macmama · 20/01/2011 14:47

Its really out of date comment to add now but I love that photo of Miranda Kerr she looks stunning and so happy...

Romanholiday · 20/01/2011 14:54

Well have just had a quick babyliss of my dry hair that I last washed yesterday. It now looks clean and shiny. Seems like definitely a handy gadget for sprucing up hair before going out. Will try a proper blowdry tomorrow morning. The hairdresser told me the reason most people's home styling efforts aren't very long lasting is because we're not really patient enough to dry properly until it's really finished, we leave damp bits. This is certainly true for me and I think the styler may resolve it.

Romanholiday · 20/01/2011 14:55

Yes Cake that was a thoughtless comment, or just a mean rude one. Ignore.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/01/2011 15:00

cake Don't listen to your colleague. Bet you looked fabulous. Love the butterfly tank!

ollie I'm so excited that DD will start school in August but I'm sure as the day draws nearer I will feel a pang of "Oh my God, can't believe that she goes to school!"

Where do we sign up for shopping and holiday chez roma? Grin

Love the ski jacket but think I'm done with warm clothes for this season.

OllieWollieWoo · 20/01/2011 15:07

Fritzi - think Pure jacket may have been delivered today - got an annoying 'we will call back' note! Sorry about you feeling so tired - hope you have a quite weekend planned? DH's bonus-related appraisal is next week and he is v tense about it given its his first one in this job. Lots of deep breaths on my part at the mo!

I'm going to get some of the Laura Mercier stuff - sounds like just what I need. Is is sold online anywhere? Also - what was the magical shampoo that Tracey & co rate?

Had our Expat Mums group meeting today - next month someone is coming to talk about putting the passion back into our relationships (she is a sex therapist Shock) Will make copious notes to share with you lot obviously!

OllieWollieWoo · 20/01/2011 15:10

Oh yes, LTEC - ignore the obviously 'eaten up with envy' comment. Silly girl (her not you Smile)

roary · 20/01/2011 15:10

Hello all
Roma that blog is hilarious. But why can she remove her hair and wash it in the sink?

ANyone else have a favorite blog? I love www.amalah.com but have been reading a long time and it might not be as funny for new readers!
Plum you are a hottie. Also I think you are one of life's lucky youthful looking people if you lived in the US you'd be carded all the time!

macmama · 20/01/2011 15:12

Marrakesh MIH jeans going cheap here...

I have personally had very good lucky buying things like that on Ebay.

macmama · 20/01/2011 15:13

Bigger size here

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2011 15:13

Dh and I used to work with someone who greeted everyone, every day (nearly) with 'geez you look tired.'

This was pre-dc. Dh and I used to laugh about it and recall her name when anyone said they looked tired. Some people are a bit socially tactless! and inept....

redllamayellowllama · 20/01/2011 15:13

OWW John Lewis and Boots both stock online; any good for you?

OllieWollieWoo · 20/01/2011 15:18

Yes thanks RLYL, my sister can bring it over with her when she visits next month - along with the bovril!

Romanholiday · 20/01/2011 15:18

wig because of alopecia I think roary

redllamayellowllama · 20/01/2011 15:19

Not that you asked, but I use this one in Nude - you can see my colouring in profile pics.

roary · 20/01/2011 15:28

I am so tired. Perhaps I need some Laura Mercier. But if RLYL is a Nude they might need to make Corpse for me.

roary · 20/01/2011 15:28

That explains it ROma!

macmama · 20/01/2011 15:32

I shall be looking for the Laura Mercia duty free ? looks perfect for me ? need a ?glow?!

macmama · 20/01/2011 15:38

Poor you roary re feeling so tired

roary · 20/01/2011 15:53

That may have sounded more pathetic than I intended! I am very tired but my natural pallor is such that goodness knows what shade I will need! :)

reallygrumpy · 20/01/2011 16:06

I think I need some LM too, I was told I was looking 'very jaded' at work yesterday.

notyummy so sorry to hear about your friend. The wife of a good friend of mine had breast cancer 5 years ago and has since made a full recovery and had a daughter from an embryo they froze before her treatment. She said that what made the biggest difference was the little practical things that made life a bit easier like people cooking meals and friends taking her to and picking her up from the hospital when DH couldn't. Apparently this book is full of good ideas.

roma before Xmas you gave me some v helpful advice about working from home and how you make it work. Just wanted to say that I'm now working from home 1 day per week and it's made a big difference to my tiredness and I seem to be getting more done so thank you!

reallygrumpy · 20/01/2011 16:08

roary I use this which brightens up my pasty complexion so I look less corpse like.

blossoming · 20/01/2011 16:15

plum, a £100 off you say??? Damn Dh on the pc again!
I've been thinking ahead about interview outfits knowing that you can be called at quite short notice in the teaching profession and I would need to be prepared as of where I live and delivery times of OL shops etc.
My book says Conservative. I'm loathe to get a suit but does anyone rember the lkbennett black and white polka dot dress I linked to months ago? The one on their Clearance site? Would that be conservative with a black cashmere cardigan and patent courts?

reallygrumpy · 20/01/2011 16:26

bloss I think it's fine not to wear a suit but a dress and jacket would probably be more suitable than a dress and cardigan. Have you got a black jacket you could wear with the dress?

LetThemEatCake · 20/01/2011 16:39

oh gosh sorry have only skimmed but honestly was not worried re tired comment! I thought it was funny coming on back of all this aging talk and my self-given pep talk this morning ... honestly my colleague is the loveliest girl and was not being rude or thoughtless - I do look tired, I'm knackered! in bed at 1 last night, up at 5 this morning, the usual stuff! my Grin and 'ha ha ha' was a genuine one, I thought it was amusing. I quite like those sorts of situations , like the model chick with the faux fur zara gilet, life's little funny situations.

Thanks for all jumping to my defence though. You are very sweet Smile

PlumSykes · 20/01/2011 16:49

Ow! So, I finally recovered from the battering my muscles took at Sunday's yoga class, only to slip in the park and bang my coccyx so hard I can't pick up DS/sit down/take shoes off without yelping. Stupid outdoors!
