What would you buy for £1000 in Tiffany?

DH has some cash he would like to spend on a piece of jewellery for me in the USA (lucky me!) I don't really know where to send him but Tiffany & Co are american so I thought it might be nice to have something from there.

I work in a hospital so would be for informal wear and prob not a ring as I get dermatitis on my hands because of all the handwashing.

Any other recommendations of where I might look would also be fab as I really don't know what I want and he is better with firm direction!

Thanks ladies

I'd buy a couple of the Sugar Stack rings but see you want to avoid rings so I'd by a simple diamond necklace and wear it everyday like LessNarkyPuffin suggests.

;} that looks a bit lizzy duke

geordieminx · 29/03/2011 16:39

Mulberry or coach bag

iPad

Raft of Bobbi Brown/mac make up.

Embarassingly we have been on hols to see him twice whilst he has been there and I had a lovely Coach handbag and purse and new ipod touch when I was last there.

He is also trained in the purchase of perfume, Philosophy and Clinique.

Christ I'm spoilt! I must owe him shitloads of sex!

LessNarkyPuffin my cats are well thank you. The kitten is on springs most of the time and the other one is just a gigantic fluffy cushion most of the time.

MmeLindt, I like what you linked to but that site was Canadian unless they also have stores in Tampa. International Plaza Mall is amazing though, I wish I was there to spend my own present money but that's kind of not the idea.

Thanks for all the input on this thread, loads of ideas. I must have a proper trawl of some websites.

Hmm, would send him a few doors up to the Apple Store for the iPad 2 tbh

Driftwood999 · 29/03/2011 17:47

What does a shitload of sex look like? Hmm Not nice and certainly not the language of a lady. Bye bye, have a nice life.

bristolcities · 29/03/2011 17:57

The language of a lady??? Shock. Wow I feel empowered now Hmm

LessNarkyPuffin · 29/03/2011 18:00

Maybe you should try removing that stick of driftwood from up your arse.

bemybebe · 29/03/2011 18:08

Don't know if your husband is flying from Heathrow, but I would buy from a shop there (terminal5). It is 20% less (no VAT). I am not sure how it compares to US prices, not sure if US is much cheaper.

If you want something specifically Tiffany, why not one of their key pendants. It is very Tiffany. I personally love Elsa Peretti Diamonds by the Yard necklace, which looks equally fab with an evening dress as well as jeans and t-shirt.

bemybebe · 29/03/2011 18:10

oops, i think i am on the wrong thread

tulpe · 29/03/2011 18:22

bemybebe - I was thinking of the Diamonds by the Yard. Or even the Pearls by the Yard. Both very classic but diamonds would be my choice :)

SnailWhaleTail · 29/03/2011 18:31

Am liking the Frank Ghery fish necklace that was suggested to me or I may just ask for a diamond necklace and he can go wherever takes his fancy to buy it.

I may well send him a link to this thread for ideas too!

tiffany's perfume is lovely

bemybebe · 29/03/2011 18:40

tulpe I know!! Gorgeous, aren't they? Smile

MmeLindt · 29/03/2011 19:34

I noticed afterwards that it was a Canadian site, but if you click on the Canadian flag, you can swap to the American store. They have a store in Tampa, I believe.

I have ordered in America but only online, I don't think they have a store anywhere.

Tiffanys might not be to everyones taste, but perhaps the name will help keep its value in the future.

crazybutterflylady · 30/03/2011 14:43

OP I was given some gift vouchers for Tiffany recently and I spoke to a really nice assistant in there who said Elsa Peretti stuff is going to be quite big in the future because she is older and will stop designing for them soon.

I was torn between the diamonds by the yard necklace and this and ended up going for the cuff, mainly because I thought I would get more wear out of it. I love it, it's so different and not an obvious Tiffany piece. You could actually get both Envy

Hope this helps!

newpup · 30/03/2011 17:12

That is nice to know crazybutterfly lady. I have a few Elsa Peretti pieces and love them.. Wear them all the time. I bought DD1 a piece of Elsa Peretti for her 11th birthday so pleased to hear it was a good buy .
