New thread here!

Ladies. I am in hell.

I am in a hard core bar on brick lane. I am in the toilet, hiding from the young people who are clearly on something. Wearing skinnies, heels, reiss top and blazer. Outfit totally wrong, should be in something Kate moss would had worn circa Pete Doherty.

Will report back later

TheAllNewOoooh · 09/04/2011 22:07

Grin Wideawake. I'm sure you look better than the others put together.

By contrast I have just got DS off and am MNetting with a curry and the Masters on in the background. Wanna swap?

AllBuggiedOut · 09/04/2011 22:07

wideawake ditch the top and leave the blazer largely undone... Wink

moragbellingham · 09/04/2011 22:08

Oh you poor thing!!
I'm in my dressing gown with a cup of tea. Wouldn't have thought you would be too far off with that outfit. Is it just too smart?
Surely someone will oblige and spill a drink, then smudge your lippy, light up a fag and look dazedGrin.Voila KM.

pickledsiblings · 09/04/2011 22:24

Wideawake Grin

NanAstley · 09/04/2011 22:32

wideawake Just mess up your hair a bit and walk with a swagger and you'll be all right. Who knows you may just start a trend and we'll be seeing young lovelies in Reiss tops everywhere Grin

Right, I'm off now to Valencia. Flight's at 6am and we have to be up at stupid o'clock so it's an early night for us. Well, early-ish. Catch up with you all again next weekend. Everyone else who's off on their holidays...HAVE FUN! Smile

wideawakenurse · 09/04/2011 22:43

Stop taunting me with visions of dressing gowns and cups of tea.

wideawakenurse · 10/04/2011 08:00

Well, I survived.

We were at a friends birthday party last night.

Bloss - You would not recognise Bethnal Green/Shoreditch. Loads of bars, shops etc the area has transformed.

I knew I was in dangerous territory when I spied a girl wearing pixie boots, hotpants and a massive aran cardigan. These people were TRENDIODS.

The only saving grace was that I had bought a white shell top in Warehouse earlier, in a fit of 'I have nothing to wear'. Well, the top did make me think of frumpy mum at a wedding in the changing room. Thank the lord I didn't wear it in the end.

Morag you are right, I just felt a bit too 'done'. Wish I looked like I had been camping at Glastonbury for a week without any sanitary facilities. In reality, I looked like I had spend 40 mins blowing drying my hair. I think the young people could sense I don't go out much.

Still, we had a thai meal before which was great, and a bag of chips on the way home.

You know, you can take the girl out of Essex.....Wink

petitdonkey · 10/04/2011 08:48

wideawake - Grin!!!

antspants - I am also starting with the hayfever. It really affects my eyes and tablets weren't helping so a friend of mine who is a GP recommended that I try a nasal spray. I now use Beconase and it is really brilliant.

OllieWollieWoo · 10/04/2011 09:20

Exhausted - your posts from the loos really made me laugh! Gad you survived.

Had a nice dinner with neighbours last night - thanks for suggestions or starters. We made thai fishcakes in the end. Neighbours cooked a main course of trout filled with veggies baked in tinfoil - we each had one - very nice but do object at having to deal with a fish head and bulging eyes on my plate, ewww Smile

Fritzi - are you there??? Hope all ok.

Off for a family bike ride which includes a pancake lunch - how Dutch.

carciofi · 10/04/2011 09:37

Wideawake, I liked your posts from the loo. :)

Have a great holiday, Nan.

Have a nice day Ollie, sounds fun.

Bloss, couldn't open the navy shirt link but I like the sound of it.

Petit I got that discount from My-Wardrobe too. I saw those cargos, very nice. I like this cardigan.

I had to sleep sitting up last night to try and stop coughing. Can't wait until I can take drugs (medicinal!) again.

My dad arrives later, he will not be impressed with my lack of energy.

blossoming · 10/04/2011 11:57

I am a long way from Bethnal Green and from hip young things!
I am at a rugby tournament for the under 8s in the middle of gorgeous countryside. I have already eaten my picnic lunch. Ds is in his element and dh is bonding with dd. It is sunny but cooler.
Dd ate the same lunch as us. Could it be my 6.5 years of spoonfeeding is over?

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 10/04/2011 12:29

Enjoy the rugby bloss. Im now sitting in a tank at an army museum, boys and DH are in their element! May go in search of muffin!

AntPants1 · 10/04/2011 13:06

wide-awake get you with your trendy bar and tings. Bet you rocked your outfit and the young things were admiring you from afar!!!

carciofi sorry you are suffering. Is it heartburn needing you to sit up?? Horrid. You have my sympathy. I had it with DS and funnily enough he did come out with a fine head of hair!!!

bloss so get you with freedom from spoon-feeding and special things in tupperware pots! DS is 13 months and almost at the stage where I can give him the same stuff as DD (almost 6).

petit thanks for the recommendation. Have not used beconaise for years but it's worth a go. The roof of my mouth is all itchy too!!!

ollie so with you on the whole fish eye heby jebees!

Am off to bar BQ this afternoon. Indigo skinnies, silver glads and shock horror no Breton. Am giving new black and White animal print top from Zara an outing.

FritziGreenEyes · 10/04/2011 13:32

Hello I'm lurking from afar. Opening links on iphone is no fun and I am solo-parenting this weekend. I'm actually having a lovely time with DD but it feels as if DH and I are further drifting away. Same old story but it saps all my energy at the moment .

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, wearing fabulous spring outfits. The image of ollie MNing in a tank made me smile Smile.

How are you feeling after your wild night out wideawake?

AntPants1 · 10/04/2011 14:07

frizi not sure what to say. Hope you and your DH find your way back to each other. Glad DD is being a star. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

FritziGreenEyes · 10/04/2011 14:51

Sorry if my previous post was a bit melodramatic. It's just that DH didn't tell me that he had to work ALL weekend. If I had known I would have arranged to meet some friends with DD but at such short notice nobody was free.

ants Your BBQ outfit sounds fabulous!

blossoming · 10/04/2011 14:58

I am home. Debating whether to do the ironing or go and play with the family outside. I know I should make the most of the weather but.. (I want to shred tonight, selfish I know).

fritzi, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear that things are hard. Lots of support and positive vibes from here.

OP posts:
Emo76 · 10/04/2011 15:18

wideawake your posts made me grin as have been in similar situation before. Glad you survived, hope you had fun in the end! Oh fritzi hang on in there, it's always tough being on sole duty - he might feel the same too and perhaps you can get closer again with a bit of give and take? My DH and I feel like ships passing in the night sometimes, it's not great to feel that way.

Ladies I have had the pleasure of a shopping trip as DH has taken the children to see his folks. I am now the proud owner of some extorionate but flattering Jbrand "majors" in navy, two FC bretons and some FC scent. Tried the houlihans again and earharts but really couldn't justify and felt they made my bum look bigger than the majors! I feel a sense of relief that finally my spring wardrobe is bascially sorted...except it seems to already be SUMMER!!!!

Reiss was really disappointing today, felt like I was being followed around the shop and couldn't just browse. I have no patience for shopping at times!!

Emo76 · 10/04/2011 15:19

oh and bloss you aren't selfish!

carciofi · 10/04/2011 15:30

Fritzi, you don't sound melodramatic. It is just me and DD most of the time too.

Emo, J Brand majors, very cool!

Ants, no, I have had a sore throat for almost two weeks now, it is not too bad by day but tickly at night and I can't sleep well with it.

Hush free delivery MARIE11.

blossoming · 10/04/2011 16:38

I was told that night coughing was caused by a nasal drip, carciofi. I give paracetamol to my kids and to my dh if it's persistent, to dry up the nose.

OP posts:
carciofi · 10/04/2011 17:07

Thanks Bloss, I think I will take that tonight.

pickledsiblings · 10/04/2011 17:33

Rugby tournament here today too Bloss. It lasted 7 hours Shock. DS is so proud of his medal and 'plate' (it's more like an egg) and we are all sunburnt sunkissed.

Thinking of joining the local tennis club. What's the cost of coaching these days, anyone know?

Fritzi, shame you couldn't organise to meet friends. Don't be too cross with DH, I'm sure he just didn't think

blossoming · 10/04/2011 17:56

pickled, my dh is like a beetroot!
