Nowhere.

If you avoid everything that someone on MN considers naff you would be naked. And someone would then call being naked naff.

FluffyMummy123 · 27/01/2011 14:09

gah
no one REALLY buys things at debs though puppy do they?Wink

white stuff is just so dull

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:14

I know cod, I know - so where can I go??? Dorothy Perkins? Top Shop? Meh! - name me some good names!

Fimbo · 27/01/2011 14:14

White stuff & Fat face are very overpriced for what it is.

I am a Uniqlo gal these days. Crap website though. Really need to visit flagship London store on Oxford Street, or Richmond is not too bad.

They have just opened one at Bluewater and I am going on Saturday.

Ragwort · 27/01/2011 14:15

I only buy clothes at charity shops - but I suppose that makes me a bit worthy - and can I shop at any charity shops or only certain ones?

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:17

Yes, Rag - I think you should avoid Oxfam, they're a bit naff. Wink

I'm too fat for anywhere at the moment
But

Instead of thinking 'shops'

think

'shapes'

New Look seems to get mentioned from time to time. To my surprise because it's cheap-looking, nasty shit for teenagers IMO.

Fimbo · 27/01/2011 14:21

I hate New Look. I get dragged in there on a weekly basis by dd and have yet to find anything passable.

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:22

I don't mind New look for some basic stuff. Trouble is you get something from there and everyone else you bump into is wearing the same thing.

Rhian82 · 27/01/2011 14:22

I love White Stuff. Only buy stuff in the sale though, too pricey for me.

DarrellRivers · 27/01/2011 14:23

I don't have enough time to wear all the clothes I have already

So am trying to do that

And agree with cyb, get much further with being slim, having nice hair and accessories than new clothes these days (gawd am I getting old)

fullmoonfiend · 27/01/2011 14:23

Ragwort - i buy all my fat face stuff from charity shops!

notyummy · 27/01/2011 14:24

ASOS

Warehouse

Cos

H and M for cheap stuff.

And obviously a whole host of expensive designer places that I really shouldn't even look at for fear they will tempt me.

Thingiebob · 27/01/2011 14:26

We need a Mumsnet approved guide please seeing as I have posted a similar thread topic only moment ago.

WHERE TO SHOP
for decent, affordable, stylish kit.

Ragwort · 27/01/2011 14:26

But now there's another dilema fullmoon - is it acceptable to buy certain designer ranges from charity shops or is that not allowed either Grin? That reminds me I've got some Fatface jeans (via Sue Ryder) waiting for me to lose a few pounds !

minipen · 27/01/2011 14:29

I went off per una when someone told me peruna in Finnish is potato now I walk through laughing at the potato labels (of which I have a few items in my wardrobe)

fullmoonfiend · 27/01/2011 14:31

Well, I'd rather not line Messrs White Stuff's pockets with my hard-earned cash. It just ain't wurf it. But if I like something, and see it in a charity shop, I'll buy it. Even Boden Shock
I'm not a snob....inverted or otherwise.
Today I am wearing a lovely Fred and Florence ditsy floral dress, with an Asda cashmere cardie, and some leather knee-length boots from a charity shop. I've been told four times today how nice i look.

PuppyMonkey · 27/01/2011 14:33

So I'll stop buying clothes and just buy some new accessories - but not from White Stuff etc I presume?? Where then - not bleeding Pandora!!??

OP posts:
upahill · 27/01/2011 14:37

This place is good. Even Mary Portas likes it!best

upahill · 27/01/2011 14:38

www.michellebfashion.co.uk/index.php

If it doesn't work google MichelleB.

theoriginalscrummymummy · 27/01/2011 14:56

Jeez, since when has H and M been cheap? Or am I just really poor Blush

Deaddei · 27/01/2011 15:11

Uniqlo in RIchmond has closed down fimbo.
I have just bought a couple of tunics in Fat Face and a top and cardi in Monsoon.
I am going for navy this spring which actually suits my haggard face more than black.

Fimbo · 27/01/2011 15:32

No Deaddei! Oh well not be having anymore weekends in Richmond then! Grin
