New thread here!

Your Cape Town trip sounds amazing redllama. How lovely for your Gran to see you all too.

My purple raincoat arrived, and it's staying on and coming teaching with me! It is quite fitted, and very flattering (colour is a wow colour on me though). It will be a good investment if I ever get back into school teaching and have to do 'bus duty' again!

OK, I couldn't resist the name change. At least for today. BACK TO WORK!

Bloss, I'm not surprised the raincoat is nice. Looked it from the web!

AllBuggiedOut · 05/04/2011 13:33

Can't stop, but just wanted to say "hurrah for trench coats" (really must buy one...) and to ask Ooooh what colour the shorts are. Can't tell on my screen if they're blue or grey/black. Thanks!

NanAstley · 05/04/2011 14:05

After several unsuccessful attempts to break cover, I am taking the plunge! I wonder if I can join this thread? It is so refreshing to read the posts, as noone I know in real life cares as much for clothes and shoes (ooo, shooooes!) as I do. I am very avid, though not always wise...and even though my budget isn't sky-high (more John Lewis than Loubotin) I love seeing your links.

AllBuggiedOut · 05/04/2011 14:21

Welcome nanastley Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 05/04/2011 14:21

Happy birthday annie!

Welcome nanastley!

Grin at roary. Wore my spy trench today.

Have no laptop and looking at links on iPhone isn't much fun.

Emo76 · 05/04/2011 14:27

I am with you lot on COS - I don't get it. It all looks atrocious on me, big or small! Some nice-ish accessories though. I think it's one of those brands which the fashion editors push but doesn't suit many folk in RL.

trenchcoat wink wink, nudge nudge

Welcome NanAstley

Birthday greetings Annie!

Scoffed conveyor sushi for lunch, yum yum! Still no payday treats purchased - I am out of the shopping mind-zone, but trying hard to get back in to it!

NanAstley · 05/04/2011 14:51

Thanks for welcome all.

Minutes after posting on the thread, the postie got me some parcels. Have been trying them on (my favourite part of shopping)

First up is this People Tree dress that I've seen a lot on MN. It's definitely a keeper. The cotton is amazingly soft. A few MNers found it too short, but as a 5'2" munchkin, it's just the right length for me Grin

Also Roxanne jeans from 7FAM to tide me over till I lose the baby weight. I intend to wear this to death till I can get back into my old 7FAM jeans and then flog it on ebay. Also a pair of trainers to aid in the afore-mentioned weight loss Grin

I am sorely tempted by all the talk of trench coats, but I really need to be back in a shape I like before making investment-type purchases

redllamayellowllama · 05/04/2011 14:57

Hi Nan! also a fan of the People Tree dress, very lovely. I too am tempted by all the talk of trenches. I fear, like with blazers, that I lack the polish to pull one off. There is a Burberry in duty-free though...

FritziGreenEyes · 05/04/2011 15:24

redllama It is the other way round: Trenchcoats add instant polish, so go for it!

omnishambles · 05/04/2011 15:44

Sorry to intrude but has anyone ordered from these people here am wondering about the quality.

moragbellingham · 05/04/2011 15:47

Hey Nan - I've literally just ordered that dress so am very glad it's a keeper!

I couldn't tell if the pink had a brown or blue stripe though?? So, I ordered both. I wanted to see what it was like before I went for haricot (and bloss's) hush dress. Nothing is ever too short on me either!

moragbellingham · 05/04/2011 15:48

X-post - there's your answer!

TheAllNewOoooh · 05/04/2011 16:04

ABO the shorts are dark blue, with a slight sheen. Veh nice!

AllBuggiedOut · 05/04/2011 16:22

Hi omni. I've got a cardigown and vest from Hush and they're both lovely quality.

AllBuggiedOut · 05/04/2011 16:22

Thanks Ooooh. Will try I think. Any sizing tips? Any codes?!

mrsjuan · 05/04/2011 16:23

Hello lovely ladies, am back from wonderful holiday- exceeded expectations in every way: weather hot, beach beautiful, resort v nice ( if quiet as off season) and dd was an absolute star-sat nicely doing her stickers and colouring on plane, played endlessly on the beach and charmed everyone she met with her attempts at Spanish and was rewarded with icecreams and lollies from every waiter!

Sorry I haven't had time to catch up properly as have been straight back to work but i have enjoyed looking at all the links esp the trench coats.
Fab to see you back mrscb and great news about the houses for you and redllama.
I'm sure the interview went better than you think vin.
Happy birthday Annie. Hope you have a lovely meal.
Glad the party went well marsha- flowers etc sound beautiful. We do the party post mortem too.
Hope going back to work goes smoothly zembo- take it easy.
OWW - is it wrong that I really want to come to your tea party??

omnishambles · 05/04/2011 16:25

Thanks - that might be my summer work dress then. I'd never heard of them before a catalogue fell out of the grazie.

NanAstley · 05/04/2011 16:43

mrsj where in spain did you go? I'm sure the answer is somewhere up-thread, but it's easier to just ask Blush. Only asking because we're off to Spain for ten days, leaving Monday. I'm ridiculously excited Grin

TheAllNewOoooh · 05/04/2011 16:52

ABO the shorts are a bit on the roomy side, so you may want to size down, but not ridiculously so - I stuck with my usual 10, which is comfortable but not baggy. No codes unfortunately - I bought them in store.

Happy birthday Annie! The dragonfly is a really lovely choice.

Omnishambles I have several sets of PJs from Hush, and a few vest tops and pants. The quality is nice but sizing a bit Confused. My "small" PJs are really very big on a size 10 - almost falling down. Had a similar issue with pants, but the vest tops don't accommodate much boobage. I think they must design with pearshapes in mind.

mrsjuan · 05/04/2011 17:08

Nan (welcome by the way): we went to illetas in Majorca. I was fully expecting t shirt weather but we were so lucky and had proper bikini sunshine-heavenly! Hope you have a great time.

blossoming · 05/04/2011 17:38

Hi omni, I've just bought a dress from there too. I think they're well established. But this is my first order.

Welcome nanastley. Are you up for the 30 day shred? It will definitely get you back in shape!

On that note, I realise I have bought FIVE coats since October Shock Blush. But it has been replacing fat pregnancy coats, and each one has a role to play! I think I have spent a horrific amount though ( the price of one Burberry though).

Good to have you back mrsj. Sounds like you had a great time.

Right, have decided to go for this kew blouse to go with my shorts, and this scarf that I've linked to before. Rain has paid heed to rugby training, so I'm OL shopping again! Haven't had much luck with Kew recently, but as there are no shops/concessions round here, I'm stuck with ordering/sending back. Fun though! I have high hopes for the scarf at least.

OP posts:
blossoming · 05/04/2011 19:26

exhausted, would this top go with your houlihans?
