vin - yes, I must leave the apartment to find them, I fear!

I bought a very nice suspender belt in the sales but it really does require stockings to serve any kind of fun purpose Wink

vin, I didn't realise it was for liver disease. I used to get all the literature too as dc2 had a liver problem (biliary atresia??/prolonged jaundice) when she was born and we spent time in Birmingham children's hospital's liver unit. When we took her home, it cleared up. I credit the sea air in Aberystwyth where we lived at the time. They were amazed when we went back to clinic. I remember being horrified years later when she had been in pre school on Children in Need day and they'd painted her face yellow like Pudsy! Maybe that's why I don't like yellow any more.
Glad you like the dress, and fantastic effort!
I just sent a cheque for £1k to two charities because familyvsnd friends did donations again this Christmas instead of gifts. They went to UHW neonatal ICU and Bobath children's therapy centre - for children with CP.

ltec, I thought I'd replied last night about your red HH dress. I think it looks perfect for you. I also loved that breton jumper you linked to, again perfect for you, not perfect for a girl who likes tailored!

carciofi, I'm laughing you changed the colour of your sofa again. And re the scarf, ad you're such a scarf addict, why not add a McQueen one to your collection?

zembo, sorry to hear of your pains. Hope it improves from now on.

I've been wondering what to wear to this party tonight. I wanted to wear the ruched IO with shoeboots, but then DH mumbled something about giving the 50yr olds a heart attack. It's in a cafe though. Bec would be too much I think. Stick with the IO?!

Go on bloss wear the ruched IO with RB shoeboots tonight!

We also donated to different charities in December in the hope that it makes a little difference for some families. Felt very humbled after reading about Riven's story yesterday...

Good luck with applications bloss and vin!

I'm making Leon's superfood salad tonight. DH was already a bit Hmm when he saw all the broccoli, peas and other green stuff in the kitchen.

AntPants1 · 22/01/2011 18:31

vin Boden have some yellow pumps and a yellow patent bag. I bought the yellow pumps last summer and just love them and have just bought the bag which is just lovely for the summer. Am planning to wear with capris or slouchy wide leg linen trousers. Will find and link.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/01/2011 18:42

bonsoir Not cashmere, but something like this or

this?

cream???

You'll probably have more luck in one of the glamorous Parisian dep stores.

FritziGreenEyes · 22/01/2011 19:00

For all Scott Schumann fans, who haven't seen it yet:

LetThemEatCake · 22/01/2011 19:13

*roma8 You are not a horroble person - I struggle massively with jealousy when people tell me they are pg with a girl. It's the weirdest thing, as I adore my boys and if I had another dc, would probably 'prefer' another boy but it's my default reaction harking back to after we lost dd1. I can't really explain it but I do struggle and have to kind of fix a smile in place.

Weirdly, the clothes aspect of having a dd is one of the aspects I enjoy least!!! go figure!!

Nice work on the yellow dress Vin Grin And good work on all your work for charity, well done.

Zembo glad the doctor is not concerned and hope you get some relief soon.

Great news on the success of the stripey Janice!

what did you decide on for party tonight bloss? I am toying with either rats, shoe boots, gold lurex sweater, lots of long necklaces OR sequin short dress, opaques etc. Or red Paul & Joe? Any suggestions ladies? It's a private room above a pub, kind of an arty crowd.

Party this arvo for the dc was good and day went well due to going to library craft session where they shook glitter around to their hearts' content (and I revelled in the knowledge that I would not be clearing it up) and then stories and lots of books borrowed to see us through the next few weeks (have already packed all of the books)

loobylu3 · 22/01/2011 19:17

yellow bag for vin

have you seen this? I love the colour!

AntPants1 · 22/01/2011 19:18

The Kew website is starting to get SS stuff in...I am just so bored of sales stuff now. Feel that I have pretty much trawlled everything now in the sale and just want new things to look at...

Anyway these scoop tops are great. I already have several in various colours. They have bit of elasticine in them so they keep their shape www.kew-online.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/new-for-spring/Double-Front-Scoop/30

Will also be getting some stripes www.kew-online.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/new-for-spring/Stripe-Scoop-Top/99902792

AntPants1 · 22/01/2011 19:22

zembo. So sorry about the pains. Just not what you need. Could they be after pains. I do not know how many weeks you were but the further you were into your pregnancy you were the more likely they are. I lost a baby at 20 weeks, was my second pregnancy, and had really bad after pains for a while. I was pretty much doubled up when they came on. Just a thought

pickledsiblings · 22/01/2011 19:28

Jusk a quick non S&B related recommendation: lego minifigure sticker book 2 for £9 in WHSmith. This is such a fab book for lego mad DC, can't recommend it enough and such a bargain if you have a WHSmiths nearby but also reduced on Amazon as per link.

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 19:33

Oooh our twin status is really developing. Matronly is exactly the word. I'm also short (5ft 3") so don't feel particularly counter-balanced. I also am no good in heels; bad eyesight means I have no peripheral vision and struggle with balancing at the best of times. Maybe I do need a wedge in my life. DD is just over 4 months and the gap between stopping bf'ing DS and getting pregnant again wasn't big enough to have any idea about my eventual boob size. Let's promise to link to anything suitable for our size!

Vin, the event you're organising sounds brilliant. And the VB dress is gorgeous. You're a winter, right?

We do quite a lot of fund-raising for Asthma UK, as DH's dad died from an asthma attack when he was 2. His mum was widowed at 25 with a 2 year old and an 8 week old. All the more pertinent now as the friend who DH is at the wake of also died of complications related to an asthma attack. Is incredibly tragic, she was 33 and had just met 'the one'. Puts everything into perspective.

Cake, you always seem to be doing such fab things your children - where do you hear about it all? Go for sequin dress - winter may be over soon and the options for wearing it dramatically reduced.

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 19:35

Opportunities, not options. How do I turn off auto-correct. Someone help me!

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 19:52

Thoughts on this? I'm thinking about my Easter holiday quite a lot.

dexter73 · 22/01/2011 19:53

I love the name Clara, and also it reminds me of being in Barcelona!

PlumSykes · 22/01/2011 20:24

Evening,

Rear Of The Year Update: am feeling much better, though milking it as best I can, much dramatic wincing and weakly straining to reach things.

DH out at cinema, I am watching a prog I recorded during the week-Kidnap and Ransom. Is rubbish, and a bit confusing, but has Trevor Eve being all manly. He is my big crush, all ruggedly silver fox, but .

Interesting to hear you all talk about feeling re having/not having a girl. Friend who has severely disabled DD once told me how jealous she was of women who had 'healthy' girls, and when her sister got pregnant she was just praying that she would not have a girl-which she didn't. She now has a 2nd child, a boy, but I wonder if she still feels the same about girls.

Bloss, friend has just brought home her baby from UHW neo-natal, so thank you so much for your huge donation.

Vin, pleased the dress is good on you. It IS lovely, see?

Cake, what did you decide? Rats?
