Would you wear Converse All Star (style) shoes

I have always loved Converse All Star style shoes but my younger sister and little boy live in them in the summer. I have always been put off thinking I would be to old (even though I'm only 25) and look silly in themSad .

I have lived all winter in jeggings and leggings with denim skirts with Doc Marin boots laced half way with ribbonGrin. The converse would look good with my clothes (not so sure about my size 7 big feet) but I keep thinking Im a 'punk/rock/biker women' not a 'skater girl'Confused.

Do any other mums on here wear Converse All Star's?

I'm 40 this year and wear DMs in the winter and Hi-top Converse in the summer (not a skirt person!) I love them Smile

I'm 36 and have been wearing them for the 23 years. My currrenet pair are bright pink. I don't care if they are a school run cliche' I love em. They work best with boyfriend style jeans and long cardi's.

white leather you say ?

I fancy me some of them..

noddyholder · 13/02/2011 12:42

I wear them with skinnies a lot in summer I am not that skinny but have small feet I too find the 'jazzy' ones a bit naff but navy and white are really nice.

wear them - love them - and have noticed my friends now turning up in them ...for once in my life a trend setter amongst the villagers..Wink

Also old enough to be your mother. Have been wearing Cons since I was 13, have no intention of stopping now. Currently have red and white [limsole ones, and brown leather PF FLyers, similar, but better for winter. Am 40.

pollyblue · 13/02/2011 19:34

I'm 41 and have a pair of the black plimsole style ones. Am studying stained glass at college and they're perfect footwear for the workshop. Love 'em.

nickytwotimes · 13/02/2011 19:35

yep, love them.

38 and have low rise brown leather ones which I wear with jeans. Love them.

AnyFucker · 13/02/2011 19:45

I have seen some I have my eye on today

A muddy lilac colour, low rise with a green tongue

sounds horrid, but verrrrry cool

my dd(15) was with me...she has seen some bright turquise high tops she likes

MissRead · 13/02/2011 21:12

I've worn them for years, they're one of the only things I feel truly 'me' in so I don't care if they're cool or not, I'm sticking with them (I'm 37). Currently got a blue pair, a purple pair and a silver sequinned pair and would love some more :)

Despite them being a supposed Mum staple I don't know anyone else round here who wears them - then again nobody wears Boden either I don't think - we're pretty behind the times here!

I wear mine with rolled-up straight-leg jeans, or tea dresses. Sometimes short denim shorts or a denim mini, but only if I'm at a festival.

cocolepew · 14/02/2011 09:55

Yup, 42 and wear them all the time, mostly lo tops but have leather and Blondie hi tops. If you find them too flat (I do) buy 3/4 Birkinstock insoles and problem solved Grin
