Is this it? Is the search over? Have I found my bag....? <heart stops>

I have been looking for a tan shoulder bag big enough to hold my A4 work folder and around £100 for about 35 years. Have started many threads on the subject.

Is this it?

They have one in my local branch so am going to check it out tomorrow...

...Is it shit? Am I suffering from nice bag blindness? 49cms will fit an A4 folder, right? Is it the best bag ever? Or just ok? Too many questions?

Waaaaaaaahhhhhh!

It's just too orange...it's like me Mum's bag.

piprabbit · 07/02/2011 22:47

tethersend, in the nicest possible way, if you've been searching for 35 years I think it is very unlikely you will ever find your dream bag now.

But I really hope you continue to enjoy the search Grin.

KurriKurri · 07/02/2011 22:49

Do you think after 35 years you should widen your colour options. Grin

You do realise we are all frantically trying to distract you so you don't by the Hyacinth Bouquet number don't you?

tethersend · 07/02/2011 22:53

What's the problem? She has great taste in bags

I have this and ok a bit over budget and too slouchy but it is big Smile

I quite like the jaeger one though.

pointylug · 07/02/2011 23:02

I quite like the bag. I like the shape, the sheen, the cleanness of lines.

TapselteerieO · 07/02/2011 23:08

I am a compulsive googler and don't really mind, which might be a bit sad really lol

I will start posting the odd bags, that you will never have seen before, and I know I don't share the same taste as you but I still can't quite give up this will not be to your taste, but look I am looking at bags all over the world for you... I reckon you need to go to New York or France/Italy your taste seems a little conservative and I think any of these places will have the right bag for you....

stayathomegardener · 07/02/2011 23:15

I like it and it's in the sale.

TapselteerieO · 07/02/2011 23:26

Actually, the bag in your op is perfect get that one Grin, ignore anyone who says differently.

Zondra · 08/02/2011 00:57

I actually really like it. Looks very classic-dress up or down, practical yet low-key luxe.

Has a lovely vintage feel & is a brilliant price!

I actually want it for myself but, have recently bought an Aspinal of London bag & an Osprey bag so, I think that dh might go ape-shit if another bag appears just now!

Buy it!

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 08/02/2011 01:32

Tethers - it is beyond dire - but if you love it, who cares?? One less monstrosity taking up shelf space Grin

TheDinnerWitch · 08/02/2011 05:00

How about this one? It certainly looks big enough to carry an A4, it's tan, and it's not a satchel!

here

alfabetty · 08/02/2011 05:39

I like it.

But I do wear scarves and nautical stripes (and capri-pants with flat pumps...). Didn't realise that was such a no-no Blush.

But I do like the bag. And I rarely find bags I like - too many buckles, pockets, blingy bits for my taste these days. And a good price, too.

moragbellingham · 08/02/2011 15:49

the Oxford bag is what i call a Lady bag.

mathanxiety · 08/02/2011 16:38

It's the gaudy metal bits that I don't like... Would you consider something utilitarian like LeSportsac? DD2 has an old tote style one that used to be DD1's and she uses it for school, tons of books and papers, no rips yet and it's about 8 years old at this point -- they're well made and can accommodate a lot of stuff.

Zondra · 08/02/2011 18:29

alfabetty - We favour the same sartorial choices-I looove a nautical stripe, black pumps & capris & natty scarves tied jauntily. Grin
Bought my first Amor Lux Breton shirt & Hermes scarf in Saint Malo last year & I'm still thrilled with them!

Anyway, I still say buy the bag,Tethersend! It's fab.

tethersend · 08/02/2011 19:37

Readers, I bought it.

It's lovely.

Screw you all Grin

(except those who said "buy it" Wink)
