New thread...sorry bit lame compared to normal, but thought I'd bite the bullet (as it were)....

bet it Chesneys Tracey

Bloss....wowee! Gorgeous photo and love jacket!

Loobylu- can I be added too purleese? Thanks

OP posts:
loobylu3 · 24/01/2011 14:15

tracey- that does sound sad for your poor DS. Did the mother invite all the other children and leave out only one? :(
He did deal with it v well though, bless him!

cake- I also find boys easier that girls when they play here! Your beauty regime seems fine except for the Dukkaning (I am the woman who has just consumed half a Waitrose double chocolate cake)!

bunnymother · 24/01/2011 14:17

Oh Tracey - your lovely little boy, how hurtful! I have tears in my eyes and he isn't even my child - God knows how I am going to cope when my DDs get hurt feelings. I hope the teacher can help you understand, and perhaps a special treat for DS tonight?

MrsJ - your DD sounds (and always has done) to be both funny and very clever - surely she is quite advanced w her talking?

Hells - ha ha, I can completely relate to doing ridiculous things to entertain your DDs. I have no dignity any more - I will do almost anything to make DD1 laugh and keep her happy. DH is far too embarrassed to do half the things I do.

redllamayellowllama · 24/01/2011 14:17

Nice to know it's not just me Looby. Thank you for that.

bunnymother · 24/01/2011 14:20

Carciofi - if you fancy our Phil & Teds, PM me and I will give you the details, as am in no rush to sell it (not telling DH that, obv!!). But am quite relaxed about the whole thing, as they do seem to sell well on eBay. Although there is also the Dash and the Explorer models available now (whatever they are).

MarshaBrady · 24/01/2011 14:21

I completely forgot a doctor's appointment last week.

Am going to write it here. It's this Friday.

macmama · 24/01/2011 14:24

God I have resisted urge to Dukan all this time despite being on this thread. Have not even bought/looked at book! But bunny if you think it will help you then why not, esp. now you are no longer feeding the two gorgeous babies.. for me giving up dairy alone was enough to get rid of spare tire although admit it did take some time to get full effects.

As for shredding, I am none the wiser on that either must be the most out of shape person on the thread!

And to any of my old (2004-2007-ish) Style and Beauty cronies (when I was anniemac) if you are lurking ? hello!

macmama · 24/01/2011 14:26

Testament to shredding from Hunker here

OllieWollieWoo · 24/01/2011 14:28

Bloss one last link - my sister has this cardi from M&S and its a lot better in RL (she sized down) raspebrry and other pinks here

Fritzi - I really feel for you. Not a nice way to start the week. Has DH had his appraisal yet? DH had his last week and is noticeably more relaxed now.

OllieWollieWoo · 24/01/2011 14:29

Can't believe I spelt raspberry wrong!

macmama · 24/01/2011 14:30

Thats it have caved and bought shredding DVD.

Shame I can't buy time to do it!

hellsbelles · 24/01/2011 14:30

I hope you gave her a special 'look' Tracey (we'll get a thread soon on MN...'why did TB give me a look today - I can't work out what I did wrong'!

LTEC- fake glow - I bought some by-terry stuff here from space NK when they had 20% off. It's very very pricey but lasts for ages... it really evens out my skin and seems to make it better all round. I also use a good tinted moisturiser on top if I am going out somewhere.

I have heard the Laura Mercier one is very good for most people (didn't do wonders for me though).

I also use this genifique but it took ages to start working so may not fit in with your 5 day schedule Grin

And I don't know what's come over me...I promise no more DC 'cute' stories...must be my hormonal imbalance Wink

mrsjuan · 24/01/2011 14:33

eek Tracey - did she speak to you? I am dreading all this stuff Sad

Dolcee - Grin at the snow white dress!

Tracey & Bunny - yes I think she is pretty good at talking for her age - I don't have any others to compare her to though. It sounds funny to hear her saying so much when she's still wearing clothes for a 9-12 month old Grin.

OWW - I meant to say that I quite enjoyed zumba - didn't think it was much of a workout at the time but could feel it the next day so maybe all the wiggling used different muscles to usual. No pony riding though thank goodness.

hellsbelles · 24/01/2011 14:37

girls vs boys - well at the moment I'm finding DD easier than DS at the same age (2nd child syndrome probably)...but at DS's last birthday party I was ready to ban girls from any future ones. They were a nightmare...all 'I've lost my hairclip, she said this, I feel sick' blah blah blah...while the boys just ran round and got messy - made me dread DD getting older really!

Bunny - I really think the Dukan is worth a go. Not least because after the first attack bit you seem to get loads of energy which is most welcome (I'm sure with twins even more so). And the results are so quick.

I do pilates as well - which helped get my decrepit and bed rested body back to strength quite well. It's helped loads of other people I know so certainly worth trying before surgery in case they can sort it. Not sure where you are based? The one I go to is fab as it's not a general class but not a one to one - they tailor excercises for you and then make sure you are doing it right...but everyone is doing different things - if you can find a place that works that way - all the better.

LetThemEatCake · 24/01/2011 14:40

ASOS order has arrived .... will report back

bunny I miss rice milk and cereal Sad

Here's a question ladies - do you think it's preferable (for you, personally) to be an 'okay' weight that you can maintain easily or a weight that you are properly happy with but that requires vigilance?

thanks for the tips hells. Was only joking re cute kids stuff. Am pretty certain that all of our kids are gorgeous.

tracey OMG. Thank goodness you are dignified and polished. I would have been dishing out what has been dubbed by my friends as my "tarantula look"

blossoming · 24/01/2011 14:40

bunny, do you want me to send you the dukan books? Pristine!

LetThemEatCake · 24/01/2011 14:41

oh and bunny, post ds2 I did Carol Vorderman 28 day detox which I found amazing for energy and weight loss. Lost a stone in 28 days and it stayed off until I got pg again.

Lots of rice milk allowed too!

hellsbelles · 24/01/2011 14:42

LTEC - I know we will never agree on this - but for me an 'o.k' weight (size 10 - looks good in most clothes) - that is easy to maintain (and with general dukan rules it is easy)...while at the same time enjoying good food and not feeling worried is right for me.

Truth is I'm too piggy greedy to go for skinny anyway.

TheAllNewOoooh · 24/01/2011 14:43

So much to catch up on when I'm limited to my iPhone! I love it but I need to type at least 100wpm to catch up with you lot.

So sorry about your DS Tracey. Surely the mother couldn't be so cruel as to deliberately exclude him? Hopefully the fact that it was only him points to an oversight. I really hope so, it would just be so unspeakably nasty otherwise. Sending the little man a virtual cuddle (although I doubt he would be that impressed with a hug from a random 30-something woman!).

Roman you had me laughing with the talk of camel-toeing!

Zembo I'm thinking about you too and hope that you had a much better night?

Fritzi you always come across as so calm and kind, I hope your

notyummy · 24/01/2011 14:50

Sorry to hear about your DS tracey - I feel for him. There seems so much more of it around at school than I can remember as a child - I think less people had parties then, and many parties are bigger, so the sense of exclusion can be worse.

Zembo - hope you are feeling alright today.

Bunny - Dukan may be worth a try. I am a half hearted convert in that the attack bit undoubtedly work, but I have never done the rest of it!! However anytime I have done the Attack (twice in 8 months) it has taken me to the point where I am below what Dr Dukan says should be my 'true weight' anyway, so then I then I think...'whats the point of faffing around avoiding salad for any longer?? I neeeed some green stuff'...and just go back to eating normally. To be fair, I have only ever put a little bit back on by doing that, and it has overall reduced the amount of carbs I eat.

Getting nervous now.

Bloody wish I didn't have to wait until 4 45 for it!!

Currently memorizing contents on a number of government White Papers....and I am not even sure if I want the bloody job!! Just want to come over well. You know how it is!

Thanks for the dress invite Mac - will have a look but MUST BE STRONG Grin

Oh, and just to brighten your days ladies, here is my quote of the week from one of my lovely friends at the weekend, when describing some sword, sex and sandals epic she has been watching on TV recently... Picture the scene.... three ladies, sipping cocktails in exclusive, beautifully dressed (!!)etc etc:

'I mean, I am all for some serious naked eye candy in True Blood, but I REFUSE to have to look at John Hannah's hairy scrawny nutsack whilst eating my dinner.'

Cue me snorting my Mojito up my nose and exhaling most of it over the bar Grin

macmama · 24/01/2011 14:54

Grin to Ltec re cuteness of own kids... oh yes I know!

?Here's a question ladies - do you think it's preferable (for you, personally) to be an 'okay' weight that you can maintain easily or a weight that you are properly happy with but that requires vigilance??

For me personally its the former but I think I am easily pleased. I am probably about 58kg (or something like that) right now although I don?t know as have not weighed myself since Xmas. I am totally slim enough for me. I could be thinner but I don?t want to be as I am happy as I am. And its no effort to maintain as long as I don?t eat dairy ie, I am not on a diet of any sort other than a non-dairy one ? but this seems to have kicked my metabolism into shape. I think my stomach has also shrunk so I am probably eating less overall but generally I am famous for the fact that I eat alot. Maybe once I stop Bfing DD2 completely my metabolism will change and i will put on weight. I wouldn?t like to have to watch what I was eating much more than I am now (as saying no to cakes, biscuits etc is enough sacrifice for me!) but I suspect that, now that I am this weight, I will stress if I put much weight on again (all my new clothes won?t fit!) and maybe then Dukan etc will look more appealing to me.

I wouldn?t want to be at my heaviest again (about 66kg!) as when I am that weight I find getting dressed much harder, don?t suit jeans very much etc but, at the same time, but I don?t think I looked particularly bad then either I actually looked better in some things (more curves). But I ate loads of cakes, chocolates, butter etc ? I think it was all this extra junk that slowed my metabolism down and made me carry weight.

Bonsoir · 24/01/2011 14:58

LTEC - I don't want to think about my weight other than very occasionally (I don't believe anyone who wants to stay slim and healthy can afford never to think about it).

Hence I am happy fluctuating between 56 and 59 kg. If ever I creep up over 59 kg, I start feeling a bit heavy and uncomfortable. Typically I am at my heaviest at the end of August - the school run (on foot, three times a day) and light lunches during the week keep me trim, and by the end of the summer holiday with lots of restaurants and little exercise, I have gained a kilo or so.

It all then falls into place in September!

At my post-pregnancy breastfeeding slimmest, I was about 53kg and rather thin (especially in my face). It would require heroic efforts of starvation to get back under 55kg and I wouldn't look great anyway. In fact, POL made a comment about me looking drawn around three weeks ago, when I was at 56kg. I'm sure I've put a kilo on since then (all those galettes des rois Blush) and I don't look so tired...

FritziGreenEyes · 24/01/2011 14:59

Oh tracey I almost cried (again) when reading about your DS. Hope his teacher can assure you that he is doing fine and that it is just his classmate's mother being silly for not inviting him.

Thanks for all your kind comments! Combination of me being extremely sensitive and in need of TLC and DH being overworked and unhappy with his job (not that he would admit it though) is difficult. Hope that we can sort things out....

marsha I bought a new diary today. If you want to I can pencil in your doctor's appointment and remind you Wink.

Bonsoir · 24/01/2011 15:03

Fritzi - can you and your DH schedule a romantic and restful weekend away sans DD anytime soon? It's such a cliché, but it can do so much for relationships to spend some time with no responsibilities (or reminders thereof).
