Thanks carciofi!

red what uk size are you usually?

traceybath · 21/01/2011 17:40

Feeling a bit better as day progresses and DH is bringing curry home for dinner as I've gone on strike Wink

Hells - hope its all ok and agree thats pretty standard procedure here too.

The Daily Mail - oh I look at the website most days for my lowbrow celeb updates Smile Like Bunny I'm using the reverse playboy argument Grin.

Zembo · 21/01/2011 17:44

Cake Grin at galoshes - just the thing for spring weather then, go on just order them!

hells hope GP has called you back and everything is ok. I'd have called them back by now otherwise.

florenceuk · 21/01/2011 17:45

Just an alert - Yoox have put through more reductions - I've bought these ankle boots. So I'll add this to the list of buys this month....

Now stylish ladies what would you wear to a parent's night out - drinks at the local All Bar One? Jeans and a nice top?

Bonsoir · 21/01/2011 17:46

strike sounds like an excellent idea, tracey Smile. I'm feeling slightly despondent at the thought of the second weekend in a row with the DSSs (schedules gone awry, beyond my control) and all those meals to concoct. The fridge is bulging with food but I can guarantee there will be nothing left at all by dinner time on Sunday Sad.

I would like to buy a belt... a sparkly Deepa Gurnani one, like my hairbands. But can I find one online?! Any pointers?

loobylu3 · 21/01/2011 17:48

Masses to catch up on as usual!

carciofi- congratulations on another lovely DD! Clara is so pretty :)
Fingers crossed that PP situation may improve (although obviously depends on the grade). A planned CS could be an advantage after first DC.

zembo- definitely go and have an exam'n/ USS if you are still in pain 1/12 or so later. I'm sure your Dsis would be so sorry if she knew. It sounds as if she really looks up to you- lovely compliment!

LTEC- you may be tired but you still look fabulous- so many people on here vouch for that! several DC +/- work +/- social life= exhaustion, no?
Am feeling jealous of all these lovely London meet ups red, bunny reine and others!

plum- lovely wedding photos. You have beautiful, youthful skin!

hells- don't panic re bld test results. I'm sure everything is fine or just mildly abn eg mild anaemia. I'm sure the GP will call you when they have finished eve surgery :)

roman- how wonderful to have a house/ villa in Tuscany! You lucky thing!

bunny- you really are hilarious when you write which is amazing considering how exhausted you must be at the moment! It's a great quality to be able to giglle at yourself! Thx for compliments on your family. I saw the pics of your DD1 before and wondered whether she might be mixed race like mine. She is v beautiful anyway and I'm sure the twins are too (although haven't seen their pics)

OOoh- haven't got time to join in chats re ageing etc now but I hope that you are feeling more buoyant about your appearance now. I bet you are stunning! Most women have a tendency to put themselves down and find flaws in their appearance. While youth is v appealing, sometimes the content, confident in their own skin appearance of a slightly more mature woman is actually far more attractive anyway :)

bloss- is your jacket the new Janice!?

red- that's great that someone has bought the purple HH! Wedding dress shopping sounds fun. I have actually managed to never set foot in a single wedding dress shop. Was Pg at the time of my wedding so didn't go down that route but feeling I may have missed out after some of those links!

NY- I hope your friend likes her hamper. It looks like a lovely choice :)
Will post a link later to something she may possibly be interested in but would leave you to judge..

blossoming · 21/01/2011 17:49

llama, I haven't bought from Wrap in years; since I made an expensive mistake with a yellow jumper! They've gone more casual recently, and they have a lot of slate/greys so I'm coming round again!
They have a nice Breton t aswell, although, gasp, I may be slightly over it now!

PlumSykes · 21/01/2011 18:02

Thank you all for your bum-related wishes. Grin

My dear mum came over with super-painkillers she had stashed away Hmm which have made the day go by quite nicely. Spent afternoon cosied up on sofa, watching a old Robert Mitchum war movie and being brought tea. Totally worth falling over for! Although, being roundly laughed at in the playground was a leetel embarrassing. Had no choice be to tell that I had fallen over and broken my bum, given that I am walking like I've been, well... anyway. Have read Grazia and post-it noted the Mini Boden catalogue, lots of things I like for DD, whose current Pirate Queen look is not easily found on the high street. I did manage to make a delish-smelling Jamie O cauliflower and chickpea curry for supper though.

Any chance I can get away with another day of lazy, since it's the weekend and DH will be around? No, though not.

NY gave me the Red details, Cake, but thank you.

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 18:14

Over Breton?! Did feel a wave of that yesterday as Oxfam rail heaving with stripy bits.

Like you Oooh, knew nothing when wedding dress shopping and, in hindsight, would have gone for Temperley or some such. Looby, think you had a lucky escape!

Cake, am a 10, occasionally an 8, but very occasionally. Really thought they were conning me into ordering a 2, but it appears not. Might this make you a size 0? Grin

hellsbelles · 21/01/2011 18:20

The good news is I'm not hurtling into menopause but have elevated SHGB levels...no idea really what that means! I am getting referred to a gynecologyst. I did a little bit of googling which is not a good idea - and actually it's all rather unhelpful...I've stopped now.

Will catch up later - can't wait for checking out links etc...

I am a slightly more relaxed after my 5 hour wait of imagining the worst..though not actually sure what the problem is now!?

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 18:20

Plum, your posts are hilarious. Glad you're feeling a bit better after some tlc. Your lazy arvo not dissimilar to one of my more active ones..!

traceybath · 21/01/2011 18:22

Plum - you do look about 10 you know! Glad your bum is getting better though Smile

Have 8 jars of marmalade sat on side waiting to be labelled - lordy I jolly well hope it tastes nice and sets well or it'll be marmalade soup for the next 6 months.

Bonsoir - I often get that feeling when confronted by a full fridge and then the despair when its empty 2 days later and the whole shopping thing has to start again.

DS2 is enjoying pre-school as it seems he spends the whole time sat on one of the teacher's laps being read to and cuddled Smile

PlumSykes · 21/01/2011 18:23

Oh hells, I am very glad. Is it The Birthday this weekend?

blossoming · 21/01/2011 18:27

I AM NOT OVER BRETON

redllamayellowllama · 21/01/2011 18:31

Well no, how could anyone be after seeing that dress?

hellsbelles · 21/01/2011 18:32

googling has suggested - possibly baldness and hairyness! Hope I'm getting it wrong Grin

hellsbelles · 21/01/2011 18:33

bloss - that's lovely. Meant to say - the other stripped one we like...apparently it's sheer and would need a slip worn with it - bit of a pain really.

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 18:45

baldness and hairiness hells? twins again!!! Grin

big hug to you though. Stop googling now - you know it's a bad idea, always

blossoming · 21/01/2011 18:57

Yes, stop googling hells!
On the subject of sheer, I will stock up on sheer vests this year and wear on the beach over bikinis. thus showing off favorite bits ie legs and arms! Genius! (Okay, saw it in Heat!)

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 19:18

Ooh no I have found my lust-after Breton for this summer, it's a see by Chloe, - here

Florence I would generally advise to never miss an opp to wear a dress. But was at ab1 or slug or similar recently in skinny jeans, leopard flats and gold slouchy lurex sweater and it was about right. Have fun!

looby thank you, you are very kind. I think being mixed race lets one get away with a lot (Indian dad, English mum here) - you get the whol exotic/ striking thing and people kindly overlook my bulbous nose and slightly wonky features Grin

red am so tempted by the purple dress. What is choo's verdict??

Nice work on the strike Tracey. I have been incensed by dh's glowing reports of the sashimi in japan. Envy

hellsbelles · 21/01/2011 19:31

Tracey - kudos for being stylish through the illing! And I hope the curry blasts out those sinuses.

LTEC ? I know!?though I could do with twin like attributes in other areas (mile long legs please). Love the see by chloe!

Carciofi ? congratulations on happy news about a DD but sorry to hear about the pp?.glad to hear it hasn?t ended up with prescribed bedrest?though I can imagine how you will miss the vacuuming Wink

Plum ? sorry to hear about your bottom ? though love your recuperating schedule.

Zembo ? so sorry you are still having pain. I don?t know if it helps to know or not but I did too and it turned out to be nothing each time (though certainly get it checked)?I know this sounds odd but I almost felt like something was bruised and when I was ovulating (which I worked out retrospectively ? I think the dr thought I was mad but he didn?t come up with any better suggestions) after my operations the pain could be excruciating?really bend over double and almost cry out in agony type thing. But it did ease up.

Ageing ? oh Esher how I get what you are saying. I feel that so strongly now with DD (with DS I wasn?t one of the older mums)?.it?s very odd to be considered grown up (though I most certainly am)

And looks wise ? I do usually get told I look younger than I am. I am ashamed to admit that my first thought when I was getting tests for early menopause was not about the effect on my bones or other important things?its was about my looks. I am Blush.

Having said all that a vast portion of my twenties was spent wearing bottle top glasses and I also had a dose of adult acne thrown in for good measure. So I discovered what it?s like to be the invisible person in a room and I think it was a good lesson. I certainly learned not to rely on any looks I?d once had!

Romanholiday · 21/01/2011 19:58

Cake I so hear you. DH regularly going to Japan and NY for 'work' the last couple of years and calling me to gush over the latest temple of sushi he'd been in. Envy

pickledsiblings · 21/01/2011 20:25

hells, good news that it's not bad news

love both the spring bretons linked to by bloss and LTEC

Llama, your autocorrects for Bloss make me laugh

Fleecy · 21/01/2011 20:33

How funny bloss - I saw that dress today and thought of you but then catching up here saw you were over breton Shock Am glad order has now been restored...
