(That was the sound of me swooning to the floor at the sound of an Umbrian meet-up BTW. Grin)

Pah! What does she know about tired LTEC?!

blossoming · 20/01/2011 13:17

ltec, that was very rude of her to put you down that way, and she probably did it on purpose to make you doubt yourself. Probably very jealous of you.
However I can't recommend laura mercier's tinted moisturiser enough to make a massive difference on the way you look. Expensive, but lasts for ages.

OllieWollieWoo · 20/01/2011 13:26

Notyummy - I'm so sorry to read about your friends diagnosis. Some lovely ideas re ways to help on here - I'm sure she will love your basket - v thoughtful.

Just received a letter from school re DS2's start date. He starts on 14th March and is in a lovely class which has a youngísh teacher who sounds good fun but firm - just what O needs! I showed him the letter and he shrugged, said no, he would wait until DS1 left his class in the summer and then go to that class! Gah! Felt a real knot in my stomach when I read the letter tho - he seems so much younger (esp emotionally) than DS1 did at the same time. I feel like wailing 'my little baby is going to school'. Nothing a trip to Roman's house and a spot of shopping wont fix tho Smile

Will await Babybliss review with interest Roman - not sure if it would work on v fine jaw length hair? Its great re free delivery tho - we got our Dyson delivered a couple of weeks ago and it was almost half the Dutch price.

Has anyone seen the film En Vie En Rose about Edith Piaf? Watched it last night and loved it. DH has a couple of her CDs - you have to be in the mood but quite enjoyed singing along in broken French in a anguished manner!

MarshaBrady · 20/01/2011 13:31

Roma! My word, swoon.

Plum you look so young! And so lovely, adore the confetti shot too.

In a rush, lots of interesting posts re age, back later...

Zembo · 20/01/2011 13:33

Just quickly re: Babyliss Big Hair - I think it's okay but not amazing on my hair - does volumise a bit but the effect is v short lived. Apparantly works best on wavy/curly hair?? Mine is pretty straight. Having said this, it's really light and perfect for taking on hols - I used it everyday in BD. Also, I do expect a lot (too much Grin) from everything!!

I've got the LM tinted moisturiser Bloss and that does live up to expectations.

Cake I hate it when people tell me I look tired!

Roman how many can you accomodate in your house? Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 20/01/2011 13:37

notyummy So sorry about your bad news. When my friend went through chemo a few years ago I sent her a nice blanket for snuggling up on the sofa and some DVDs. So difficult to know what to say but most important thing is that she knows you are there for her.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/01/2011 13:43

plum You look absolutely stunning and happy! I think I don't have a single wedding picture where I look half as happy and relaxed. I'm all tensed up due to stress with in-laws before and during event Sad. Better not think about it or I start crying (again). Not my day today...

MayorNaze · 20/01/2011 13:46

pardon me ladies, i wonder if i might ask your wise and avid opinion quickly?

i have a dress v similar to this but in gold (mine is h&m, isn't on their website :( )

would these in the black go do you think? and what sort of tights?

thank you :)

notyummy · 20/01/2011 13:52

Black opaques perhaps?

PlumSykes · 20/01/2011 13:54

Mayor, I have those shoe-boots, they are devilishly fabulous. Would work with black opaques, I think.

fritz you are brilliant..just being there is definitely the best thing you are doing notyummy plenty of people can't cope with /face other people's vulnerabilities and you are a true friend.

also fritz you are always a shining star on this thread with your caring nature and attention to everyone so I am sorry that you are having a sad day..hope dd can cheer you up with hugs and kisses post kinder.

PlumSykes · 20/01/2011 13:58

Bloss, bloss did you see? The lovely Sweaty Betty ski jacket has www.sweatybetty.com/hamilton-ski-jacket-prodsn0105_black/ £100 off]]. I knew it would be reduced soon. Am sorely tempted. Are you?

PlumSykes · 20/01/2011 13:59

Oh, too much excitement!

Link is

£100 off!

ReineDeSaba · 20/01/2011 13:59

mayornaze sorry I am not sure about so much flesh on top then opaques and boots on legs..I would personally do bare legs and strappy sandals..but maybe I'm just a floozy Grin

PlumSykes · 20/01/2011 14:00

Does anyone actually ski? If so, this skisuit is very Pussy Galore. Am tempted to get one just for fun.

ReineDeSaba · 20/01/2011 14:03

I am tres unsportiv plum but I can totally see roma in that Grin

Romanholiday · 20/01/2011 14:12

What's up, Fritzi?

That jacket is almost identical to the barbour I have on right now Grin

macmama · 20/01/2011 14:14

Ltec your colleague definitely said that out of jealousy and/or spite! I think you need to take it as a compliment, you are gorgeous and inspirational to mothers of young children everywhere in terms of just how good one can look.

redllamayellowllama · 20/01/2011 14:16

How rude LTEC. Reeks of her own insecurity issues. Just wanted to second Blossoming's Laura Mercier recommendation. When I wear it people tell me how well I'm looking and how I'm taking things in my stride. When I don't wear it, people ask me, with a sympathetic tilt of the head whether DD is sleeping through yet (of course she bloody isn't, she's 4 months old). So easy to apply aswell, never an obvious line, just a lovely glow.

Succumbed to the HH dress but got a call today saying they were out of stock in the requested size. Very annoying. Apparently they run slightly larger than average so they are sending me a size down. I'm not too hopeful, but will see how I go and report back.

Excellent charity shop find everything, makes a purchase so much more satisfying when it's bargainous.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/01/2011 14:24

Thanks for your kind words Smile Just a mixture of not getting enough sleep, DH being totally tense and unavailable for anything that is not related to work (bonus time soon...). So nothing dramatic really and not half as bad as the stress some of you have at the moment.

ollie Have you got your Pure jacket yet? I ordered mine, and conveniently forgot to mention in my January purchase list, ahem, but saw today that delivery might take up to 21 days. Patience is not my strongest point.

MayorNaze · 20/01/2011 14:25

thank you :) (the shoes are on order, whether i wear them with the frock or not Wink)

i also thought black opaques as i do try to stick to the "flesh in one area" rule (it should be noted that i have no norks whatsoever :() as it is rather a "bare" look up top IYSWIM

coloured opaques would be a bit off the wall wouldn't they...or would they? Hmm

MayorNaze · 20/01/2011 14:27

i will experiment with the bare legs and strappies look later actually - though it will still be winter when i actually have to rock this look...brrr

ReineDeSaba · 20/01/2011 14:29

Hmmm....

on 2nd thoughts sandals bit wagtastic..nice courts better?again no tights..

I have those boots b.t.w and love them..just worried outfit will look unbalanced with opaques.

coloured tights..3 words..pretty in pink Grin

ReineDeSaba · 20/01/2011 14:30

oops cross post!
