morning ladies Smile

My BR order is going back! DH has decreed that leopard items of clothing look 'cheap' Shock. Have kept this scarf which looks nice with a grey blazer. Wore last night to Governors meeting with www.oasis-stores.com/Daisy-Crochet-Dress/Knitwear/oasis/fcp-product/3660028314 grey Oasis knitted dress]] and long black books, oh and grey/black leopard bag of course.

Bunny, don't you just hate how babies decide that it is time for a new/different routine, just as you are getting used to the old one. I hope this one passes quickly.

MrsJ, I linked to some lovely leopard pumps at the start of this thread, have you seen them?

ReineDeSaba · 21/01/2011 08:56

mrsj unfortunately/fortunately although I discovered boys they didn't discover me till my mid 20s Grin

I actually have a pair of patent leopard pumps from few years back..wore loads with cropped stone trousers and white shirt(bfing) but falling apart so loooking to replace.think your linked ones couldwok with understated stuff as agree lots going on there !

pickledsiblings · 21/01/2011 08:59

hf, how strange of those people and yes, a pity that their DC keep missing parties. Maybe it is a silent plea for help from the Mum? Problems with their marriage? Huge leap I know but can't think of another reason for being so rude.

ReineDeSaba · 21/01/2011 08:59

re your br links mrsj I don't do frilly on top as feel a bit twee and I tuck in tanks or like loose fit so not sure about either, really.great prices but as bunny said..would you want them at full price.

Last post on DM: being a civil servant I spend lots of time dealing with the fallout from articles in DM, DEx, Torygraph etc, because the represent the views of many who voted for current gov. I realise this is part of democracy, but I find it the least appealing part due to current prof circs. So it drives me nuts. Many of the 'views' are racist and xenophobic imo. I also think most of the sleb stuff is just made up. I've finished now Smile

Romanholiday · 21/01/2011 09:08

On BR, I went in a couple of months ago and tried on lots of things I'd seen online and liked. They all looked really horrible, which was weird as I'm about 5'10" and size 8 with clothes-hanger shoulders, so things tend to look OK if not lovely, provided cleavage not required. It might be that they have horrid mirrors or lighting in the changing room or something, but it really made me decide never to bother again. Has anyone got BR things they like? (sorry if I've missed relevant post)

hf128219 · 21/01/2011 09:08

I hear you Roman. I am a Civil Servant too and can't believe what I read sometimes!

However the sleb stuff is true - they just can't print the whole picture! Grin

pickledsiblings · 21/01/2011 09:14

Here's one for the linguists among you: DS2 (3) came running out of nursery the other day just desperate to tell me that ' there's a new way of saying hello Mummy' and then with the sweetest little voice and wave said 'bonjour'. He then proceded to count to ten beginning 'une', 'doon' Grin.

He's only got another year or so of 'cute' left Sad. I will really miss that having had it for the last 8 years from one or other of the DC. Just think Bunny, you have all that cute to look forward to in duplicate.

notyummy · 21/01/2011 09:25

Morning all! Just a quickie as on train to fabulous girls weekend.

Roman and HF re civil servants and DM. I was at a fairly high powered meeting last week where carols Chief Execs were considering doing something I considered ill- advised with a large sum if goverment funding devolved down to them. I asked the question of whether they were satisfied that it would 'pass the DM test.' Cue silence and then the decision was revised!!

Re BR- the stuff I ordered was hood, although style of dress didn't suit me. Merino jumper was a lovely fit and a bargain at 19.99. But yes, I had to resist ordering lots of tops just because they were 6.99, when I wouldn't have looked at them at 25.00.

Have not had chance to look at links. Have a good day all. Oh, and Bunny- well done you. I do know what you mean about the tiny screamy baby bit. Nit my favourite bit either.....

notyummy · 21/01/2011 09:27

God, apologies for all the numerous typos caused by iPhone on train. In particular - carols? Eh? Bloody predictive text!

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 09:33

have a brilliant time NY. Hope your friend is okay. Hope also that the fab leopard maxi is duly admired!

hf128219 · 21/01/2011 09:35

NY Have a great time! Particularly enjoyed the typo 'was hood'

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 09:42

hf not sure whether you saw ages ago but I wondered how that Glitter dress was that you bought? think it was VWA?

DolceeBanana · 21/01/2011 09:44

Morning! Lucky you ny! Hope you do have a fabulous time...Go easy on the drink Wink

Pickled...that's so sweet! Clever DS! I love the cute stage so much...we have lots of cute going on at the moment, combined with lots of monkeytastic goings on too (to quote Ms Bath)....

Bunny - love those gorgeous twinnies and big Dd...so cute on your little website...awwww.....

Roman I am with you on the DM. Its to be avoided - both the articles and the comments IMO!

Member of my immediate family has recently been subject of a media storm and was written about in every paper - the DM take on it however was ShockShock they are in the dark ages in so many ways!

Romanholiday · 21/01/2011 09:47

Does anyone know how to wear square silk scarves? I have a couple that were given to me as presents. I think I might quite like them, but I'm not sure how to wear them. What do you do?

macmama · 21/01/2011 09:48

Interesting what you say about BR too. I have one skirt from there, thats it. DH has some clothes.

The skirt is ok but too big now. Bought it because it was on good sale mainly. Tried suits on there and they looked bad.

I do not have an even vaguely clothes hanger like body but also generally find it very easy to find things that fit and that I like as have what I would call an evenly distributed shape...

Romanholiday · 21/01/2011 09:48

Oh mac how horrible

Have fun ny

DolceeBanana · 21/01/2011 09:48

Awaiting dh who has gone to put 4 new tyres on my car!!! Love eh? Grin

Aww...he made me porridge this morning too with masses of brown sugar...not what I have normally at all Hmm
(Greek yog with honey usually), but didn't have the heart....

macmama · 21/01/2011 09:53

Roman it has worked out quite well for him in the end as he has got lots of work out of all of the publicity Grin - but I found a lot of it hard to read and avoided the worst DM articles altogether!

hf128219 · 21/01/2011 09:55

Mac Every cloud has a silver lining!

LTEC The dress was the VWA sequin number. It went back as the length was not quite right for me.

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 09:56

right trying to work out spending for Jan

luckily I bought the OWW stripe at the very end of 2010 so it's not included Grin

reiss pink dress £157

reiss shoes £40

Rupert Sanderson shoes £140

reiss skirt £24

reiss tank £14

Marc Jacobs sunglasses £50ish in Matches sale

also acquired (via dh) Zara Marantalike black and silver stripe sweater, plus studded Dune booties and Falke tights totalling about £80 I think

hmm, epic fail on the £250 budget. BUT .. have made over £350 this month on ebay selling off my unwanted stuff so have not dipped (much) into earnings/ household budget, as it were..

ah well, we can but try next month!

pickledsiblings · 21/01/2011 09:59

Cake, Reiss is a good shop for you Smile

LetThemEatCake · 21/01/2011 09:59

just got the friday outnet email, deleted without even looking. Smile

one day I will work up the courage to remove myself from their list

Romanholiday · 21/01/2011 10:00

I've an idea, we could try to average budget over regular posters? So cake you can count in my £250 (unless £42 for Babyliss counts?). Particularly halo-worthy folk get subsidised martinis at MOAMU. Great idea,no?
