Hi there ladies!

OP posts:
notyummy · 13/03/2011 20:57

Just rummaging through Oasis order that arrived whilst I was away. Am keeping the bargainous skinny cargos here that have a Houli-like thing going on. They are slightly more skin tight on me than on the model in that photo but the 10 seeme to fit ok. They may get a debut as day wear next weekend...

Would welcome opinions on the dress on my profile please!! With the usual caveats of no make-up....or tights...or hair brush Grin

blossoming · 13/03/2011 21:06

notyummy, regardless of the dress itself, the proportions are amazing on you. It makes you look younger. I cannot believe you're hiding those legs under maxis!!
I am in a strop with DH and have done a double Jillian. Feel in control again now.

roary · 13/03/2011 21:07

Hi all
Home internet playing up and much to catch up on. I really like your dress NY, looks perfect on you :)

Issa dress made debut with spanx on Friday, it was great!

Off to tidy up and back soon.

loobylu3 · 13/03/2011 21:28

Hello everyone! It has been quite warm here today. Have been outside playing with the DC and am finally hopeful that Spring is coming!

vin- how is your nose?
Did you see the ENT surgeons in the end?
I think you are making the right decision accepting the legal job. You are not ruling out working in HC in the future and you must have done really well at interview to be offered it!

fritzi- I hadn't realised that you were German and not British. Your written English is amazing!
I hope you have managed to complete the manuscript today....

red- wedding shopping with your sister sounds fun.
How exciting that you are moving to Bristol! It is a fantastic city. I expect apuski has given you some handy feedback on areas. Clifton is lovely but v expensive. I think quite a few Consultants, etc lived in Stoke Bishop area. I'm probably not the best person to ask as I was a student at the time so didn't have the same priorities as I would now!!
Oh, lovely FC Breton too, you lucky thing!
Can I ask you a quick question too? I was thinking about getting those Clarks Yarra boots you linked to. I was thinking of wearing them with flared jeans. What other trousers/ outfits do you find look good with them? I am trying to justify them to myself and would want to make sure I get plenty of wear!

ollie- lovely KM trench! I do like trench coats as they are so versatile- you can wear with jeans or something smarter. I can be really handy to have someone else's opinion on a shopping trip and I bet your SIL is thrilled with her purchases.

bloss- you sound super organised for next weekend. You are scaring me a little with your talk about outfits for Sunday breakfast and needing a bigger bag! If we stay in a hotel (not a frequent occurrence), I usually get up at the last minute and pull on the nearest jeans Blush

emo- I am still wearing leggings under dresses as a alternative to tights. I also wore them on top of tights to keep my legs warm when it was v cold! I think the tunic top/leggings look is probably less on trend (not the best person to ask about trends mind) but it is so comfortable for pregnancy- quite agree!

everything- I am so pleased you had a lovely weekend with your DS, especially after your mother made you feel guilty. Mothers can be brilliant at that, mine included :)

exhausted- shame about the VWA adriana! I thought it would be v flattering.

ABO- I have to agree with everyone else that you do have an amazing figure. I like the Tibi dress you linked to a lot.

Hi LTEC and everyone else!

Apologies for mammoth post!

loobylu3 · 13/03/2011 21:31

NY- dress looks great. I saw someone trying it on in the shop when I picked up my cargos and she also looked lovely in it although much shorter than you and v curvy.

VerityBrulee · 13/03/2011 21:37

Bloss well done on the rugby yesterday. We won't mention the referee Wink

OWW I love your coat, great buy. It's a classic shape, you'll be wearing it for years.

Vin I think you're doing the right thing, but I know this is a head ruling heart situation. You are so young though, lots of time for career changes in the future.

I am getting very excited about my London trip, starting to plan an itinerary! Feel I should do something cultural to balance out all the shopping, so hope to get to the Wallace collection as I've intended to go several times but stayed in Selfridges instead Blush

I am hoping to get to Marylebone High St, Liberty, Cos, Anthropologie, Heals, Selfridges. I have promised dd a pretty dress so must get to Notting Hill to I love Gorgeous. Also love the Nicole Farhi shop/cafe near there. That's a lot of shopping. Must build up my stamina this week!

Really looking to meeting you all Smile

Zembo · 13/03/2011 21:40

NY dress looks fab!

Just a quickie re: MOAM too - I was supposed to be sharing a room with DT - she's not staying over anymore (although attending) so if anyone want to share just PM me.

Everything so glad to hear you had a good w/e.

Abo please can I see your pics too?

Vin well done on making a decision. Given all the proposed changes in the NHS at the moment, sounds like the best option for now.

VerityBrulee · 13/03/2011 21:43

NY I love that dress on you!

VIN So pleased that you bought that navy VWA top, I love it.

Everything great that your weekend went well, I hate tidying/sorting, there is always something better to do IME. Agree with others, dump all the unpacked stuff in one room and close the door. Hope you are enjoying your new bike Smile

Zembo · 13/03/2011 21:44

Blimey Verity I haven't planned any itinerary! I won't get to London until about 3pm though and not sure I can be bothered ruining the karma hopefully achieved on the train journey down! Have just about managed to decide what to wear on Sat night. Your list of shops to visit sounds great.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/03/2011 21:50

notyummy You look so svelte and have fabulous legs! Dress is a keeper I'd say.

I'm done with my work and catch up quickly before going to bed.

blossoming · 13/03/2011 21:52

looby, I'm really not scary at all. Honest! I just like to look my best at all times, and that takes work, determination and forward planning!

That's a lot of shopping you've got planned there verity.

Really glad you're well enough to come zembo.

Glad the spanx worked out roary.

blossoming · 13/03/2011 21:54

Well done on finishing fritzi.

redllamayellowllama · 13/03/2011 21:54

NY Lovely dress. Suits you very, very much.

Looby I've been wearing the Yarras with my skinny cargos and skinny jeans. I've tried them with a dress and it looked good, but I have a calf complex so it's unlikely to be a look I will sport. I haven't tried them my wide legged jeans yet - will have a little go a bit later and report back. I cannot praise them highly enough though; they are so comfortable and I've worn them nearly every day for the last week.
It's looking like Westbury-on-Trym/Stoke Bishop. Clifton too pricey, Bishopston our next choice but would likely be a long commute for DH through Bristol at peak times each way.

Am a little sad I can't make MOAMU. A couple of houses have cropped up that look perfect and we need to get an offer in before we go to Cape Town at the beginning of April if we're going to get it all done in the right time-frame. A real shame.
Wedding dress shopping was easy-peasy. We found the perfect dress (first one on the dress list) in Whistles nearby, cancelled the personal shopping and spent the afternoon eating cake, drinking tea and catching up in a local cafe. As the dress was so inexpensive (relative to other wedding dresses), we're going to town on the accessories and are going to head to the shoe hall on a Thursday night. We're looking for yellow heels.

bloss If I was your DH I would be intimidated at double shred too. Grin. My standards for tonight are a bit lower: Brush teeth and moisturize (also a double task)

Evening all, just a quickie:

NY - wow - you look fantastic in that dress
Everything - well done for your weekend - you are doing an amazing job
Verity - that's a week's worth of shopping! I was thinking of getting in at about 3 and having a leisurely coffee and cake. Perhaps I should make more of an effort to get with the A&W programme!
Vin entirely agree with the others about your decision re job esp. the fact that it doesn't have to be forever. Is there a possibility of getting some voluntary work in the health care sector as well to keep your experience up in case you do change your mind in the future?

VerityBrulee · 13/03/2011 22:06

Should explain that I'm staying til Monday evening! Even with my steely shopping determination I don't think I could do all that on Sat afternoon Grin

blossoming · 13/03/2011 22:06

I can't excercise during the day because then I'd have to do my hair and make up again!
I love excercising at 5.45 am, but Dh thinks I'm weird when I do this. Best done at weekends!
