DD had such a relaxed and happy day ? she couldn?t quite believe her luck. Though she seems to be losing her voice and is rasping in a most alarming way ? almost as if her voice is breaking Confused at 2?! She really is a little sunshine girl though ? can?t quite believe my luck.

Alas DH was ill and in a foul mood this morning so I left him to sleep it off?luckily much better this afternoon so able to join in a bit. The cake was hideous but she loved it Grin?and I cunningly turned all the lights down and by candlelight it was beautiful.

Choo ? you will look fabulous in the Davina!

Carciofi ? love love love Clara ? what a gorgeous name.

Vino Grin at yellow dress love-in.

Dolcee ? holiday sounds wonderful!

Sad Zembo ? it?s so bloody unfair this pain you have to go through. I hope it starts easing soon (if it?s the same as mine ? it will).

Roman & Ollie ? I suspect the VWA dress could be o.k. for day dress down with the right boots etc?but I do know what you mean Roman about it being not quite sexy enough for pm.

Bloss ? lol at ?giving the 50 year olds a heart attack!??I?m sure they are strong enough

Pickled - DS has that lego book and loved it too!

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 20:32

twin aka llama Grin I'm not sure about the Malene Birger. It hangs slightly oddly on the mannequin - but ironically given our conversation I think it could benefit from being worn by someone with some curves and could look better IRL?

I was looking at this BR dress earlier. It ticks the boat-neck and Breton-esque boxes and could work for an Easter holiday? Are you off anywhere nice?

Having dispensed much wisdom about matronly blouses I couldn't resist buying the prettiest blush lace T-shirt in QA this afternoon even though it might fall into that category. It's not online yet so I can't link but it's quite loose fitted and when I brought it home DH thought it was like something my mum might wear Confused so I need to think how I can funk it up. Any ideas?

The asthma stories are just so sad. I think people forget because it's such a common affliction that it can be very serious. Well done you on the fundraising.

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 20:46

Oooh, those were exactly my thoughts about the Malene Birger. The mannequin looks like she needs a burger, of which I have two that I think would fill it nicely. I may take a punt.

Have also seen this, which I love, but imagine it is designed with someone lithe who has pert b-cups in mind.

LOVE the BR dress. That would be quite the holiday wardrobe addition. We're going to Cape Town, to see family largely, but have also got a few meals out planned and a little romantic getaway (taking advantage of having Mum around for babysitting).

Blouse sounds lovely, but am not person to seek advice on making funky. I always adopt the, put skinny jeans on and it will all be fine approach.

Glad DD, and you,had such a lovely day Hells.

pickledsiblings · 22/01/2011 20:46

hells, glad you had a great day

fritzi, thanks for the youtube link, hadn't seen it and enjoyed v. much

OWW, sob, sob , I must return the starry dress. DH says 'no' and I trust his judgement (ever since he sent me straight back into town with a whole lot of mumsy things i bought when I turned 40 Blush)

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 20:48

And yes, you're spot on about asthma - the statistics are quite alarming and people can be dismissive of those with it.

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 20:51

Carciofi Clara is on my list of names for a future DD, as is Lara. It's such fun, name choosing. I like the Nameberry website which you probably already know about and still go -on it even though I've no good reason to--.

There's a MNetter who has an enormously long thread about her struggle with severe ante- and post-natal depression all of which focuses around her overwhelming desire to have a DD (she has a DS whom she loves very much). I think she'd be interested to hear how common it is to want DDs, she really beats herself up about it.

Plum Grin at the rear of the year updates. By the way, TC apparently has a penchant for golden showers... I have never been able to look at him in the same light since discovering that...

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 20:59

Right, that's it, I need to plan a holiday. Two weeks in Cape Town with hot and cold running babysitting sounds exactly what I need! Very Envy

I think I had a playsuit almost identical to that when I was 16. I used to go braless in it!

LetThemEatCake · 22/01/2011 21:13

right, dressed. opted for sequins and for exactly red's reasons and then came back to see your post! brilliant, thanks. Re kids' activities I am avid reader of community noticeboards, plus those free mags you pick up in stores (families and the like) - I have real cabin fever issues with being at home, esp with the dc!! We also live right near the Horniman which is activity central. Fancy coming to story telling tomorrow? Grin

plum keep wincing, get all you can from that bum of yours

hells glad dd had a lovely time - and you too, you soppy lovely mum

oooh are you around the 'hood this week? fancy a coffee?

oh yes, holidays. We have the usual Cornwall camping/ caravan thing at easter, a cottage in Devon for a week and also a holiday in Greece to stay with rellys who own hotel there. All of which fades into insignificance in comparison to THE BIG MOVE HOME later this year. Be still my homesick heart

have good nights everyone.

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 21:18

Very jealous that you have a sequin worthy Saturday night, Cake. Knock 'em dead!

Am not around this week, but am next Monday or Tuesday?

LetThemEatCake · 22/01/2011 21:25

ooh am meeting your twin red tues week shall we all join forces?

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 21:30

I tried the VWA Breton today and wasn't convinced. The fabric was a little scratchy , the hems were unfinished and it gave me lopsided boobs. I can't remember who said this, but yes you're right that it didn't have much by way of clever ruching.

The devilish QA ladies were whipping out a red and navy VWA as I was leaving the shop which looked lot more interesting, with rouchy bits and everything. I think it is the one Tracey liked the look of. Managedto get out before my credit card took a further battering.

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 21:31

That sounds perfect. See if you can tell us apart Grin.

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 22:02

Would so love to be at story-telling instead of exchanging pleasantries with MiL while DH and his Step-Dad build a fence.

I do need to come over Horniman way more, Sis getting married is on Dev Road, nr nature reserve, so have no excuses really. She's always encouraging me to get involved. Enjoy this evening.

Looking forward to meeting you next Tuesday Oooh. Red and Navy VWA was gorgeous, would be understandable if you felt drawn back to QA.

Think we have a wedding dress

bunnymother · 22/01/2011 23:41

Super quick post. Have been meaning to apologise for not responding to various comments and questions directed to me. I read and smile or think of an answer but then a baby cries and I am off and then forget. Dear me, dozy Bunny.

Roma - as you are w other people's DDs, so I am w. I would have liked at least 1 DD and one DS, but not to be. And I am forever asked whether I shouldn't have another DC so DH can have a son. Shock Archaic thinking. I adore my DDs, but would have liked a boy, too. And not to please DH.

Dolce - so nice that you look at our blog. It certainly doesn't lack content! Grin

re Nine West shoe boots - they are ugly and will be returned. Too clodhoppery. Plum - are the M&S ones you have, comfy?

Zembo - take care, lovely.

Btw where can I find Janice in a 10 (if she is true to size?) do we think? She isn't at Westfield and I think I need her.

Biggish purchase looming, though - I have disocovered that I need a new pram, so am getting the Baby Jogger City Select. £850 w the necessary accessories. DH not delighted. Have promised to sell Phil & Teds, so about to become an eBay seller. Oooh I do hope the buyers will be gentle w me Smile

happy birthday mini Hells!!

Am sure have missed lots - sorry!!

bunnymother · 22/01/2011 23:42

notyummy · 23/01/2011 00:34

Whimsy= whilst

VerityBrulee · 23/01/2011 01:48

NY sounds like a perfect weekend, you deserve it after the week you've had.

Bunny I love prams Blush I managed to get through 9 with 3 dc. I always wanted a red one but just couldn't find one, then the Bugaboo came along about 3 months after I'd bought a 3 wheeler for newborn dd. I nearly had another baby just so I could have a red bugaboo. Then when I looked after my friend's dd, she had a bugaboo and I discoved it is the emperor's new clothes of the pram world, not a patch on the prams I had pushed before. No need for another baby so!

Carciofi fantastic news about dd2 Grin Sorry your trip has been scuppered though. Have you been following all the political machinations going on here? You couldn't make it up, it would be hilarious if we weren't in such a shambles economicaly. How is your dad's business doing? Hope he is hanging in there, it's a scary time.

Hells sorry the dr put you through all that worry, our's does that reglarly, leaves cryptic messages which make my imagination run roit. Very annoying. Hopefully it will all be sorted out soon for you.

Zembo sorry you are in pain, I really hope the prescription helps quickly.

OWW I am quite taken with that navy anglomania too, love navy and draping, although I am trying to inject more colour into my wardrobe this season. It is lovely though.

Bloss and Cake v Envy of your evenings out, outfits sounded gorgeous Smile Bloss, much jublilation here as Leinster through to quarter finals of H cup. Which is your team? Maybe we'll meet in the final, but we'd have to wear rugby jerseys to that meet-up, so maybe not!

Vin so happy about the yellow dress, I love VBruno dresses. Have you noticed how many of us there are with initials VB Wink

Plum Ok, I want the full details of your skincare regime - you look like a teenager. I would be milking my injury for all it's worth BTW, considering how dh behaves when he has a sniffle.

V Envy of all these mini meet-ups. Kildare and I will have to have one in BTs. Rufus are you around? Dying to know how you are getting on with the derma roller thingy!

I can't believe I am here in the middle of the night. As I am among friends, I will admit it is Don Draper keeping me awake! We watched the final 2 episodes of series 4, and the shock of a happy ending has driven me to insomnia. I am incredibly soppy, and hate sad/miserable/challenging endings but I am so accustomed to expecting them that I just can't believe that my screen crush finally has something to smile about. Aaah. Of course I won't be smiling when dd wakes me up at the crack of dawn for a snuggle.

bunnymother · 23/01/2011 03:26

Err, I forgot what I had wanted to say most of all - Carciofi - CONGRATULATIONS on your little DD2-to-be and what a beautiful name! V elegant.

everything - thanks for the tip, will try Gumtree first. Also because I have sold through that before so find it nice and easy and there are no listing fees. Glad to hear you have had a lovely time w your dad, sounds good for the soul.

Verity - oh dear, sounds like you really do love prams! See, I have never gone crazy for them (see them as my work horse), but this one is special (mentally strokes shiny new www.twins-store.co.uk/Baby-Jogger-City-Select-Tandem-Buggy-in-stock pram in creepy Golum fashion). Mmm, Don Draper, quite nice (BAD BUNNY, DON'T BE LEWD)

OWW - loving the look of the Breton VWA!

Cakey - ooh, really purple ASOS dress - report back?

notyummy - blissful sounding weekend! And Super Mr Yummy at the helm at home again, what a treasure he is.

bunnymother · 23/01/2011 04:10

BTW should I get a BaByliss Big Hair thing? My hair is fine and pretty straight, so blow dryer is fine, only can't use if DD1 is asleep as will wake her. So wondering if BaByliss is quiet AND worth getting?

AntPants1 · 23/01/2011 07:05

bunny size 10 Janice on John lewis website last time I looked..

blossoming · 23/01/2011 07:14

Morning all!
I'm a bit fragile. Not a good idea to be the one drinking (free bar), and be the one on early shift! Plus ds isn't feeling well.
bunny, I hope you're getting some sleep now!
verity, no Welsh teams left in Heineken Cup. We're Ospreys supporters. We've just started on Mad Men series 1. I didn't realise there was 4 to get through! Just watching one episode on a Saturday night is going to take us years! We both love it though. Those programmes are rare! Where is rufus? She hasn't been around for ages has she?
Last night I wore the ruched jersey dress with opaques, shoeboots and the grey Pure jacket. Dh said I looked fantastic. My dad said the jacket was longer than my skirt..!
We took the long way so we could go past the school I'm applying for a job in. It took 55 mins. Doable.
Back later.

blossoming · 23/01/2011 07:17

Meant to say, bunny the navy janice is sold out everywhere I think. but the stripey one is new season.

Romanholiday · 23/01/2011 07:39

Morning everyone. NY sounds lovely and what a perfect message from your dh

Bunny I would recommend Babyliss. It's not particularly quite, but much better way of drying your hair than a hairdryer. Mine (quite fine but v.plentiful) looks more shiny and salony.

Verity I'm also trying to resist the lure of navy/black/etc
