Back to report that I managed to pull myself together. Went to local fair with DD in the afternoon: She insisted on getting changed from her playground outfit this morning and wore Zara white linen dress Smile. I wore JB shirt dress and ballet flats. We actually met quite a few people from kindergarten there and I managed to have a few chats.

I ordered a cheaper copy of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.de/imgres?imgurl=www.contemporary-home.co.uk/dedon/prodimages/Orbit-l.jpg&imgrefurl=www.contemporary-home.co.uk/dedon/prod/Orbit/Orbit&h=344&w=344&sz=17&tbnid=OmsJQVslKVdAWM:&tbnh=120&tbnw=120&prev=/search%3Fq%3Ddedon%2Borbit%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=dedon+orbit&usg=__xXV5q2fS-FIdud1SKD1W7iiKsNg=&sa=X&ei=SO6hTcKwEIfIsgabzdGKCg&ved=0CDYQ9QEwBA" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this for our terrace. Can see myself lounging on the cushions wearing a maxi and sipping cocktails Grin.

FritziGreenEyes · 10/04/2011 19:31

I would like a pair of wedge espadrilles to wear with maxis and cropped trousers, like these. Opinions?

moragbellingham · 10/04/2011 19:37

Fritzi - loving the cocoon type thingy. You can either fall asleep on it with a book or imagine you're on South Beach at the Shore ClubWink.

AntPants1 · 10/04/2011 19:38

frizi love the shoes. But gosh they are expensive for espadrilles! Glad you managed to have a good day in the end. Sorry DH had to work.

carciofi poor you. Have no advice, just sympathy. X

moragbellingham · 10/04/2011 19:40

I'm not a fan of espadrilles - they remind me of my youth when I always got the toes grubby for some reasonConfused.

I've ordered these but am unsure of the corkage. If they're really comfortable I'll keep them though.

AntPants1 · 10/04/2011 19:42

frizi what about these?

FritziGreenEyes · 10/04/2011 19:46

Thanks ants and morag, haven't considered cork but seems a good alternative to espadrilles.

blossoming · 10/04/2011 20:08

Oh I love espadrilles. They remind me of running round French campsites after gorgeous French boys! I must get a flat red pair for this year. Can't wait for the boden wedge ones to arrive too!

I also love South Beach. Imagine a summer meet up there!!

OP posts:
blossoming · 10/04/2011 20:13

fritzi, the boden ones are £45 and very similar.

moragbellingham · 10/04/2011 20:35

We went when Colin Farrell was filming Miami Vice - and kept missing him in all the bars!! And £1=$2....would love to go back.....in my dreams.

MarshaBrady · 10/04/2011 20:36

Have been to South Beach. Got lost with boyfriend on streets of Miami first however. Blinking heck I took some chances in my early twenties!

FritziGreenEyes · 10/04/2011 21:07

Let's put together imaginary South Beach meet-up outfits Grin.

MarshaBrady · 10/04/2011 21:11

Oh yes I know. The dress from the designer that anniemac loves too. Who was that again? Blue, floaty, maxi, expensive Grin

Annie, glad you had a lovely weekend.

No S&B news here, I am going to try to see the GP as I know a sore throat is trivial but just feeling awful now after two weeks of it. Thanks Ants and Pickles for the sympathy!

Lovely espadrilles, Fritzi. I always wreck espadrilles.

blossoming · 11/04/2011 12:38

Hi everyone. Hope you get to see a doctor carciofi. It has been a while now hasn't it?
Winter's back here, cold and wet. It was nice while it lasted, but I do find it easier to dress for this weather!
Dh has to talk on the radio this afternoon, the way he looks it's very lucky it's not tv ( I mean he's really badly sunburnt!).
The scales have crept up recently. I will be having a very strict week before my holiday next week. It won't be warm enough for bikinis will it? (I am really hoping not!)

dolceebanana · 11/04/2011 15:10

Hello from me!
Busy weekend and busy week planned with DCs this week, then off for weeks holiday to France so thought I'd say hi before being completely absorbed ..phew....Hope everyone is okay. Sorry to hear about sore throat Carciofi...really dispiriting when you can't shake something like that off...hope you feel better soon.
Did a bit of holiday shopping and got the Kew navy cropped trews and red breton striped top, and wanted the linen cloud dress but too big...t'would be perfect...anyhoo...also indulged the girls with navy and red gingham smocks to wear over skinny jeans...and new start-rites (red and navy) so cute! DS looking handsome too...in preppy style with brown leather boat shoes. First year I've had to buy Crocs for DCs. Not my choice but they love them for strictly playing out in....
Also made some new garden chair cushions in Ian Mankin ticking that look very good (If I do say so myself)...Now what's with this weather? Where is the sun?

moragbellingham · 11/04/2011 16:30

Fritzi Ineed an imaginary South Beach body to go with my outfitGrin!
I always imagine something white (no fingermarks/jam), floaty and long though.

OllieWollieWoo · 11/04/2011 17:17

Made a start on my big house clear out. Sold a big bag of 50 items of boys clothing on a local expat website and our last pram!. Feels good to have sorted things out tho still lots to do! Think I priced everything too low as have been inundated with queries about the clothes! Thought I would get a lot more done with DS2 now at school but the day flies by (not helped by the fact I still have to get him and bring him home for lunch and the return to school - made 8 seperate trips on my bike today!!)

Carciofi hope the Dr was helpful about your throat.

Fritzi - I love, love, love your cocoon thingy! Can I come and lounge in it too?! I have a maxi so would only need a good book and a Pimms/chilled cava and I would be in chill-out heaven! Like the red KG espadrilles but Boden ones better I think. Glad you salvaged some of the WE too.

Annie your WE sounded nice.
Dolcee - how lovely to be going to France - which part? My friend is going to the area around Carcassone (sp?) and its in the high 20's at the moment temperature wise.

Zumba tonight (groan) but treating myself to a days shopping/pottering tomorrow (yey). There seems to be lots of long line tops around which do me no favours whatsover. Not sure what I need so will probably end up faffing and buying DSs stuff!

Saw this Fossil handbag on the JL website here - thought it may be a good stop gap until I've saved for the Mulberry Tillie! Am also waiting for the tan Boden slouchy bag as well tho. Thoughts?

polyhymnia · 11/04/2011 17:43

blossoming i don't often venture among you goddesses in this super-stylish thread, but do I gather you have a great M and S Breton?

If so, was wondering which one. Am a breton-maniac but haven't found any great ones there yet. If you've tried the Boden one, would also be interested in your views on that. I have the Boden stripy tunic in navy, which seemed to fit the bill for an expedition to a trendy tapas bar on Notting Hill on Sat. lunchtime. But you (or at least I) can never have too many actual bretons!

moragbellingham · 11/04/2011 18:04

Poly - I've never heard of a M&S one.
H&M for sure. Great Plains and People Tree too.
Boden ones have gone a bit saggy but still like themSmile, just got the wrong size!

moragbellingham · 11/04/2011 18:05

Oops - didn't see that you addressed it to bloss!

blossoming · 11/04/2011 19:05

Hi poly. the search for the best Breton in 2011 continues unfortunately. The Boden one arrived today and is going back. The blue isn't dark enough and the white is not a true white. The high neckline is bad on me too. One for spinster librarians I think Wink.
this is the m&s one me and pickled have. It's pretty good, especially for the price. Not at all clingy.
