Im starting the 30 day shred on Monday and ive seen alot of you have orderd it or are also starting monday.

Was wondering if it was a good idea to measure ourselfs in the top of our thighs, tummy, hips and whatever else in inchs to see how much we loose from where, also adding our height and weight aswell

we could put our measurements on before we start then update it after our 30 day shred?

I will measure myself over the weekend and update this thread in time for monday incase anyones intrested, or would just like to hear the results

Right. Am off to shred right now! Didn't manage yesterday after all so going to struggle today I think.

SilveryMoon I use tins of beans as weights. Couldn't afford weights as well as the DVD. Might get some now I know I'm sticking with it though.

Tortoise · 07/03/2011 10:04

Silverymoon I would start with 1kg unless you have strong arms already.
When I did the 30 days before, I went back to level 1 for 10 etc. After that was planning to vary which level I did each day but I didn't get back into it after the summer hols.

Terrorfirmer That's a shame, I hope your thigh improves quickly.

I will shred in a minute. Lovely sunny day today.

5DollarShake · 07/03/2011 11:17

Happy Monday everyone!

I didn't shred over the weekend (wasn't planning to), so will be getting back into it with a vengeance today, on level 2.

Am no longer aching, but am sure I will be after today!

I have lost weight though - nearly 3kg as compared with my entry weight on this read. I snack loads during the day as I work from home, and have cut that right out. Has made a massive difference! Shock

Tortoise · 07/03/2011 11:39

Day 6 done. Slowly getting a little easier! Smile

anon80 · 07/03/2011 11:52

well done 5dollar!

Tsil- I had a wi fit bought for me at xmas 2010 so was doing that for about 9 months, started getting competitve with myself as i measured everyday, also lost abit of weight through starvation, know it sounds wrong but it worked for me- i just said right im not eating untill im actually hungry, found myself only hungary once during the day around 3! sometimes though i would wake up starving and have toast- i was being sensible with it thou, i didnt do it to the point i was passing out, just actually hungry.

started slacking around december, eating what i wanted and didnt exxercise

But Then i got a your shape dvd for the wii at xmas, been doing that for a couple of months but still eating rubbish too, athough not huge amoounts, drifted of that and have decided enough is enough and i need to loose the last bits hence this dvd, although must say still not eating great, but will change that from today

The most important thing is to realise these things take time, but dont use that as your excuse to slack off. Your only going to get out what youve put in.

Day 8 done!!!

Although really feel like ive worked hard today for some reason!! Didnt struggle or think of quiting whilst doing it but at 2 stages i thought, bloody hell.

Also sweated hard today TMI and my face was as red as a beetroot afterwards, wonder if its because im getting better form or something?!

Also i have asthma, and must say after these workouts i can really feel my lungs getting stronger and opening wider, for the first time in a long time i feel i can breath well :)

5DollarShake · 07/03/2011 13:19

That's great anon! Sounds like you're doing really well.

I'll be doing Day 6 in about an hour.

pixiestix · 07/03/2011 15:45

Day 2 done for me, and I can feel it in my legs much more than yesterday. In a good way though.
You are providing good inspiration for us all Anon! Grin

Tsil · 07/03/2011 17:36

Thank Anon, I am sorting out the eating bit, I eat too much crap and if I cut out that I should see a difference. It's the cardio and excersise that I struggle with being asthmatic and unfit!

anon80 · 08/03/2011 10:38

Im astmatic tsil and find it improving now ive been exercising the last 8 days.

Thanks pixie :)

well done too Tortiose

Should do day 9 today but i just cant be botherd lol, not that im doing anything, im just sitting on my bum, huhhhhhh suppose i should just get on with it, being as ive done fairly good up to now, but i just realllllllllllllly cant be arsed.

Anon80 DO IT don't give up!!!!!

Tortoise · 08/03/2011 11:32

I'm asthmatic too but mildly. I find it hard to breathe through cardio and have to stop and catch my breath sometimes.

Feeling a bit bleagh today. Don't know why. Will get my arse off the sofa and shred in a minute. Will have done a week if I do today! I'm cold and the thought of getting changed is putting me off lol.

Tortoise · 08/03/2011 12:12

Yay! Day 7 done Smile. My legs are a bit sore! Glad I got on and did it.

anon80 · 08/03/2011 12:29

Day 9 done!!! Glad i just got on with it but now because i did it and have to shower after, plus wash my hair today ( dry it then staighten it ) then get dressed and put make up on, Ive missed going out with Dh and DD- if he just got dd ready and sorted so i could get on with my shred earlier i wouldnt be spending this bloody sunny day IN!!

Im pissed off at DH, he is such a tosser sometimes.

Well done everyone, I've fallen a bit behind over the last few days but done day 5 today. I bought some 1kg weights so expecting to be very stiff tomorrow. I can't imagine doing it with 2kg but I've always had weak upper arms.

pixiestix · 08/03/2011 14:45

Day 3 done here! Arms and stomach are fine but ohhhhhhhh my legs! Grin

MittzyBittzyTeenyWeeny · 08/03/2011 14:50

I seem to be managing every other day which I am bot frustrated by.
I have put 2 lb on but am very due on so Hmm

I keep meaning to get up early to do it to start the day well but insomnia means by morning the last few minutes of sleep are so precious.

I am nothing if not determined though! And at least I have started.

That sounds crap Anon Sad

I am a snacker due to working from home 5dollar.. I used to be so disciplined but got into bad habits last year that I can't shake, I am also on Citalopram which some people say makes shifting weight harder but trying not to use it as an excuse.

I am thinking of being strict over lent and treating myself to something if I have success..

SilveryMoon · 08/03/2011 19:38

My dvd arrived today. I need some weights now. Got loads to do tonight, so will start tomorrow I think.

Lavitabellissima · 08/03/2011 22:14

I'm feeling impressed with myself that I've stuck to this so far and just missed one day last week Smile
I started level 2 yesterday, bit scared of level 3 next week!

I'm also eating much better & am still cutting out alcohol mon-thurs. I'm doing the shred first thing in the morning, as I'm up early with the girls, after all that effort, I don't want to ruin it with an unhealthy breakfast!

Well done everyone, Lets all keep with the programme Grin

tulpe · 08/03/2011 22:23

Said I would join in but last week was a wash out for me so finally got my ass into gear and started today!

Won't bother posting my stats if that's okay. I don't have weight to lose - just want to tone up.

Tortoise · 08/03/2011 22:25

I have decided to give up crisps and chocolate for lent. Hopefully it will be the kick i need to help lose weight (if i can stick to it!)

SilveryMoon · 09/03/2011 07:32

Morning. On my way to work, just stopped ayt tesco and bought some 1kg weights. The soft grip kind.
I'm quite nervous about starting tonight.
I was gonna give up fizzy drinks for lent, but jave blown that already!

Maybe we could also post healthy snack or meal ideas? Wouldn't have a clue!!

tulpe · 09/03/2011 09:24

Good luck SilveryMoon - it can feel daunting but am sure you will do just fine :)

Am just about to do Day 2. My abs are a little tender this morning...the last time I did the shred I was a little sore for 3 days and then my body seemed to adjust and was fine.

Quick question about the stats: whereabouts on your thighs have you measured?

anon80 · 09/03/2011 10:11

Tulpe the very top - where it is fattest lol

Doing day 10 in a minute!

will move on to level 2 tomorrow!!! scared and dont fell ready but want to see how far i can push myself!!

I know ill be paying for my cockiness the next morning though

What shall i give up for lent? maybe chocolate and crisps too - when does it start??

bogle · 09/03/2011 10:14

Hi, just did day 2 level 1 after a gap of a week - hoping to do a lot better this week. I'm using cans for weights and it's fine for the moment. Have high hopes.
