Not so inspired but I do so hate being threadless.

o.k...too tired and grumpy to catch up properly so can I cheat and say 'what Fritzi said'?

I've got the opposite of NY's ovulation glow...I'm actually repelling myself. I look horrendous and have managed to pack on some lbs after eating far too much since thurs.

Also I've compounding things by clearing out my wardrobe and discovered I have about 4 million grey and black dresses - none of which is quite right.

Anyway - enough moaning. DH is away for a few days from tonight so I'm going to spend the time trying on outfits and stop myself fretting about various meet ups (I have the MN one this weekend and of course our one on the 12th...plus many other less appealing things in between). If you don't hear from me you'll have to send a search party out. I will be lost under a pile of black jumper dresses (all slightly too big/small/short).

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 13:45

Roman - GHD are the best straighteners I've tried (though I don't use them often).

traceybath · 22/11/2010 13:50

Yeap agree with Hells re. straighteners and I use mine everyday.

OWW - lovely present from friend.

Hells - you are gorgeous Grin

RG - brave DD!

Bonsoir · 22/11/2010 13:52

I'm still trying to engineer the swap over of my clothes from a cupboard to a largish dressing room instead - but since this entails moving practically everything in every built-in cupboard (and there are lots of them) in the apartment, and I don't have a lot of time for it, I never seem to get there Sad.

I have now removed every single last item from a massive very inaccessible cuboard that is in one of our loos Hmm and uncovered an awful lot of dust and far too many ugly plates that DP inherited from his gramdmothers that will never sully grace a table of mine. And feel slightly despondent...

traceybath · 22/11/2010 13:56

Bonsoir - do what I do huff and puff a bit muttering about ebay etc and then get fed up shove them in a big black bag and dispose at charity shop or rubbish tip.

mrsjuan · 22/11/2010 14:02

Snap Tracey! I have a big 'ebay' box in the bottom of my wardrobe which I just know is going to end up at the charity shop.

Can second / third the GHD recommendation. They have changed my life and are still going strong after 5 years frequent use so well worth the price.

I'm very good at recycling/donating, but I think that I need to tread very carefully on the plate issue. Anyway, they are all being dishwashed and he can take a look at them this weekend and make a decision. I think that they could live in our cave.

blossoming · 22/11/2010 14:12

Well we arrived back safely. My father drives very slowly and doesn't use the indicator. So many drivers beeping us on roundabouts! It was nice to spend the morning with him and mum enjoyed having dd.
fritzi, the car will take a few days becauseum it was a bit bigger than a scrape!

Very cold here. My problem is all my stuff is 3/4 sleeve and I have very long arms. Think I need wristwarmers!

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 14:14

Yes, your dd is lovely Bonsoir, but 'fraid I have no sympathy for the complaining about new dressing room Wink.

I went to Insead once for a weekend (I think it was in the early months of 1995). It was actually for the most part a country house weekend at a v.fabulous 'hunting lodge' of some super rich people with a whole insead crowd. I had so much fun I missed the plane home!

Fleecy · 22/11/2010 14:17

roma another vote for GHDs - have had mine for ooh, around six years and they're still going strong.

rg how scary for you! Glad DD is fine.

reine I'm a pear and I've also found the Top Shop ones flattering, although not tried the Gap ones. Wore them to a child's birthday party the other day with charcoal silk tee, boucle jacket and grey suede ankle boots. I also like them with chunky knits and could see them working with heels, cami and blazer for a night out. Very versatile and the sparkly effect makes me feel Christmassy Smile

Couldn't see the links to your grey dresses though.

hells your grey and black dresses comment made me smile. It's so easy to end up with variations on a theme!

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 14:21

How can straighteners be worth £99 Shock ? What's so special about them?

Fleecy · 22/11/2010 14:22

Oh I forgot to say. I'm not going to get the Barbour for now after all - I won one of these on eBay for a mere £36 inc. postage! It's new but missing one of the buttons and there's no spare. Easy enough to fix and a total bargain. I rather like it so am very pleased.

Fleecy · 22/11/2010 14:30

roma I had some £25 ones before and they were truly sh1te despite the fact that my hair is straight, just needs to look a little more groomed at times.

SOmeone recommended them to me and I got them through a cashback site so they were a bit cheaper. I agree they're £££ for what they were but they heat up in under a minute, do what they're supposed to and last for years.

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 14:33

OK Fleecy, and you clearly have an eye for a bargain (like the parka!). Will give them a go.

Fleecy · 22/11/2010 14:35

I love a bargain but as DH tells me (he buys fewer things but spends more on them) some things are worth it!

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 14:35

RG you poor thing. Good thinking oon the supplies. Hope all okay.

zembo please take it easy, Thinking of you

hells chin up lovely.

MM I tried on those Audrey fur boots last week, really liked them.

OWW I would always opt for the vaguely Russian looking fur hat option

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 14:43

actually - can you just ignore my earlier post...I'm grumping about things that are so minor they don't deserve air time Grin - I was just thinking outloud...should stop that!

Bonsoir - what a beautiful photo of a lovely, happy and very stylish little girl.

Did anyone see poor WIT lady's horrendous silver party dress?

Also she's linked to the top shop lace top but it looks nothing like the one she is actually wearing (which looks navy and as if it has no lining -whereas the link is to a black top which appears to have a cream lining)...LTEC what was it like in RL?

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 14:45

Roman - just saw you mention Insead...I too enjoyed a course there many years ago - rather too much fun!

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 14:47

I too am in a grump about nowt hells. Have my first period and of course Dukan appears to have stopped working (fluid retention?? please say fluid retention!!)

top was navy, crochet yoke and shoulders with nothing under, solid body. If that makes sense?

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 14:49

oh dear - we are on the same cycle! They say that happens to women who talk to each other all the time Grin

Dukan actually says in his book to expect small weight gain during period so don't worry!

traceybath · 22/11/2010 14:50

Oh yes MM - loved those boots - was contemplating ordering too.

hellsbelles · 22/11/2010 14:50

re the top....for some reason she has linked to a totally different jumper then!

Romanarama · 22/11/2010 14:52

the red WIT Capucci dress is lovely though.

LetThemEatCake · 22/11/2010 14:52
