Mine...
Bourjois bio detox foundation. One of the worst i've ever tried. Patchy, blotchy, horrid texture, impossible to blend.
Also..MAC's Newly Minted matte eyeshadow. What a disappointment! The colour is gorgeous. I chose matte finish as have quite oily lids and thought it would therefore have better staying power. I used with their Painterly base and it still wouldn't stay put! It creased terribly within half an hour.
Has anyone else found this re Mac eyeshadows? Am i applying wrong? Used a sponge applicator.

That new No7 mascara that Boots are pushing, the one in the green container. Didn't look like I had any on and it was impossible to put on bottom lashesAngry

lolcat · 02/02/2011 00:24

Benefit Dr Feelgood - rubbish, threw it out
Benefit Lemonaid - also rubbish, threw it out
Benefit Benetint - hated it, threw it out

... do you see a pattern here? Grin I keep getting suckered in by the pretty packaging but only about half of the Benefit products I've bought are any good. Love the Browzings eyebrow grooming kit and Coralista blusher though, and got a free sample of That Gal primer and thought it was pretty good.

Other things I wasted money on were:
Protect and Perfect serum - couldn't see any difference whatsoever
Lancome Hypnose mascara - bought because of recommendations on here but it was clumpy and horrible. Couldn't wait to see the end of it so I could go back to Max Factor Masterpiece.

valiumredhead · 02/02/2011 08:31

I keep coming back to this thread - it's my spiritual home Grin

No 7 Intense Volume is AMAZING, I'm surprised at so many negative comments. I have only just started wearing No7 again ( might have something to do with Boots' £5 vouchers they dish out Wink) and I have been pleasantly surprised. The mascara is so good I ditched Max Factor Masterpiece and am on my 3rd tube of it now. And their metallic eye pencils are so soft and creamy and REALLY last.

The only thing I haven't been pleased with is the NO 7 mineral powder foundation - the texture and finish is lovely, much better than Bare Minerals IMO but even the lightest colour is ORANGE!! [SHOCK] and it has light deflecting glittery bits in - not good on anyone over 17.

Beauty Flash Balm - crap IMO - what on earth is it meant to do?? Confused

I feel like Souxsie without her banshees when wearing it

The poster that said that, just made me spit my tea out in a rather un ladylike fashion Grin

polarfox · 02/02/2011 10:20

Cre de la mer face cream- so crap (used it as hand cream!!)

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour rubbish

and all Benefit buys were wasted too

yy to Loreal Lash Architect - horrid and dry, made lashes go all spiky.

The only Nars lipstick I ever bought smelled of plastic and was incredibly dry.
Armani makeup - don't waste your money. I spent approx £22 on a lipstick that was no different to something from Collection 2000 and their face powder made me look like I'd been dipped in chalk.

polarfox · 02/02/2011 11:42

Jajas they conned us, big style Shock

I love this thread!

I'm a real sucker for those prettily packaged little froufrous that are going to make me look like I'm in the land of the living (never mind beautiful!). I don't have the cash to try them all, so it's good when I read something I was going to splash out on was shite!

Thanks Ladies, all!

TigerseyeMum · 02/02/2011 21:02

I was so excited to get the Moroccan Oil shampoo and conditioner when it came out, 'all natural ingredients' and 'good for your heair' blah blah.

Bought them, £16 each.

Have never had such awful scalp itch in my life, I had just got my sensitive scalp under control and they undid 3 months of hard work Angry When I checked out the ingredients they are full of PEGs and nasties.

I can't use them, and have spent the last 3 months trying to control my scalp again.

willybreeder · 03/02/2011 09:59

I'm loving this thread too!
Beauty Flash Balm is great - but you need to get used to applying it. If you haven't exfoliated your skin regularly it can go into little balls on the skin. Smooth over the skin - no rubbing - apply foundation straight after - gently. Your skin should glow and make-up stay on. I used to work for Clarins and it's that and cologne that I still buy (full price now though boo)!

cookingfat · 03/02/2011 16:24

Benefit Benetint (bought on ebay, and resold at a profit, so all is forgiven).

Clinique Pore Minimiser - made mine loads worse.

Kiehl's facial wash & moisturiser brought me out in big, red rash : (

Jewelsandgems · 03/02/2011 17:54

oh god. I have bought a mascara today - no7 curling new one Hmm (I was in a rush!)
why did I not buy my usual hypnose?!!

I may actually try and take it back?

I like benetint but ran out and decided to use the rest of my mac 'posie' and - looking back at pictures - the mac one looks alot better than when i was using benetint....

lololizzy · 03/02/2011 18:04

have just remembered..that Superdrug moisturiser with the apple extract..turns out it's about 1%..what a con. And all it did was sting like buggery...

Oh I quite liked the No7 mascara in the green tube (although my mum thought it was rubbish), almost as good as Clinique Long Pretty Lashes one which I should just go back to as it's the best one I've ever used but I get suckered into trying new ones Hmm

Recently Maybelline Lash Stilleto (had good reviews on Boots.com) is a bit rubbish and a Mac one which I have used only twice, the brush is too overloaded even if you clean it with a tissue so you get clumpy lashes, it doesn't dry and is so pigmented it takes ten washes to get off.

Agree the L'Oreal under eye concealer is great, only tried it as it I got the Studio Secrets Primer reduced if you bought it, can't recommend the primer enough.

Won't be replacing Clinique anti-redness powder either, far too yellow, some photos from Christmas make me look like I have a liver disease Shock

Spangers · 04/02/2011 13:42

Also I go some Soap and Glory conditioner which smells lovely but I have used twice now and both time it left my hair feeling sticky and looking greasy like it hadn't washed out.

Dillinger · 04/02/2011 14:18

Years ago I tried the Clinique '3 step' thingy, was farking awful. Made my skin sore and needless to say I binned it all.

ihatethecold · 04/02/2011 14:23

i love 8 hr cream. its fab on lips if you go running. it stays on which is brill in this weather.

i cant see any difference when i use clarins beauty flash balm. studio secrets primer gave me spots and my mac lipstick stays on for 5 mins .

i love bobbi brown pot rouge and clarins foundations/ tinted moisturiser. although i hated Dior nude foundation. it made me look about ninety!

Mahraih · 04/02/2011 15:07

The Bourjois Bio Detox Organic foundation, too. Colour was fine, but it was hell to apply - to blend it I had to apply, wait for two minutes, and THEN blend, which was a hassle.

It also smelt funny ... like some kind of plant? I understand it's 'organic' but I don't want to smell like plant.

I now use Une's mineral foundation which is so much better, and the same price (ish).

tigerbear · 13/02/2011 23:22

Don't be taken in by how the Lip Tint by Max Factor looks on the adverts - it's RUBBISH! I bought it on Wednesday and it was ok, but used for the second time it was already dried out! The felt tip seems to get contaminated by anything else on your lips - like balm - and stops it working. But there's no way you could use this WITHOUT llipbalm - far too drying.
This will prob go in the bin Angry
