Mrsj I think that the metallics and boots are both a good buy, but I would probabley hold on the black court shoes as I think that there is nothing special about them but no doubt they would be very functional and possibley fill a gap in your wardrobeSmile.

Carciofi Like the KG boots but if you really have your heart set on the Falstaffs would you keep comparing them and regreting an impulse purchase.....Confused

MarshaBrady · 07/01/2011 10:19

Vin!! Thought you would say, aw no I went off it. Too this, too that. And help me recover from not getting it. Grin
But I gave you extra non-buyer remorse. sorry! Grin

Oh well dh tells me it would have just bobbled....

(Do love it really. That super, super soft fluffy cashmere. And the slouchy belt on the hips. Favourite things. Stop! Grin)

Dolce would be really fab to meet you. Maybe a non stay over version...

macmama you are doing so well working etc while your dh is away;.

Awake at 5am this morning, not too bad! (did a wash, supermarket, bought a new car seat before 10. Quite efficient really!)

AllBuggiedOut · 07/01/2011 10:26

cafciofi I am also going to encourage you to save. The KGs are nice (tried them on in store a while back) but not particularly special.

I have just rather nervously ordered this - nervous because (a) it's Outnet(!) (b) I haven't worn a pencil skirt in years and (c) I was looknig for a pancil skirt to go with this but fear it may be all wrong. Wish me luck!

Thinking of vin and apuski

cake very envious of your shopping!

macmama · 07/01/2011 10:29

Thanks Marsha. Things haven?t cranked up at work this year yet so my new resolve and calm has yet to be tested....

However I did get home from work on Wednesday night and cook dinner for 11 people without losing my sanity so that was a good test, tonight will be back to a more more civilised 7 people Grin then my brother and his wife and kids leave the house actually I wish they were staying for a month I love having them here. Last night was quieter just the girls and I (although my 2 DSSs came and wolfed the remainder of the dinner while I was putting girls to bed). Doing sort of ok with the half arsed night weaning attempted in that DD2 is now taking some of a bottle before a bedtime breastfeed (although not much) but I am actually putting her down half awake which is progress. SUirng the night more tricky attempted not to breastfeed her after 2nd night waking last night ? she screamed the neighbourhood down so I gave in Blush

Then at 4am she decided it was time to get up ? didn?t get her back down until about 5am (with a bottle and sitting on the couch) am slightly haggard this morning luckily the Karen Walker dress is making up for it!

Just got an email saying Asos order delayed how annoying!!! Wanted to try on and send back what I don?t want this weekend.

ABO ? my roommate at work bought that chloe skirt in the re/russet pinstripe on Outnet. She is slim hipped and the skirt is very fitted on her but it looks good.

Dolcee re baby shoes. I have been all over this one esp as DD2 is a size 3.5 so most proper baby shoes don?t start that small. Got some cruisers from Clarks originally but think the cost is too much for baby shoes which aren?t worn much and do get lost easily. Temporarily lost one (found it yesterday inside the toy oven ? of course!) and in the interim bought some gorgeous new season cream basketball style trainers with zips to get on and off and flower motif from Zara for under £15 ? they stay on really well, plus Zara are good for the small sizes.

notyummy, how exciting!
choo, I vote cardio!
Well I woke at 5 and couldn't sleep mentally collating eBay listings. And then at 8.05 I ordered the jacket!! I remembered I had the most expensive baby bjorn carrier to add to my haul!
I'm being thwarted in my efforts though by a, snow and b, my mum coming round with nephew for playdate.

Hope you get the iPhone verity, but I turned into a w&a junkie after getting mine! Oh and I've lost my lovely smythson cover.

eshermummy · 07/01/2011 11:17

everything sorry the house fell through but hopefully something better is just around the corner . Try and take care of yourself, it sounds like you are having a really tough time.

LTEC Envy at Westfield shopping tonight

Thanks for all your knInd wishes re dd1's hops apptmt - was fine, apparently dd1 will most likely need 2 further ops but not yet. They will reconsiderin a year's time as to whether she needs it then.

Was up till midnight last night trying to put a KG order through online Hmm as a result of which I was so knackered I managed to oversleep for school run this morning Blush oops. Ended up ordering the Mitford boots that [MrsJ] linked to in a size biggercthan normal in the hope that I can get the bloody sheepskin insoles I ordered ages ago into them (with my feet too Grin)

Tried on the LKBennett yellow silk blouse I ordered and I don't like it. It's the batwing sleeves - I really don't like that cut on me as I look all round shouldered and thick of waist I' ve decided.

Can't link because I'm on iPad and haven't worked out how to yet, but yesterday there was a VWA dress in the my wardrobe sale ( black sparkle Donna) - do you think it would work on a small frame or do you think the draped top part would swamp me and also it looks very long on the model. Has anyone got one/ tried it? Do you think it would be same as batwing top (although I don't think the sleeve are actually batwing but there is a lot of material or so it seems in the top half)

eshermummy · 07/01/2011 11:24

Is absolutely pouring with rain here , forecast was for snow but it doesn't seem cold enough.
Bloss was it the Pure Collection jacket you ordered? I liked that a lot - which colour did you order?

Not planning to do much myself today. Friend stopped by for a coffee with her little boy this morning after school run so dd had a mini postcard and another friend is popping by with her son this afternoon before the school run so we will have a coffee while the littlies play together ( hopefully).

May call GD later and see if they have had any size 8 puffas returned.

eshermummy · 07/01/2011 11:25

Mini playdate not postcard
Bloody iPad!!!

Fleecy · 07/01/2011 11:27

Just popping on to share www.theoutnet.com/product/208047 these beauties. WTF? Who spends £££s on things like this?

(Apologies if anyone here bought them, am especially sorry if you paid four figures for them Shock)

Romanholiday · 07/01/2011 11:28

Hello again. French speakers look at this. I'm not sure whether it's horrifying or quite sensible. It literally tells you what to wear to work down to your knickers!

I've just finished 'Committed' by Elizabeth Gilbert and really enjoyed. Lot's of interesting stuff about marriage and relationships that you might like too.

Where's the house Tracey?

NY please keep me posted re meet up, though realistically I will be last minute about knowing whether I'll be there or not.

Bonsoir happy to tell all about school. They don't really have a curriculum, but look for stuff on the web etc to make up a parallel programme in English (ie French curriculum but taught in English). Napoleon is still the hero, not that nasty guy wiped out by Nelson Grin

eshermummy · 07/01/2011 11:31

Fleecy Shock and Grin, those boots are hilarious!!

notyummy · 07/01/2011 11:40

Oh yes - book recommendation: Remarkable Creatures, Tracey Chevalier. Have enjoyed it.

Will let you know the venue when we have it Roma!

On that note - ideas please for suitable venues for our get together. We need:

tables and chairs
bar
place that will platters of food whilst we drink
reserving an area given the size of party would be good
Most of us would be staying in the marylebone/mayfair area so I guess that could be a starting point....although for the right place, then taxis could be booked??!!

blossoming · 07/01/2011 11:41

Lol at mini postcard esher! I got the grey and if if's a keeper I'm buying a mypashmina in a blood red to complement!
Glad things went okay for your dd.
Roma, I'm looking forward to reading your link.
One week of six pack finishes today. Should I have a ine pack by tonight?

eshermummy · 07/01/2011 11:55

oh yes Bloss red pashmina with it sounds lovely
Just been looking at the Boden spring stuff, can't link but I like the jersey blazer (in the stripe natch) and they have some high heeled gladiator sandals that look great except they are graphite grey rather than black (really wanted black) such a shame as the heel height looks perfect for a heels wuss like me Sad

hellsbelles · 07/01/2011 12:02

oh goodness - they have a pair left in my size. what to do?! Wink. They are a bit creepy actually - they look like some sort of S&M boots.

ROma - is that UBS the bank? It looks more like an air hostess uniform!

AllBuggiedOut · 07/01/2011 12:30

Those boots are quite astonishing!

ny when venue etc is finalised for the meetup, would you let me know too please? I may be able to sneak away for an evening but somehow incapable of thinking that far ahead at the moment! (Which isn't good for my urgent need to plan for my 40th this April; I am really struggling to think past the end of jan right now!)

mac I am sadly not slim hipped, so suspect the skirt will go back. but on the offchance it is OK, I would really appreciate people's thoughts on whether the colour combo of skirt with cardie will be OK please...

FritziGreenEyes · 07/01/2011 12:32

nutyummy I feel exactly the same about Grey's Anatomy. We used to watch all the time but Meredith has always been unbearable, that sleepy look in her eyes, the dithering ... Christina used to be my favourite Smile. Wish I could be a bit more like her.

hf My office used to be in Bruton St. Didn't like the job much but lunchtime was heaven!

everything Sorry about the house, hope you'll find something that will be even better for you and DS. Can imagine that telling your parents must be awful. Hope they'll surprise you and be supportive! Like the P8 dress but often find myself picking out stuff in shops and then I find I don't want the clothes badly enough to try them on, and put them back (that is a weird sentence sorry...).

choo That laser thingy sounds too good to be true. I would be scared anyway and will have to stick with my saddlebags on thighs.

verity I love my iphone. I think ollie is getting one too.

cake Well done on winning work deadline/dress challenge! Hope your bad dreams will disappear. So lovely of DH to go shopping for you! Enjoy exchanging returning tonight Grin.

macmama Great work dresses although the collar on the second one would be too much for me. Can't do cute...

carciofi Save for the Belstaffs!

carciofi · 07/01/2011 12:57

Meredith is a bit insipid. I do like Dr McDreamy though.

Fleecy, I am disappointed that you don't like my new boots!

OK, thanks ladies, going to save for the Belstaffs.

I heard about the UBS dress guidelines, hilarious. I got told off for wearing open toe shoes at work once.

Glad your DD's appointment went well.

Bloss, red pashmina and grey jacket sounds fab. You have reminded me, I need to look at slings. I used to have a Baby Bjorn too but DD got too heavy for me very quickly. It will sell well, I am sure.

Ocado just rang, they are outside my old apartment trying to deliver. Oops!

carciofi · 07/01/2011 12:57

Esher, glad your DD's appt went well.

notyummy · 07/01/2011 12:59

Bloss - Just finished 'Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism' - thanks so much Smile I thought it was quite hard going tbh. I got 'No More Trouble Zones' for Xmas and was slightly disappointed that it a little bit too easy - but Burn Fat is definitely harder! Jumped on the cross trainer afterwards to bring my exercise time up to an hour, as I had intended to do an hours run, but the snow/sleet has been so horrible it put me off. Fingers crossed for us that we can get across to our hotel in the west this afternoon! The other good thing about that DVD, if anyone is considering, is that you need no weights. I am going to download it to my iphone so I can do it when I am away from home as an alternative to a run.

Will let you know re the menu ABO.

Those boots are amazing. But not in a good way!

DolceeBanana · 07/01/2011 13:04

Hello Roma...I love the explicit reference to 'une haleine fraiche' ....Grin

Actually, its probably very sensible I think. I started employment in a recruitment organisation where the staff (predominantly women), wore a 'uniform'...from Jaegar (twas quite upmarket), and looked very smart.

I love the french approach to things...very proper!

notyummy · 07/01/2011 13:05

Oh - one more thing! Just started watching 'The Secret History of the Brain' which is on BBC 4 whilst on the crosstrainer. Fascinating and would recommend.

DolceeBanana · 07/01/2011 13:05

Dr McDreamy is well, dreamy...mmm.....Grin
