OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 22/01/2011 09:54

Me too Fritzi! Smile. I have planted many blossom trees in the garden and love it when they are in flower Smile.

Agree on the canvas thing. Plus a huge London dirt magnet I should think. And I like your reasons too, I don't want to spend that much.

Happy birthday to your dd Hells!

carciofi · 22/01/2011 10:18

What do you think of the Alexander McQueen skull scarves? Too late or a tribute?!

AllBuggiedOut · 22/01/2011 11:12

Delighted that you are trying out some of the asos stuff cake - you can let us know what's worth ordering Grin And good luck with excited children. 11-1 is the best time for a kids' party IMHO!

marsha I agree with fritzi - the boots are stunning but I would guess opportunities to wear them would be severely limited.

Happy birthday hells's DD.

Lazy day here; the boys are making spy passports for themselves, and I am rummaging through cupboards trying to find stuff to e-bay! Out for a meal at friend's this evening. Think it may be a Jancie-kind of night Smile

DolceeBanana · 22/01/2011 11:23

Happy birthday baby Hells...and relief about the results...

Fritzi...Glad you are feeling better ! Am excited about our holiday as managed to get beautiful house near the sea with 2 acres of gardens for the children to play in. It all looks very chic yet the owner assures me its also v hardwearing!!! So everyone can relax. We are going at the start of the summer hols for 2 weeks, and am already planning what we shall take etc... Can't wait!

We are also off to France for Easter hols...where are you going this year?

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 22/01/2011 11:31

dolcee France for Easter sounds great as does the house you are staying in! Apart from one week on the farm in June we haven't anything planned yet. DD will start school at the beginning of August and I hope we can organise a week somewhere reliably warm with a beach and fabulous food. I thought Greece might be nice but I have never been there.

redllamayellowllama · 22/01/2011 12:58

Hope the late-night haul bears fruit, Cake. Like the dress you linked to very much, but think I need to start dressing for my shape - big boobs + loose fitting top = swamped. Need something that will showcase my waist, whilst playing down these silly breasts of mine. Have hated them forever.

All these posts about holidays and buds in the garden are getting me excited about SS. Have just seen this, which I tried on and looked good, but was in a flustered baby about to cry rush. Do we think it can be worn with flats for a day look, or heels only?

Thanks for WIT link Fritzi, will forward it on in the hope it gets her dress juices flowing.

Sitting in over-tidied house waiting for in-laws. Does anyone else do the frantic house must be clean for MiL thing? I don't really care what she thinks but it's the one thing I'm funny about.

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 13:30

Hi llama. I'm the same as you up top and was looking at the HH thinking I could never get away with that as I just look matronly whenever I have a blousy top which is nipped in at the waist. I think it's even less flattering because I'm short.

So I can either do neat/structured - which I do most of the time - or looser shapes which don't emphasise the waist but nor do they make a feature of my boobs either.

I've hated mine forever too - but actually since I stopped breastfeeding (all of 3 weeks ago) they seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate and, crazily, I'm beginning to miss them. Just rather apprehensive about what I am going to be left with!

How old is your little one?

PS The jumpsuit is uber cute.

Zembo · 22/01/2011 14:13

Hi ladies. Happy birthday to little Hells!

Thanks for concern re my ongoing post-mc pains. I saw the GP yesterday and she prescribed an anti-spasmodic. Not what I expected but happy to give anything a go. The pain is exactly as you describe Hells - total agony when I get it. Went to town this morning but had to abort trip due to having one of my episodes. Good job I took DH with me so he could drive us back!!

Dolcee your holiday home by the sea sounds amazing. Where is it?

Tracey are you feeling better now?

*Fritz

Zembo · 22/01/2011 14:15

Sorry on iPhone watching Dd have her swimming lesson!!

Meant to say glad you're feeling better Fritzi

AntPants1 · 22/01/2011 14:24

Hello all. Just bought the strippy Janice. To those of you who kindly advised me regarding bust size you were right even with my 34Fs it looked good. A truly amazing dress! Many thanks for the tip.
X

Hurrah for yellow vin

I hope everyone else is feeling OK. How's your bum, plum ? Sounds grim Zembo, but good that the docs don't seem concerned I suppose.

Congratulations on dd Carciofi . I confess I wince with jealousy when people tell me they're expecting dds. I have psyched myself up to say congratulations Blush . Not v.proud and would not ever ever admit to that in rl, but there we are. ABO do you know where I'm coming from??? I'm a horrible person.

Well, we're in Bxl, it's raining, and today has so far involved Decathlon and media markt. Luckily dh has cheerily gone to supermarket on his own. No invitations to glam events for anyone in the family over 8 years old, so I am organising a party for Feb to cheer myself up, not to mention give me a dress-wearing oppo. Were going to go to Paris but are having some boring admin probs that make planning hard and mean we have to keep cancelling trips.

I love MadameC's VWA Ollie . I have v.similar in pink from last year's Liberty sale, and it was one of last year's best buys for me. But you do need to consider wearability. It's knee-length, with sleeves etc so not necessarily the sexy look you'd want of an evening, but because the cut and fabric is figure revealing, it's a bit sexy for day. I've actually worn mine out to dinner and grown-up cocktails a lot, and would do with the navy too, so have wish-listed it in case it comes back in in xs.

Romanholiday · 22/01/2011 14:46

Now, did anyone want my grey Iro sleeveless jumper dress or pink Wolford rollneck top. Both 8-10?

Bonsoir · 22/01/2011 14:58

The weather here is vile, Roma - you aren't missing anything.

I am using DD's eczema flare-up as an excuse for me not to leave the apartment (her eczema improves in a warm dry environment where she needn't wear many clothes). We had a massive family try on of ski clothes this morning and DP and DSS2 have just popped out to Decathlon to buy gloves and trousers. DSS1 is going to wear my ski trousers this year (I borrow his jeans sometimes, so it's all fair game) Smile. He was very pleased as I have really nice black Killy ski trousers - much nicer than the Decathlon ones DP would have bought him.

Yellow is a lovely colour, vin - I have yellow cotton/linen summer trousers, yellow mid-season cords, a yellow cashmere cardigan and now my Céline yellow bag (still waiting for it's first outing). I used also to have a really fab yellow silk Marni dress, but have lost it Sad.

I want to buy stockings - to wear with suspenders - but not just boring black ones. I want fine cashmere rib - where can I find such a thing?

Vin what's the yellow day? I think I missed a key post Confused

More poignant for you of course re dds - I was being very tactless. I am quite sure I would feel the same about baby boys if things were the other way round. It's just a feeling that I'm a bit short changed.

And if you make yourself available to a proper boyfriend (that is to say one who improves your quality of life and the way you feel about yourself) then you could have shedloads of dcs Grin

Romanholiday · 22/01/2011 15:10

Oh good Bonsoir

Not that it's not vile here too, of course, but anyway.... you know what I mean...

TheAllNewOoooh · 22/01/2011 15:19

I am liking all the yellow talk - I think it might actually suit me, although it is going to take me a while to come to terms with that. I've dipped my toe in gently with my yellow Anthropologie bag which I am loving. The blue version is also very nice.

(Almost said I had dipped my toes into the yellow water then ... ugh.)

Another one here with mild jealousy about little DDs. The clothes although I think that might prove the quicker route to bankruptcy for me.

Back from shopping trip and I am def going back tomorrow to get iphone! Really needed some advice re a French Connection dress so wish I could have posted pic whilst in changing room. Friend convinced me to try this on but in a dark grey/blue colour. Half price in the sale. Really comfy as its stretchy material but heavy so holds you in. Like the colour and fit but just wasn't sure if it was a little too 'footballers wivés' (rouching and trailing panel at the back) - or if I was unsure due to not having tried anything similar before now. Something to ponder but appreciate any views.

Friend brought 2 LBDs. I brought a black and white breton from H&M. Guess who was more excited with their purchases (clue: not me!)

Roman - Thanks for info on VW stuff am going to wait and see how my budget fairs next month before considering buying! Read what you said re baby girls with interest. The only time I get a pang is when I see a little girl/baby dressed in adorable clothes and then I think what if...?

Love the name Clara (Carfiofi).
Vin so pleased you have discovered your inner yellow! The dress obviously makes you so happy. I love it when that happens!

pickledsiblings · 22/01/2011 15:48

Afernoon ladies

Loving all the talk of yellow, roll on Spring. Vin. can't wait to see your pic.

OWW, I come in a little under five foot (about 3 inches actually but usually try to make that bit up with heels). The starry dress is fairly short I would say but if the fit was right and it just skimmed your hips it would look good with opaques. I hope you manage to try it on today.

Happy Birthday to DD hells, hope you have a great day together.

I can identify with the 'DD' thing. I can remember feeling somewhat 'superior' to the other mums in the huge baby changing room at Bluewater because I had a girl and they all had boys Grin. Weird isn't it.

Ants, the stripy Janice is such a great dress for SS with its broader stripes. You ladies really are ahead of curve (or whatever the expression is for picking up trends before they get Grazia-ed).

Bit of a musicfest here today: violin this morning, piano and singing this afternoon all for DD of course. I would love to have singing lessons and I quite often join in when she is practising, especially when she is singing in Italian Envy.

Zembo, sorry to hear that you still have pains. Hopefully the new meds will sort things out.

Got to run, will check back later.

Oh NY, hope you are having a fabby time up North.

pickledsiblings · 22/01/2011 15:53

OWW x posts, did you see the starry dress today?
