Come join me!
Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 14:53

both her dresses horrid. orange one for wedding and tin foil one

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 14:55

Bonsoir - is your DD a little Anna? I remember a poster once saying on a thread (she knows you in RL) that you are blonde and elegant, and isn't your DD just the same?! What a beautiful happy smile, too. Re the plate issue, I agree being careful. My father is still furious that my mother and I threw out some hideous cheerful plates that his mother had bought him. Apparently they were heirloom quality Hmm]. I did not know that Woolworths made heirloom items (they appeared cheap and nasty to me), but it seems they did Wink

RG - I have a scar on my chin from trying to copy my father when he was shaving and I have to really point it out when I tell the story, now.

Blossoming - does sound like a nice morning w your dad (can you tell I miss mine??) and well done on getting DS' bike!

zembo - glad you had a nice weekend and are feeling cared for. Thinking of you today and hope the scan gives you some definite answers.

MM - the names we have chosen are Emmeline (nn of Emme) and Aurelia (nn of Lia). Told the PILs on the weekend and they were all Shock Hmm and Biscuit. Clearly not what they would have chosen, which is OK as they aren't their children Grin. DH and I are still feeling v confident about the names.

Vin - think about how many calories you would burn if you delivered all the kicks to P's shins that he deserves? Smile Just a thought...

Carciofi - no, I don't have Mr Kumar, I have Mr Wimalasundera. Do you have either of them? Mr W quite matter of fact (which is fine for me, but not great if I was quite anxious about my pregnancy) and I believe he is a twin specialist. Mr Kumar performed a double amnio on me, though, and I was v impressed w his lovely bedside manner and he was a good friend's ob and she can't recommend him highly enough.

Am on self-imposed bed rest until Wednesday morning, so may not be on much (or may, conversely, be on all day!!), but either DH or I will let you know how we go if I don't post before then (hmm, unlikely!!)

bunny not that it makes one jot of diff to you but I told my mum your three girls' names on the w'end and she was in rhapsodies Smile

They really are ever so beautiful.

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 15:19

Oh thanks, Cakey - it actually does make a difference - you don't want to think your little darlings will be walking around with names that make most people grimace! Its quite heart warming to think that some people think they are beautiful names and that DH and I are not completely deluded. Smile

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 15:25

don't worry. I found out that my dad has told several people (mostly professional colleagues etc) that my dd and ds1's names are completely different from what they actually are. Grin Obviously they are too kooky for him to confess to straight faced-ly.

And mil' s reactions to their names ... well. Say no more. Hmm

FritziGreenEyes · 22/11/2010 15:29

bunny Don't listen to your PILs. Names are lovely!

notyummy · 22/11/2010 15:32

I now feel I want some coated jeans in my life.

My bank balance is telling me that I don't. Fecking car repairs!! And christmas pressies... And trip to Swizzerland. Such an expensive time of year!

Bunny Can't believe forgot to post this earlier... When I was down at DHs work at the w/e I met a couple who had new twin girls (think I mentioned them at the meet-up - she had them at 31 weeks?) So they are now 37 weeks 'real time' IFYSWIM. OMG - soooo beautiful, but tiny, tiny, tiny. DD thought they were dolls and made a grab for one Shock. I think possibly they seem tiny to me (in my limited experience!) because dd was a big baby, so in comparison they just seemed minute. But, apparently they are gaining well. She is mostly bf, but also expressing and occasional bottle feed. Her DH is v hands on. Anyway, they were so gorgeous and I thought - Bunny will have 2 of those soon! And possibly about the same size (but maybe EVEN cuter Grin)

Roman definitely GHD's, they last for ages (although I'm on my 2nd)

Scan went okay and confirmed what I already knew. Lucklily I don't need anymore procedures. I'm not anaemic but just need to go back for a blood test later in the week. I've had a few hours to myself (DC free) and not feeling too bad. It could have all been soooo much worse.

Bunny I'm so excited for you. Is the big day Wednesday? If so I have two friends with b'days on that day.

Yangy know what you mean about the gap jeans and the coating being a bit subtle. Fancy having a gander at the top shop version - Fleecy can you link?

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 15:42

Bloss beautiful names. Really elegant full names and cute nicknames. I can't wait to hear they're here and your little family of 5 is all cuddled up and smiling together Grin.

Thanks for boot feedback. Might keep them. Slightly put off my plastic sole but I'm too fussy atm.

Yangy I got the faux leather TS trousers. I love them
and they feel like the fit better than my real leather leggings. I don't know what to wear on top though. I had a black wool jumper I wore last year with my leather leggings but it's got moth holes in it Angry. Glad you like the leopard jumper.

I looked at the Gap trousers but they don't have my size. Are they for every day wear? Loving your Christmas party outfit Tracey I love your style.

Esher not one to do things by halves I now own 4 big chunky necklaces. All from same ebayer seller's nan's collection. They're lovely. I definitely look like a rapper now - gold bling and fur Grin.

That time of the month for me too!

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 15:46

Cross posts Zembo. I'm glad to hear you've had some time to yourself. In my experience hormones are very funny and things can hit you weeks later. Be easy on yourself for a while. I am sending you a hug.

notyummy · 22/11/2010 15:46

Zembo - so glad to hear it went ok. Put your feet up tonight please!

Roma - RE the GHDs, they are more effective than most other straighteners IMHO. I have had the same pair for about 6 years. DH (then DF) bought me some one Christmas. He later told me that he went into a posh hairdresser to buy them for me and was clutching a £20 to hand over when the uber-cool stylist (all dressed in black, natch) said 'That's the wrong colour banknote....' When she told him they were £100 he was Shock, but felt he would look cheap if he backed out!

monkeysmama · 22/11/2010 15:48

Btw, Cakey your ds1's name is probably my favourite name ever.

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 15:51

MM!!! are you still there?

two outfits for you, both in Grazia. I saw, I said ooooooh MM!!

Next ad in b&w on p22

sequin harem trousers on p121

yes yes yes, you you you

bunnymother · 22/11/2010 15:52

notyummy - oh how sweet to see little twin baby girls! I am sure ours will be small - have had to buy new, smaller baby clothes than needed for DD (who was avg sized). Think such tiny babies (est weight around 5lbs) will scare DH, who was nervous enough w 7lb 11oz DD. I am hoping I can breast field feed Grin but can't get as wound up about it as I did w DD, if it all goes wrong.

Zembo - glad you have had confirmation so know you know for sure what's happened. Are you drinking Spa Tone (iron rich water source, you can get it from Boots, easily absorbed and doesn't block you up) or taking iron tablets?

Yes, big day is Wednesday! All my hopes of early arrivals have been dashed, but nice to have extra faffing resting time.

Thanks again, Wise Ladies, for reassurance on the names. After all, our tastes are more aligned than mine and PILs (lovely as they are...). Although Cakey - a cheeky name change to colleagues by your dad is a bit wrong! I do love your DCs names, too - a little quirky whilst still v strong and beautiful and somehow classic.

ReineDeSaba · 22/11/2010 15:53

yangy you star.MM has the leather look TS trousers..I have ordered too to compare to the coated..am very avid on the ordering right now.need to make sure wise on the returns!will let you know what I think.

fleecy thanks for styling tips for the coated.you must have anticipated me asking.hope dd is on the mend.

bunny dd1 has a very weird unsual name.adults pronounce it incorrectly all the time yet all her peers at pre-school manage just fine.at swimming last week a women said my dh and I were like brangelina when told her name,re- name choices I guess,we don't have any adopted children,yet!dd2 also has very rare middle name(german)

Also bunny delicious girl twins in swim lesson after us..as fritzi mentions I am constantly on the verge of blurting out how close my imaginary bunny friend is to B day!

sorry about links..I embarrassingly can't find the hash key on my computer Confused as does £ instead so cannot do those links but if you want to look under grey dresses at oasis I have ordered the sweater one with leopard frill alla esher, the grey military and the grey leopard..as hells is finding too my wardrobe often sometimes repeats itself.

bonsoir your soiree sounded wonderful and your daughter is just lovely.I'm with roma on the wardrobe issue though Envy Grin

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 15:53

really MM? thank you. I love it. It so nearly could have been something else (found my list the other day)

Zembo just scrolled back and saw your post. Big love. Many hugs. I'm so sorry.

GeorginaWorsley · 22/11/2010 15:54

Def agree GHD'S are the best.
My old pair brike and I read revies of Babyliss ones so bought those, were about £30.
I ended up spending another £85 on replacement GHD's a few weeks later.

Freezing here today!

ReineDeSaba · 22/11/2010 15:55

all this talk of black coated sknnies. I need to winterize my rats with an oversized slouchy cashmere sweater. Pref grey. Any ideas? Must cover top third of thigh due to thickness-of-rats issue

also think I might need red party dress. Can one (for which read - I) wear solid red?? Too much? Too Kelly le Brock?

ReineDeSaba · 22/11/2010 15:57

hehe...don't think I'll live that one down will I bun

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 15:58

I have a friend with identical twin girl babies too. Last time I saw them they funnily enough looked quite different, despite being 'identical' twins, 3 months old, bald, and in white babygros. Rather surprising, but quite convenient. I'd be afraid of mixing them up! The names you chose are lovely, I'm more mystified by people calling their children very ordinary names really.
