FritziGreenEyes · 29/01/2011 16:25

Happy Birthday notyummy!

traceybath · 29/01/2011 16:30

Went RL shopping today after meeting friend for a coffee and lordy aren't the shops awful at the moment.

Brora though was getting some spring stuff in and lovely colours for summer type people [pretends to be bloss] - lovely rose and cornflower blue.

Esher - warehouse had got a navy pleated skirt in chiffony material but overall thought warehouse was polyester-tastic.

Jigsaw - oh dear oh dear - frumpy and expensive - what is to like?

RG - congratulations!

NY - happy birthday! Hope you have a lovely day.

Reine - happy birthday for tomorrow.

Zembo - glad you're feeling better.

Fritzi - you sound gorgeous in your silk shirt.

Bloss - have fun!

blossoming · 29/01/2011 16:46

Happy birthday notyummy!
I wear skinnies and flats when entertaining at home. And a frown usually.

PlumSykes · 29/01/2011 17:06

Have a fancy for this.

How would I wear it, do you think?

blossoming · 29/01/2011 17:13

Hi fauxfox, Welcome! Although really can't help at all! Have you looked at mywardrobe; netaporter; matches; johnlewis?
plum, with grey, is all I have to offer!

PlumSykes · 29/01/2011 17:17

Bloss, I was thinking with charcoal peg-legs and my new patent grey Blochs, but then what metal? Usually wear gold, but would look a bit dodge, no? I suppose my black bib necklace with big stones would be okay, but ALWAYS seem to be wearing that.

VerityBrulee · 29/01/2011 17:24

at Emmanuelle Bloss

Happy birthday NY hope you have a great weekend, you are a great friend, I'm sure she will really appreciate the support.

Poor Roary sounds like a nightmare week, hope that dc are on the mend now

Vin how was the flat today?

Reine hopw your dc are better now, and happy birthday for tomorrow

Tracey was thinking about you today, you'll have to start a W&A in the property section. Any news on the new house?

LTEC have fun tonight!

I had a few hours in town today, bagged a John Smedley raspberry boyfriend cardigan with 30% off. I am in such a pink and red mood at the moment, going to get the summer clothes boxes from the attic, take out all the pink and wear with thermals. Also go a reduced breton, justified it as it is navy with cream stripes and I only have a few of those, rather than cream with navy which need a whole shelf to themselves. Also spent much to much in a lovely stationary shop, I do love a pretty notebook.

Fritzi love the sound of your outfit, all this talk of Belstaff ankle boots has given me a craving for some.

PlumSykes · 29/01/2011 17:25

Good colour for you, Bloss?

VerityBrulee · 29/01/2011 17:32

Oh I love that Plum, I know some hate it but I love navy with black, so black skinnies and ankle boots, but would also be good with charcoal, chocolate, nude pink, cream. I'm tempted myself.

Fauxfox I have this in dark brown, I love it. We used to have a Jigsaw in Dublin, I never bought many clothes there but loved the accessories dept. They closed down a couple of years ago, and I miss their shoes and bags.

carciofi · 29/01/2011 17:36

Monkeysmama, so sorry to hear your news.

AntPants1 · 29/01/2011 18:00

faux Ted Baker have some lovely belts

loobylu3 · 29/01/2011 18:00

So sorry to hear your sad news MM. Do take care of yourself.

Am having a meal out with DH tonight- the first in a v long time. Was thinking of wearing the navy Janice or maybe my new Whistles dress (same one as apuski and red). It is bitterly cold outside though so will probably have to layer!

Re: discussion a few pages back about live in 'house staff'. My mother grew up with lots of servants (in India/ East Africa). My DH is from The Far East and also grew up with 'maids'. I have stayed in these relatives houses, particularly my PIL's house on a number of occasions.
I do recognise bonsoir's description of the unhappy, over worked Fillipina maid. However, I have always felt completely comfortable with my PIL's 'maids'- (they have had three different ladies over 15 years or so). In fact, I feel more relaxed with them than with my PIL! :)

AntPants1 · 29/01/2011 18:01

plum I love the top. Am very tempted. I think skinnies with shoe boots. Silver jewels.

blossoming · 29/01/2011 18:02

Great shopping there verity. Saw the most beautiful Breton maxmara dress in HN today. There's always room for more!
plum, that is a lovely colour. Wrong shape for me though. Don't need my midsection to look any bigger! Re the lace top. Does it need a necklace?

AntPants1 · 29/01/2011 18:06

Top from Ted Baker.

What do you think? Have very smart 40 th to go to in March so could wear with skinnies and boots?

Have a Ted Baker near work so will try on during the week. I find their stuff always comes up small...or maybe I am just kidding myself..sigh

AntPants1 · 29/01/2011 18:07

MM. You don't know me as I am new to this thread but I just wanted to say how sorry I am.

X

AllBuggiedOut · 29/01/2011 18:21

Thanks for advice! Will debut the gold bloch ballet flats I think, and skinnies a good idea. It somehow feels wrong to put on tights to stay home Confused

mrsjuan · 29/01/2011 18:23

mm - I'm so, so sorry. I'd been wondering where you were and hoping you were ok. Take care.

bloss - Envy Hope you had a lovely day - did you get anything else?

Tracey - agree - shops are dire. Ours are rubbish at the best of times but I was totally uninspired today. Such a shame as SIL took DD out for a few hours so I could shop without continually doling out raisins and breadsticks!

Tried on this in navy - very nice & flattering but by the time I get an occasion to wear it it will probably be in the sale!

these were ok

CHOOGIRL · 29/01/2011 18:25

MM Am really sorry for your loss. Hope you are taking care of yourself.

Have posted on your other thread - hopefully not too late.

The LV scarf is now safely chez Choo. It's £££ for cotton, but I really like the colours. Decided on the Coral blanc.

Happy birthday NY hope you are having a fabulous day

blossoming · 29/01/2011 18:48

Well I had my hair done, my eyebrows done at Blink, I bought another Blooz eyeliner in Mac, their Opulash volume mascara, and a blusher in Dollymix. (Should I namechange?!). I bought My Last Duchess to read on the train. So quite £££ for only buying jeans!
The jeans were February budget. Must put credit card in freezer when I get home!

Emo76 · 29/01/2011 19:06

Ants and others I am so with you on Jigsaw - where are the more modern shapes, brighter/lighter colours for spring etc? It's just so dreary and the designs don't seem to have been updated for years. Watch out for the rouched waistband on that TB top - it's not exactly flattering on the model.

bloss that's an impressive haul and sounds like a fab day out.

MM I can only echo what Ants said - I haven't "met" you before but my heart goes out to you and your husband.

Browsing whilst DD1 is in the bath I see this coat and would value any wise thoughts on it - looks like it could do me through spring and a more interesting shape than anything else I own. Any wise thoughts welcomed!

redllamayellowllama · 29/01/2011 19:17

MM again, I don't really 'know' you, but also want to extend my sympathies. I am so sorry for your loss.

Happy birthday NY!

Plum, love the lace top. Can I ask, would you wear it casually? I'm keen to sport some daytime lace, but wondering if it is a little OTT.

Bloss, sounds like a blissful day, hope the journey home is an easy one.

Emo, not sure about the coat. It has a touch too much of the footbal manager to it for my liking. But I'm crap at buying coats,, so you may not want to listen to me.

traceybath · 29/01/2011 19:25

Oh Choo - I keep thinking about that LV scarf - is it 100% cotton?

traceybath · 29/01/2011 19:26

Oh I channeled Emmanuel today or so I thought in black skinnies (gap ones) and DH asked why I was 'gothed' up Hmm

Apparently my make-up needed to be more goth-like but I was rocking that look.

Not sure to be honest thats what I was going for but hey ho.
