Sorry for repeating myself everyone but bonsoir, I have jbrand 912 in indigo and black. From nap.

pickledsiblings · 31/01/2011 14:37

Bonsoir, Top Shop has those type of ballerinas if you wanted to try out the cheaper version first.

I was wondering what you thought of Emmanuelle Alt's style Bonsoir?

Thought you and others might be interested in having a peep inside her Paris apartment. I love it!

Bonsoir · 31/01/2011 14:38

Thanks blossoming! I must get over to Le Bon Marché and try on some expensive jeans as well as popping to Gap. And then take an informed decision. DP is a bit Hmm about wildly expensive jeans and it looks good to very occasionally display a sense of economy when buying clothes Wink. Helps fund the Marni habit, IYSWIM!

Romanholiday · 31/01/2011 14:40

redllama did you look at the Charlotte Mann mural that India Knight has in her hall? you can commission her to come and do a whole mural for you. I expect rather ££££

Talking of art, I want to get big pop art paintings of the boys - Warhol/Monroe style - about 1m x 1m. Any ideas where to go? I know a Chinese artist who would do it but it seems a bit logistically complicated since he's in Beijing.

Romanholiday · 31/01/2011 14:41

portraits, I mean

Bonsoir · 31/01/2011 14:44

pickledsiblings - I admire Emmanuelle Alt's style, which is very much copied in Paris - she is "glam rock" to Carine Roitfeld's "porno chic". I know people who dress like Emanuelle Alt and look fab. I, however, cannot possibly draw inspiration from her look - I'm totally different and my style is much more "intello-romantique".

The pictures of her apartment are from 1997 and I think it shows - a very Parisian style, but slightly dated now. Piles of stuff everywhere is no longer so prevalent a decorative style here.

notyummy · 31/01/2011 14:45

Hi ladies

Have just been virtual dress shopping on another thread and found these two - waddya think?

bit different?

I know, I know....its another maxi!

Bonsoir · 31/01/2011 14:46

Roman - I had a portrait of DD done when she was two and the artist who did it is very well connected and could probably recommend someone (if you can ever pin her down). Depends whether you want to come as far as Paris? I'm sure there are fab artists in Belgium.

macmama · 31/01/2011 14:46

It might have been the Gap ones I had they were premium skinnies or something. Or it could be that I just got very skinny after buying them!

Love the sound of the Nudies llama

macmama · 31/01/2011 14:47

love that blue maxi NY

OP posts:
macmama · 31/01/2011 14:50

How high waisted are the long john skinny nudies llama?

OP posts:
monkeysmama · 31/01/2011 14:53

I have lots of pairs of Nudies and would highly recommend them. The Long John skinnies are my favourites as they stay tight (knee sags are my pet hate). I have them in grey/black and clean blue and the black are slightly thinner and tighter oddly but the blue I wear more and are the best skinnies I've ever had by miles. The High Kais I have are lovely - a darker but quite textured blue. It makes them look less formal for everyday wear and I find the high waist very flattering. They aren't as tight as the Long Johns though but I wear them as an alternative to the bootleg style that's popular again and find they go with more shoes than real skinnies.

monkeysmama · 31/01/2011 14:55

Mac they're what I think is described as "mid rise". Mine aren't high waisted but contain some muffinage.

macmama · 31/01/2011 14:56

Thanks Monkeysmama thats very helpful. They are not too ££££ really. I have decided I don't really like the skinnies I have - too low rise.

OP posts:
macmama · 31/01/2011 14:56

mid-rise very good!

Oh - just had a weird moment of fashion fate - walked to the PO to send back Pure coat and walked past a sale rale in a shop - guess what was on there? A navy blue short wool coat for bargain price of 30euros (last sale day). Obviously not as soft as the Pure one but virtually identical style - just one extra set of buttons, slightly more fitted with a cute little kick pleat on the back. Result!

notyummy · 31/01/2011 15:45

Sounds like a real bit of luck there OWW!

ReineDeSaba · 31/01/2011 15:54

Emo76 · 31/01/2011 16:42

florence / Bonsoir I have the high waisted GAP skinnies in indigo and they have massively bagged and the colour has transferred quite badly even after several washes. Not a wise buy IMO.

Bonsoir · 31/01/2011 16:58

Sad *tracey. Poor, poor you - quel stress!

Emo76 - thanks for the info on the Gap skinnies. Shall not even try them on if that's the case.
