What a manic day. Didn't even get chance to sit down at work and link to my favourite NAP wedding dresses Grin.

Redllama I've been meaning to say happy birthday for Tuesday! We could be twins were I not 5 years older than you. You, me and Kevin Costner! Didn't know I was in such good company.

Did you ever manage to set up a SE London bookclub? I'm in that neck of the woods too and could do with a prod to read something decent.

I find it too hard to pry myself away from MN but am with the Daily Mail haters although am a complete hypocrite and do frequent the sleb pics online. Other than their bigotry and fear mongering I hate the fact that their journalists are the highest paid on Fleet Street (much more so than the broadsheets apparently) and then they cynically dumb down their journalism. Ugh.

Sophable thanks to your review of the Sam Edelman ballerinas they found their way into my basket and should be winging their way to me.

So glad Breton's not over yet. Am nervous about the colour blocking business and not quite ready to let go of my stripes...

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 21:34

Thanks Ooooh, you too! I am still very keen to set up a book club. Would you care to be a founding member? You've hit the nail on the head with your Mail analysis.

Esher, are you a size 6 by any chance?

Have just finished making a cake for MiL's 60th tomorrow. They're staying here after her birthday treat of seeing Strictly at the 02, DH at a friend's wake (which obviously I don't begrudge him), so will be me at home washing up, feeling resentful and all alone with the I-pad. Dangerous.

Glad to hear that you were finally enlightened Hells and that things look really good.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/01/2011 21:40

I'm feeling much better today: Early morning yoga, lovely new babysitter and back from dinner with DH. Will catch up on thread and see what you all have been up to.

TheAllNewOoooh · 21/01/2011 21:53

Actually llama I think I would! Let's do it! Any other takers?

I saw earlier today that they are televising The Crimson Petal And The White which must be one of my favourite books and they've only gone and cast ... what's she called ... Romana something or other. Will Google in a bit but I remember her from other period dramas and she's of the hammy overacting variety. What a waste.

I think you need to spend your way out of your resentment.... a bit of Bret perhaps?

CHOOGIRL · 21/01/2011 22:01

Evening ladies.

Ears currently bleeding after being in very noisy city winebar. Left early (unknown for choo)

Cake I do not like the HH. Material very shiny and because I have curves it looks a bit maternity. Also for £300 at full price, I would expect to take it out of the MW box, stroke it, and feel excited. I didn't.

Still awaiting LV scarf. Apparently they have still to arrive in Europe Hmm

On the other hand, have just taken delivery of Davina which whilst I haven't tried it on yet, am sure I will love. May need some nude Louboutins to go with them.

Have made almost £300 on Quidco; £300 on ebay; so am definitely up this month Smile

Off to catch up on posts.

blossoming · 21/01/2011 22:05

Oh choo, how much do I love the davina. Oh to have your life. You will look amazing in it. HH? What's that?!

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 22:08

If you mean Romola Garai, I'm most unimpressed. We saw King Lear in Stratford-upon-Avon with Ian McKellen, Frances Barber and her playing Cordelia. Amongst such luminaries, she was an embarrassment, it was like watching a 6th form play. She's been consistently underwhelming in everything I've seen her.

I'm toying with these, although wondering if the gladiator has had it's day. Also, is it a bit early to be making summer purchases? Or wise to be taking advantage of the price?

Yes, anyone else SE-way interested in a book club?

CHOOGIRL · 21/01/2011 22:09

HH bloss. Went to the VW shop last week to look at the breton irl, but unfortunately they didn't have it in stock.

I think DT will look amazing in the red Davina

bollocks not sure now what to do about the HH ...

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 22:16

Spotify is amazing Everything, I get all excited when something I haven't heard comes on and I love it. So clever.

I see what you mean about the HH shininess, but it is part of the appeal for me- my inner Russian gymnast. It is quite a bit lighter than shown in the My-W pic.

The Davina is gorgeous. No place for a dress like that in my life, but I wish there was.

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 22:24

fritzi so glad you are feeling better

everything sorry for the awkward convo with your mum

Another Spotify fan here. We do tidying up at the end of the day to music. Tonight's choice was bLack Eyed Peas, I Gotta Feeling. Such a good party song. Must add to farewell party playlist.

red how do you plan to wear the HH? Day, night? I kind of liked the idea of with flats by day, with metallic heels by night but if it is super shiny then maybe it is not nursery run/ supermarket/ Costa appropriate?? Also - how tall are you? If it would be short on me that would deffo make it more evening appropriate and I have enough eveningy dresses. Sorry for all the questions!

let's leave meet up for Tues and my ds1 is in nursery Thurs. Baby L thinks he's a big boy anyway so they can play!

Experienced soft play hell today and escaped to the calm of the library. Love that my dc are book mad. Nothing better than sitting with L on lap and with P and C under each arm, curled up beside me, reading to them. Bliss.

TheAllNewOoooh · 21/01/2011 22:25

Yes! Romola Garai. I remember now - I watched her in Angel when I'd just had DS so was stuck on the sofa in the manic feeding stage and her performance was positively turn-offable. 6th form is just right. She must have a good agent though, Sugar is such a juicy part.

I wore these all last summer but actually prefer the ones you have linked to - yours have a bit more edge to them. I'm not sure where glads fit in this year though - I think wedges are going to be the thing - although it's always handy to have flats... that's no use at all is it!

I'm trying to avoid buying too far ahead because my house is too stuffed as it is and I have a complete boot fetish which I keep trying to indulge. I've decided I need at least 2 more pairs before the winter is out and people keeping linking to Belstaffs...

blossoming · 21/01/2011 22:25

Yes, inner Russian gymnast. That's what it says to me too. Thing is, some of us just need tailoring!

loobylu3 · 21/01/2011 22:29

Just back from a family meal out and finally sitting down after putting DC to bed!

cake- I'm actually mixed race too- same as you but the opposite way around. Does that make sense?

Love that Davina dress choo- twas on the v leggy, Nigerian model. I adore the red especially!

Was Romola Garai in the recent adaptation of Austen's Emma?

Happy belated b/days red and Oooh. Was my sister's 30th on Wednesday and a close friends b/day today. She is off to some lovely hotel for the weekend Envy

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 22:30

does this say that to you too bloss? I have this but value your opinion so don't feel that you need to be kind!

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 22:31

anyone who liked the Ash wedges of today (as soon to be seen on roma and zembo) here are similar but even cheaper - amazingly they are leather! Shock

TheAllNewOoooh · 21/01/2011 22:42

Thanks looby! Yes I think she was in that too. Gets everywhere, don't know why.

I keep looking longingly at summer platforms like these. Shame that my lifestyle is much more suited to these!

oooh what days did you say are good for you for se meet up?

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 22:45

Right, am now thrown. I think I love the dress, but it actually does me no favours. DH says I look like some kind of super-hero, but in a bad way. Definitely not day-wear and, although it makes my waist look tiny, it's not making e rest of me look so tiny. Is well above knee on me at 5ft 3", so short on you. And have persuaded self to return. Oh, I wanted to love it so much. Any other nice dresses to fill similar void?

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 22:48

Oooh, think I will get the Ash sandals. We're going to Cape Town at Easter and think they'll be a wise purchase with that in mind.

Thank you for birthday wishes Looby, hope you had a lovely meal.

FritziGreenEyes · 21/01/2011 22:48

esher I have the Ash Kirsty wedge boots too and love them. So comfortable! Your coat looks great!

zembo I am worried about you and also about one of my friends who had several MCs over the past few years. She never talks about it but I god knows how she might feel... Hope you get help with cramps at doctor's.

everything If I was anywhere near you, I would hop into the car and help carry boxes! How is your voice today?

Welcome countless!

Great offers on Question Air and Flannels website. Hope they don't deliver to Europe or I might be tempted...

Oh bunny hope the stereo screaming is going to be a short phase only. Do the twins sleep at the same time too so you can get a nap during the day while wondernanny looks after DD1?

hf Strange about the little girl missing parties but maybe there is a problem in the family?

notyummy Enjoy your girly weekend. You really have deserved a break after such a week...

blossoming So excited about your future working wardrobe. Love that black and white polka dot dress.

dolcee Your DH sounds very caring! Porridge and soup are just the right things to help your body get rid of the nasty cold Smile.

bonsoir I'm impressed with your stylish purchase list for January Smile.

ollie BR dress is great!

cake Your have such an active social life and fabulous frocks to wear! You'll be like a fresh breath of air in your new neighbourhood Smile.

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 22:49

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 22:53

tres Marant, non?

I really should put all links in one post and stop wasting space on the thread. Or go to bed, that might be even better for your collective enjoyment!!
