Sorry to hear about your dd dolcee. Hope things improve soon.
Glad to hear your family were better behaved this time ollie.

I wonder what an avid and wise Christmas party would be like. Where would we have it? What would you wear? (Complete fantasy obviously!)

OOh, LTEC, I love your new 'do. Very grown-up-lady-glam!

traceybath · 12/11/2010 20:34

Lovely purchases Plum - that necklace is very much like my boden one bought with 20% discount and worn by WIT lady. Although may go off her bigtime if she is responsible for the lack of a red coat for DT.

So am off for shopping and coffee with DS1 tomorrow and am doing gap, will check out h&m necklaces as may get sister one of those for xmas - oh and I need some knee highs - the glamour. Oh and when trying on new dress I must say the m&s shapewear is so much better than spanx in my opinion and a fraction of the cost.

ABO - when are you wearing Janice? I am so loving these names - makes me laugh everytime I write them.

traceybath · 12/11/2010 20:36

LTEC - have fun!

Oh and meet-up ladies - we need to think of a venue for the 12th. Well what I mean by that is that you cool london ladies need to think of somewhere to take us country-mice Wink

PlumSykes · 12/11/2010 20:39

tracey, is the 12th daytime, or eve? Am wondering if I may be able to come?

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 20:46

Oh oh oh I have beein in RL for just one day and I have missed at least 300 posts Shock now that is avid!!!

exhaustednurse welcome! I think the clue's in the name Grin

explorerdora welcome to you too! Smile

I haven't read any of today's posts yet sorry but just wanted to say -aaargh- another dress down Friday! HATE THEM! My take today was black skinny james jeans in (is that allowed?) belstaff-type black boots from 09 and black/cream breton with E&J jacket and big scarf affair. Basically work clothes with jeans, looked bit weird

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 20:47

mrsjuan and bloss my favourite grey tights are recent acquisitions from whistles

PlumSykes · 12/11/2010 20:51

Vin, can't you just dress up? The WHOLE POINT of going to work is to wear smarty clothes (and earn the £££ to buy more). Oh, and do give P his special Friday night kick in the shins from me.

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 21:03

Grin at plum. I have pencilled that in for later! As soon as I got back from work I got the nagging and criticism I wanted to kick him then but we were in public!*

*not joking!

I could dress up but everyone takes it as a reason to wear slouchy trackie bottoms with mouldy uggs and bits of fluff and pink..which is vile sight for my bleary tired eyes first thing in the morning... anyway my immediate colleagues would not be very nice to me, I detect frostiness afoot already so I actively tried to not look too 'done'. It's not very friendly! (except a few, like the lovely compliment girl)

hmmm..

Plum its daytime about 1pm - oh plum do come Grin God that sounds seriously dodgy doesn't it!!

Vino - did you see I now have the Donna! Also have grey falke tights which I love.

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 21:04

though I do like the tip: dress for the job you want not the job you have.

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 21:07

tracey hurrah for the donna!!! in red?? I need want it! I only have black (so far!) It's like the short sleeved anglomania but for winter, really easy to dress up and down I love it and it makes my post-BF post-pregnancy figure look pretty decent even without spanx which is an achievement

Fleecy · 12/11/2010 21:12

Thanks plum - at that price I wouldn't have to spend all the time worrying about ruining them. I will check them out.

vin surely it's not compulsory to dress down?

Hope those who are out really enjoy their evenings.

traceybath · 12/11/2010 21:13

Vin - it is indeed in the red! Couldn't find it in the black.

Vin - are you around on the 12th December - would love to meet you.

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 21:16

black from harvey nichols, red looks much more 'wow' though well done!! Grin

notyummy · 12/11/2010 21:21

Yes, enjoy your nights out everyone Envy. I have some dates in the diary tbh so can't sulk too much!

traceybath · 12/11/2010 21:22

I'm just trying to sort out a night away next year as its DH's 40th. Lordy though - how expensive are nice hotels!!

Romanarama · 12/11/2010 21:22

Great do cake, I have more or less the same but above the shoulder, and mousy English, so am in your shadow.

Vin I also loathe dress down Friday. When I'm in charge I'm going to have dress up Friday. My heart sinks as I walk past the blokes in their unironed shapeless t-shirts.

So I ignore it. Last week I went in in Stuart Weizmann nude heels with a Jigsaw black ponteroma dress. I looked positively glorious compared to everyone else Grin. Wearing my work clothes is indeed just about the only thing I like about my job!

Yangy I've got some stories about aps before you go that way!

vinvinoveritas · 12/11/2010 21:23

LTEC FABULOUS hair! And outfit! Very lovely!! I think I need Mellon hair, I have a hair rut going on. It's same length/colour but no discernible style, I feel a bit 'blah' with my current hair

traceybath · 12/11/2010 21:23

Esher - where are you . . . Are you warm or are you snuggling up with hot water bottles by candle light Wink

NY - do you think you may move more london-way for jobs?

notyummy · 12/11/2010 21:24

I know what you mean Tracey. I am v keen on posh hotels myself..... just wish they were cheaper!! What sort of thing did you fancy?

traceybath · 12/11/2010 21:25

Romana - are you umm still booked in for your little procedure this month?

And I always envisage you as a super-model anyway? You know a very intelligent one too

Romanarama · 12/11/2010 21:27

What is the Donna, is that VWA?

I hate Uggs - does anyone here like them? No one wears those to the office on Friday as I've noticed, though there were manky flip flops in the summer. I also hate birkenstocks. Am I strange?

traceybath · 12/11/2010 21:28

Well am hoping to get my mother down for 24 hours so we won't want to go too far. DH just wants to go to Lucknam as thats 10 mins away and spend all the time relaxing Blush

But a deluxe room is £450+ so with dinner etc thats nearly £1000 for one night - I mean that is crazy isn't it!!

notyummy · 12/11/2010 21:29

Jobs- well I would def have more choice at the kind of salary I would like closer to London. (Not that I am guaranteed to get them!) The problem is with dh. He has limited control over where he will be posted. He has asked for London, but frankly another job in Lincs is just as likely for him. Alternatively there is one being touted in Las Vegas!!
