After years of consideration i have decided to go for it.I have v good skin apart from forehead which are caused by constant squinting over the years when i don't wear my glasses.Botox doc I met at friends said i was ideal candidate as if your face is just wrinkly everywhere it prob needs something more like fillers but mine is just one area and caused be repetitive movement. What i really want to know is does it hurt and any disasters anyone?

Have had it done twice. Didn't work either time. Different doctors. Quite a lot of money to spend on something that made absolutely no difference at all!

moragbellingham · 30/11/2010 14:33

Doesn't really hurt but I do bruise easily and forgot that fact.
I had to tell everyone I'd hit my head on the car door!

I did work on the horizontal lines and worked a little on the vertical. These are the most difficult to treat and I was warned beforehand by the Dr.

janinlondon · 30/11/2010 14:37

Oh and in case you are thinking, well maybe she IS wrinkly everywhere, there were just the two vertical frown lines!! Smile

noddyholder · 30/11/2010 14:41

Thanks I have about 4 lines on my forehead horizontal. No vertical and don't want crows feet either as have minimal there and I just want to look better not younger.Oh not sure what to do.

Botox is fantastic, have had it for 5 yrs. The secret is to go easy on it so you dont look strange. Dont just have only your upper fore head horisontal lines treated though - you are risking an eyebrow drop. You may also need a little in the frowning muscles and side of eyes aswell to prevent this.

noddyholder · 30/11/2010 15:16

Thanks i really don't want any drop! The clinic has an appointment available on Dec 6th so think I will take it.How long to see results and iif you do get drooping can it be corrected?

Oh Noddy - go for it. I'm thinking of getting it done in the same area next year - I hate my forehead lines.

Keep us updated please Smile

noddyholder · 30/11/2010 15:20

Me too tracey when I wear a hat over my forehead I lokk A LOT better and I am becoming fixated on the lines and can't see anything else when I look in teh mirror!

I have two friends irl who have had several botox sessions. They look fabulous and you certainly wouldn't think they had had it done. However, I met the woman responsible for their work and she had a very heavy eyebrow area which suggests to me she has somewhat overdone it.

I have considered it but am just too cowardly I think. I was less scared to have a tummy tuck than I am to have botox! I think its the fear that if something goes wrong there is no disguising it. With my tummy in such a state from pregnancies, I felt I had nothing to lose I guess.

noddyholder · 30/11/2010 20:12

I am definitely going to do it I just want to see if I like the difference Am not scared as it isn't permanent

moragbellingham · 30/11/2010 21:30

noddy do you live in east sussex? {as irc}
if so i know of two very good guys for botox

ElectricSoftParade · 01/12/2010 07:03

Sorry to intrude but I live in East Sussex Rannaldini and would be very grateful for your botox guys details. Many thanks and I WANT BOTOX BUT HAVE BEEN TOO FRIGHTENED! But now the forehead lines are just too much so I really want to have it done. Smile

faustina · 01/12/2010 07:38

if you go to someone with a good reputation it's brilliant. I love the person who does my botox! It takes about seven days before you see the total effect (I think it's seven) - and what generally happens is if that's not enough, you can go back and they'll give you a free top-up.

About the bruising thing - I think they are meant to ask you if you're on any medication that might make bruising more likely. I've never had any.

the key to good botox is someone who knows what they're doing - ask how long they've been doing it

faustina · 01/12/2010 07:40

ps. it hurts a little bit - they are sticking a needle in your face after all - but really not very much, as it's a tiny needle. Afterwards, if you touch the place, it might be a bit sore the day after, but you will so not care when you see the result!

Bunbaker · 01/12/2010 07:47

One of the mums at school has had Botox. I didn't want to hurt her feelings and tell her that I couldn't see any difference.

I think I would rather grow old disgracefully than have poison injected into me, but that is just my personal view and not a criticism.

noddyholder · 01/12/2010 08:42

I am in east sussex and plan to go to david yelland at the nuffield. But if you have someone better let me know!

28 wilbury road, hove, esat sussex, soz. 6 years experience, sensible prices

TracyK · 01/12/2010 10:38

Take a brufen/paracetemol before you go and then prob no pain. Prob best not to go during time of the month either as you feel more pain then.

I don't have any horizontal lines but have 3 vertical lines - do you think fillers are more successful with them then?
