Hi all
Absolutely exhausted, think we've got a bit of work to do on op pink cot.

ants I think I am the only Janice naysayer on the whole thread. Neither stripes nor navy worked for me. Tried on stripes for my mom and her face said it all. I think it's because I have quite a boyish straight up and down shape and I only ever put weight on in my tummy. It made me look like I had a beer belly and while my tummy is not flat it is not a pot either! So I think all other figure types have succeeded. I know without even trying it on that mrsj's hh would have the same effect. I'm 5"9 and a o10, if that helps.

Does anyone else find drapey waists have a maternity effect?

carciofi · 16/01/2011 10:06

OWW, my mother always used to say what's for you won't pass you by!

Everything, your outfit sounds fab.

Vin, good luck with the job application.

Bloss, our postman is very funny. He grumbles when it is Boden catalogue day.

DT, big yes to the first dress.

We will be married 11 years in the summer, I have been with DH for 16 years now. Shock

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2011 10:11

DT - I agree with Morag - the LKB dress is a wow!

The DM has an LKB feature today - look how good the red dress looks here - as does the mother of 7!
Ants - it was a stripey Inwear top I stumbled across and several W&A's now own. Comes in various colours (blue&cream now seems to be sold out) here
Everything - am so proud of you, your outfit sounded the perfect mood-lifter - what you wearing today?

Lazy day here - having trouble sleeping at the mo and was awake til around 2am. IL's visiting later (so MIL can collect her candle, bauble and ribbon from her xmas decoration Wink)

MarshaBrady · 16/01/2011 10:13

Hells it was me Grin. Although on a different mn thread (I was surprised I got away with it!).

Everything your outfit is fabulous.

Every one is out I am relaxing at home. Bliss.

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2011 10:16

Carciofi - I love your Mums quote! I am known to say "everything happens for a reason" - its true! If my exbf hadn't dumped from a great height me after 7 years, I would never have gone on holiday with my best friend and met DH! (Yes ladies, DH was a holiday romance - but we met at the scene of a nasty accident and he was impressed with my nursing skills and I liked his shorts!!!)

roary · 16/01/2011 10:19

oww can you link top again or give name? Your link just opens the home page for me.

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 16/01/2011 10:26

A confession: I'm sat here with a couple of chocolate brioche and watching Gok having binned Jillian during the warm up before the end of the first circuit. Blush and guilty Grin. I wish I had just the teensiest amount of you ladies' restraint. Awed by your willpower in particular, LTEC, no bread since October Shock Shock!! You have definitely earned a little of what you fancy.

I think that is what I would need to do to get my weight to where I want it to be but .... nope, can't muster the strength. Plus my skin has stretched so badly on my tummy that surely it would look worse without the padding?

I had a crappy day at work on Friday and DH booted me out of the house yesterday so that he could get on with some work, so I had the unusual experience of shopping when I didn't really want to. Came away with two grey T-shirts and some deodorant for DH! But a trip around Harrods with a pram in the sales (was I mad) must compensate a little bit for lost Shredding calories?

I did try on the DVF wedges though. Admittedly they are ridiculous but they are beautiful and do wonders for my legs. I was wearing a gray sweater dress with grey tights and clocked a rather unattractive middle aged guy ogling my pins as I wobbled around. Actually they were much lighter and definitely more comfortable than I'd expected, having never worn wedges before. Do any of you ladies have anything with that type of shape? Where do you wear them?

Saw the most beautiful, stunning boy in Jack Wills though. Felt like a complete perv, he was probably only 17 but wow. Couldn't stop looking.

I did manage a little bit of shopping online when I came home: how about for the most unattractively presented jeans you've ever seen! I've tried hidden hills (with their 'bottom bra' Grin!) on before in Selfridges so I'm pretty confident that they'll be good.

So much to catch up with on here!

DT I prefer the LKB too but like even more the leopard version - 'Wilder' I think it's called. Too scared to link here as I keep losing this post!

Carciofi I've had the yellow version of that Crumpet scarf in my basket since I discovered that yellow was a good colour on me. Thanks for the tip off about Elle, I have duly subscribed.

Everything it really must be a strange time for you. Have you some nice things in your diary to look forward to once you've moved? A few distractions won't go amiss? Love the decadent approach to Sunday dressing, you sound fab-u-lous! Sorry I may have had too much Gok...

LTEC I am losing a neighbour!! Am very sad about the lost potential meet ups but it's so clearly the right decision. Time en famille is so precious, and I have know you have the get up and go to make it work. You can be a City girl in 20 minutes - takes me longer than that from here! Do you go to Matches when you are there? Have to say that I find the place absolutely terrifying.

Tracey my parents regularly regale me with tales of the time they took me to a Beefeater for my 4th birthday and was apparently so badly behaved that they didn't attempt another family restaurant trip for about 5 years!!

This post is already far too long so I will leave you stylish ladies in peace. Mwah!

OllieWollieWoo · 16/01/2011 10:30

Roary - sorry - didnt check link! Its the Bulana top!

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 16/01/2011 10:33

Sorry, badly presented but bargainous jeans are these.

Ants 32f here and the Janice works really well. It's a bit Anglomania and definitely suits curves and hides wobbly tums IMO.

CHOOGIRL · 16/01/2011 10:37

Ants I am 34E and own both stripey and navy Janice. The draping works really well and looks v flattering.

OWW The LKB Davina is stunning and I will be going to LKB tomorrow to try on the Navy. The red looks amazing, but probably a bit too va va vroom for the office.

DT I someone in LKB try on the Leopard version of that dress and it looked fantastic.

My DD is wearing an owl top today in honour of our birthday which I think is tomorrow.

Ants I'm with Helles on the stripey Janice I'm afraid. I found it really clingy on the bum but still with lots of material around the waist and at the front.
I like to call my shape hourglass (32E), however DH just said I needed to get down to the gym to be able to wear itSad

DT-I love that LK Bennett dress! I think the cut is v similar to that gorgeous AboutEve one they had last season. in pink.

everything- you are absolutely right about wearing nice clothes/ make up to make you feel a little better. Agree with the others re not getting rid of DS's baby clothes just yet. You never know what may be round the corner :)

ollie- love the stripy top but all sold out now :(
How amazing do those women look in the LKB ad campaign! Mother of 7- wow!
That red Davina dress looks amazing.

vin- did you get my PM? I find high waisted things quite slimming- they hold my post natal tummy in!

oooh- improptu shopping trip sounds fun, although perhaps less so with buggy in tow!

morag- v jealous of your 32E hourglass figure too! Envy

OooohWhatIfItHurts · 16/01/2011 11:41

vino I think that could work if you are tall and slim? It would add volume to my volume if I tried it.

Are you looking for something for a particular event?

And I've just shredded! The old Ooooh wouldn't have done that. All new Ooooh looked at lovely clothes links and thought, right, I'd better do something abbot that! But only after brioche for breakfast!

Might name change to TheAllNewOoooh. Quite like that.

A ray of light re venue. Going out now will update later!

carciofi · 16/01/2011 12:02

TheAllNewOoooh, hope you feel better soon. I have those Paige jeans, I like them.

Vin, I am not mad about the skirt but it could be good on.

carciofi · 16/01/2011 12:02
