Couldn't resist!

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 21:38

make-up not make

traceybath · 29/01/2011 21:39

Hells - fake tan and pale lipstick reminds me of the mother of the bride in this week's gypsy wedding programme.

Now that was a look Grin

hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 21:42

Sam's Mum. She was a real beauty.

traceybath · 29/01/2011 21:44

She knew the power of an accessory though Wink

There was none of this underdressed nonsense with her.

Because I often look in the mirror and think 'hmm whats missing is a miniature top hat'

eshermummy · 29/01/2011 21:46

OMG, imagine being told your personal style was very "Gypsy Wedding"!!!
Hells - No, but I do like a full face of make-up Blush and most of my friends are very fashiony in a much more pared down aesthetic - no makeup/natural looking makeup and more directional hair iykwim.

Romanholiday · 29/01/2011 21:46

esher Russian oligarchs only date supermodels so I think you should take it as a compliment!

Sam's mum was amazing Grin

hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 21:47

Grin - I'm surprised Emmanuelle Alt isn't quaking in her spiky boots!

Did you ever see 'the only way is essex?'...did she remind you a little of Kirk's Mum?

blossoming · 29/01/2011 21:48

I am so watching Gypsy Weddings this week! Great tshirt hells.

traceybath · 29/01/2011 21:49

Oh god - she does! And obviously you know I don't just watch trashy tv on my big new tv Wink

eshermummy · 29/01/2011 21:50

My sister has a miniature top hat that she bought for a burlesque fancy dress party. I secretly want one Blush

I was telling DH the other day that I may have some sort of midlife fashion crisis when I hit 40 and suddenly go all Dita von Teese on the school run. Go all "Vivien of Shit" as I think Cod referred to it on another thread earlier this week!

blossoming · 29/01/2011 21:52

Actually, when is it March?

traceybath · 29/01/2011 21:52

Oh I hate that Vivien of Holloway stuff too.

Loving the thought of doing a Dita on the school-run though - can you imagine Grin

hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 21:53

thanks Bloss.

I wonder how we can incorporate a little 'gypsy' wedding style into our looks Grin...it was 'trending' so much while it was on I reckon it'll have some effect on fashion next season (and actually I'm not joking...but obviously it'll be a parred down version!)...

hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 21:57

are you all off now, attaching fairy lights to your dresses? I'm just off to test mine.

Meggles76 · 29/01/2011 21:58

Hells - you could always wear a tutu with some fairy lights under it (DC can follow you around with the fire extinguisher) - gypsy chic Grin

traceybath · 29/01/2011 21:58

Well Esher is going to have the top hat - Hells - you and I could rock the corset look Wink

And I'm always game for some fake tan.

hellsbelles · 29/01/2011 22:02

MOAM outfit - SORTED (I've checked with the fire regs at the building and it'll all be fine).

Night all.

redllamayellowllama · 29/01/2011 22:06

Personally, am planning an outfit change into my lurid flamenco two-piece in order to showcase my moves...

Plum, you've hit the nail on the head with the lace evaluation. Think this Reiss top might be the answer for the larger-busted lady (of which I am one).

Speaking of WIT, I was trawling through her blog looking for aforementioned 'TS' top to see how she wore and I realised that one of the Cos tops I bought on Friday is the very same one on the blog, which I had loved at the time. Picked it up yesterday and it didn't even cross my mind, thought i'd done really well. Seems I, too, am a marketer's dream Blush.

Other HBO fans - DH and I just watched the first episode of Boardwalk Empire. Is very, very good.

traceybath · 29/01/2011 22:08

Red - is that the one in 20's Atlantic City - saw it mentioned in Grazia and thought it looked v good as loved the sopranos.

And loving idea of dc's toddling round with fire extinguishers.

redllamayellowllama · 29/01/2011 22:10

That's the one Tracey. You'll love it if you liked The Sopranos. It starts on Tuesday on Sky Atlantic.

hf128219 · 29/01/2011 22:26

MM So sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you and take great care. X

FauxFox · 29/01/2011 22:41

Oooh ant the snakeskin ted baker is very nice...might have to order and see irl Grin thanks!

Fleecy · 29/01/2011 22:42

esher am always happy to act as enabler.

My MOAM look will involve applying many extra layers of fake tan to my face so it looks like my head is in darkness when the rest of my body is merely orange.

I'm getting very excited about Sky Atlantic. I need to get out more...

bunnymother · 29/01/2011 23:16

Super quick post...

Reallygrumpy - CONGRATULATIONS!! That is wonderful news!

Reine - happy birthday for tomorrow!

notyummy · 29/01/2011 23:32

Fleecy-am also excited about Sky Atlantic!

Just back from Thai Sea Bass dinner extravaganza. Was v nice. Am watching Hurt Locker with DH whilst mildly pissed in Voignier. Yum!
