bar with all sorts of people dressed both up and down.

Lots of lovely links from Zara - I think both Zara and Oasis have some great stuff this season. Quality can be a variable, but overall some nice things.

Speaking of Zara - I got these sandals on Tuesday. They are v nice and DH has also pronounced them 'cool' - although they do seem slightly higher than 3.5 inch heels, which he was slightly dismayed about! I have decided that what I need with them for the whole Charlie's Angels vibe is some dark blue flares. Zembo had some lovely ones at the MOAMU that I think she said were from TS - could you tell me what cut they are please Zembo??

I did Jillian's 'No More TRouble Zones' for only the second time every yesterday Bloss and am feeling slightly achy today!

Emo76 · 14/04/2011 08:45

bloss shop through the pain! shop through the pain! Have fun!

reine I like those things

vin any news on med school?

After several shopping free weeks I have splurged at net a porter this morning, to be delivered to my office in the plain packaging by 5pm!! I have worked on the assumption that one of the items at least won't be for me, otherwise I have completely blown my budget for the forseeable future!

spring work dress

Breton with warmth and I like the red

nice day bag and will encourage light packing?!

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday as we all sometimes do, today can only get better and I feel better already with my purchases on their way (superficial I know!)

petitdonkey · 14/04/2011 09:01

Notyummy - thanks, will try to book The Hoxton later but will check out the other recommendations if we can't get a room.

Emo - glad your retail therapy is working!! love the clutch.

I have a lovely treat today which is a few hours off to mooch around the shops followed by a facial. I'm really looking forward to going for a good rummage in Zara as there have been some great links this spring.
Does anyone have a favourite nail varnish brand? We have a ball to go to on Saturday, my dress is purple so I thought I might nod to colour blocking and do red shoes and nails, maybe lips. I need to buy a really vibrant red varnish as all of mine are quite dark.

Bloss - look forward to hearing about the Rome trip - DH proposed there yet we haven't been back yet. Don't forget to throw your coins into the Trevi Fountain!

Reine - hard to be nice about your lovely purchases when you casually mention a California Road trip.... Wink

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2011 09:10

Emo how exciting! What a fabulous delivery.

Dh is back at work today, I am at home. It has been quite funny as dh rather sheepishly admitted that he had bought a guitar (some thing from the US he has wanted since age 12 or something); as well as the coffee machine and stuff for the garden. He had succumbed to doing what I usually do, spend from home. Role reversal!

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2011 09:11

petit I don't wear nail varnish but if I did I would buy Chanel for sure Smile

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2011 10:27

Ah happy sigh. Eldest entertaining youngest. Smile

Have done outnet order (Zac Posen bag, Tory Burch flats) will link when arrives. (might be bad! Grin)

This Zac P one. Could be good! Might not be...

And flat patent bright Tory Burch ballerinas. I am a 10 in US I think. 7 UK.

And a zesty Twentytwelve tshirt and bra.

Excited about getting deliveries again Grin

MarshaBrady · 14/04/2011 12:38

Good guess by the way!
