Oh my God, I choked (try and hum along to We Three Kings...)!! But here is the new thread.

OP posts:
mrsjuan · 24/11/2010 19:17

Oh no bunny! I've been checking in ( very naughtily) from work all day to see if there was any news. Never mind - try to get some sleep tonight. 25 is a nicer number than 24 for a birthday anyway. All the very best for tomorrow

Cake- what a lovely thing to do. Must have been magical for all concerned.

Roary . Ravioli! Seriously? Get some toast down you!

Zembo- i'm so sorry that you are feeling so sad. You have dealt with all of this so bravely admirably. There's absolutely no shame in taking whatever time or measures you need to feel better.

Right, can't hang around tonight. Need to catch up with laundry and hoovering. What fun!

carciofi · 24/11/2010 19:34

Bunny, I have also been checking in all day for news. Good luck for tomorrow!

That is a lovely story, LTEC.

Enjoy the cheesecake, Ollie.

Reine, do you have the pumpkin pie made? :)

Shopbop have started their Thanksgiving sale so I ordered this scarf, which I have had my eye on for a while. So that's my boots money gone.

Nice coat, Dolcee. I've been thinking about getting these Timberlands, they are waterproof.

Zembo · 24/11/2010 19:50

Lovely scarf Carciofi

Cakey have thought this before, your DCs are living a fairytale existence (remembering the blue crocs story too). I remain totally in awe of your parenting.

I had a better day today. Work was too busy to think about anything MC related, perhaps not a good thing? Talking about complex drug related issues did make me feel better. My red gap dress (and bright red lippy) successfully diverted attention away from my slightly puffy eyes and general 'drawn' appearance. Wore with black heattech underneath, black wolfords, black shoeboots and long dangly necklace. Had many compliments (due to colour I think), best one was someone telling me they never think of me as being small!! got them fooled then.
Clothes do make such a difference to ones mood though.

Please tell me I didn't miss anything by not bidding on these balenciaga boots

Roary hope you're on the mend.

traceybath · 24/11/2010 19:53

Zembo - you missed nothing in not bidding on some-one's used boots [eeeuuuggghhh] - Sorry vintage/used clothes can be cleaned but boots - oh no no no no no

monkeysmama · 24/11/2010 19:54

Hope you're feeling ok tonight Bunny. As Zembo said, another day & medicine to make your girls as healthy as can be.

Reine which red dress? Am not convinced by my oasis ruffle sleeve one. Short double sleeve one not dispatched yet.

Does anyone know if Isabella Oliver emails re returned orders to acknowledge? I've never had one from them for pegs & can't recall which card I used.

Solo parenting again today. Dd in bed now so am going to spend evening with wine, music and starting work on my homemade post office (for dd not me!) set

you didn't miss anything on the boots Zembo Wink - glad the day went as well as possible...

Just running in quickly - LTEC - can you adopt me? Grin - can I say (and this sounds so I almost don't want to type it - but some of things you all do (and LTEC you seem to get the gold star on this) inspire me to be a better mother. I think I'm pretty good anyway but you lot are fantastic

Off to nit check DS (told you I was a wonderful mother Wink)

carciofi · 24/11/2010 20:01

Glad you got on ok today, Zembo. Agree with Tracey about the boots!

EIE, I am surprised that the counsellor didn't remark on that! I have found nice plain tan belts in Gap before.

Roary, did the ravioli stay down?!

pickledsiblings · 24/11/2010 20:04

Zembo your outfit sounds lovely, well done for making an effort. I am sure red is fab with your dark hair. You are right though, clothes really can 'lift' you.

Grin at Tracey and her sock germs.

OWW bad luck on the shopping front. Ice skating sounds fun though, what a good idea to flood the football pitch. We have recently had a garden pod built to give us some much needed extra space (for guilty pleasures) and I love it. It is our cleanest and best decorated room.

traceybath · 24/11/2010 20:09

I am a bit foot phobic to be honest - never every been able to do ten-pin bowling as other people's shoes scare me a bit Blush

And yes Zembo - your outfit sounded fab. Its interesting about colours because I know last winter by about feb I consciously bought some bright pink stuff as found all the navy/charcoal etc was too depressing all the time.

Hells - I do know what you mean about parenting - LTEC you are so imaginitive and always make it obvious how much joy you take in your children Smile

Oh I left DH in charge of youngest when I went to pick eldest up from friend's house - got home to find them all asleep. DH had put them to bed at 6pm - honestly they'll be up at 4am!

Romanarama · 24/11/2010 20:14

Hello everyone, jeez cake how to make me feel inadequate: mother perfection AND 12 quid cashmere Grin

Bad luck Bunny but easier in than out ime.

OWW I must say you sound infinitely cheerier about your dutch life these days than when W&A began.

I am intrigued by the garden pod pickled what does it look like? And more to the point, what do you do in it??

Romanarama · 24/11/2010 20:25

Carciofi I have those Timberlands and highly recommend. I wore them every single day last winter from 17 December when it started snowing for more than 3 months as our road was so icy. Including for walking the dog in the park etc, and they were completely waterproof and also very warm, and v.elegant considering what they are.

PlumSykes · 24/11/2010 20:30

EIE, Topshop ahve some good belts. Sorry about temporary deafness in yr Relate sessions. Maybe have it printed on a tee for next time?

traceybath · 24/11/2010 20:32

Plum - did you get the zara leopard coat? I keep looking at it online wistfully . . .

carciofi · 24/11/2010 20:46

Roma, thanks, have put them on the to buy list!

pickledsiblings · 24/11/2010 20:47

pod

Guilty pleasure for DH = drums (arrrrrgh)

Guilty pleasure for me = earn money Wink

Still intrigued Roma?

monkeysmama · 24/11/2010 20:49

Roary if you're here can you link to coat again pretty please? I now cant find it....

carciofi · 24/11/2010 20:56

MM, Roary's coat!

carciofi · 24/11/2010 20:57

I like this Oushka bag. Anyone know what the quality is like?

CHOOGIRL · 24/11/2010 21:01

Am feeling v emotional today. Working from home and pacing up and down like an expectant father awaiting news of the twins. Bunny you will have a fabulous Thanksgiving.

Cake what can I say? I wonder if any of the mums who make snidey comments about those of us who take pride in our appearances would even think of doing that for their LOs. Princess is v lucky.

EIE will chat on 12th. But sending you salmon.

TB Haven't read JC for years, but must admit to being partial to a bit of Rupert C-B - he must be getting on a bit now?

Zembo lovely to hear from you. Remember one day at a time.

Right Apprentice calling - not a great advert for university education but gives me a chance to judge Smile

monkeysmama · 24/11/2010 21:06

Thanks Carciofi! I like that bag a lot. Am looking for a bag to get from dp for Christmas. On a totally random note I am cooking a carciofi based meal for dsis' birthday next week.

I'm not sure if anyone likes it but La Redoute have some good bargains in. You have to trawl through but I've managed to fill my basket.

Romanarama · 24/11/2010 21:14

I like the pods!

monkeysmama · 24/11/2010 21:19

Sure Cakey has an Oushka? The Phoenix I think.

Romanarama · 24/11/2010 21:37

I think zembo has an Oushka too?

OllieWollieWoo · 24/11/2010 21:42

Back from friends house - left DH chatting to builder - arrived home to find DH in raptures about re-designing the kitchen by making current entrance smaller (currently open plan from the dining area) to create more wall space for more units/worktop. No flippin mention of an extension so not quite what I had in mind....! Will revert to Plan B (withold marital relations until DH agrees! Smile)

Pickled - Wow - I would love a pod! What a great idea for a garden. We have an old artists studio/workshop in the garden which we thought could be insultated and heated to create an extra room (or knocked down to make way for extension - sob!).

Roman - still have the odd bad Dutch day but life over here is generally ok!

Night all.
