Sorry to hear about your dd dolcee. Hope things improve soon.
Glad to hear your family were better behaved this time ollie.

I wonder what an avid and wise Christmas party would be like. Where would we have it? What would you wear? (Complete fantasy obviously!)

Saw this lace dress in the NOTHS catalogue and liked - thought of you Yangy when it said forties style!
here

dexter73 · 12/11/2010 13:04

I also like this but think I would look like an extra from Starsky and Hutch.

Also, forgot to say thanks notyummy for the suggestion of heat pack!

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2010 13:17

ugh, I have been doing so well on the no -sugar thing but something about having a hangover really makes me want a cup of strong tea with about 3 sugars vigorously stirred in.

Will resist, make a lemon & ginger herbal and go back to read links

notyummy · 12/11/2010 13:20

LTEC - What you need is a can of full fat coke accompanied by a baked potato, tuna and cheese.

as LTEC faints at the prospect {grin]

traceybath · 12/11/2010 13:28

And a bacon sandwich with mayonaise - oh yum - I craved those during 3rd pregnancy, well that and m&s iced buns Grin

Both my children are having a nap - at the same time - this is unheard of!

hellsbelles · 12/11/2010 13:29

apuski - the navy janice didn't work for my bottom me either! But stripey was much better.

Tracey - how very wise - Pickled what/who is HFW?

Yangy & bloss it sounds like you are flying the A&W stylish flag today as is Fritzi with her swishy hair (and Cake I'm sure with her mellonhead!). If I win the lottery I shall have blow drys everyday - I feel 100 times better with swishy hair.

I laughed when I read the returns comment...it's a standing joke here (DS always mentions it) that things go out of the door almost as quickly as they come in. I think they must have me on some sort of 'over returning' list by now...

bunnymother · 12/11/2010 13:30

Err, I may be wiping choc chip cookie crumbs from my face as I type...

hellsbelles · 12/11/2010 13:31

Tracey - can you stop! That sounds too delicious for words!

Fleecy · 12/11/2010 13:34

hells I once got banned from a catalogue for returning too much. They did free delivery and returns and I obviously didn't keep enough to make them any money at all. Happy days!

I haven't had lunch yet and you naughty lot are making me very hungry indeed.

cake where are the pics? We demand pics!

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2010 13:35

well, as a vegetarian non-wheat eater the bacon sarnie is out of the question.... ooh, but back in the day ... mmmm (ketchup though not mayo)

But the baked potato certainly wouldn't be. Despite what you may think ny, I actually eat happily and voraciously, within my (self-imposed) limitations as to food groups. Freely admit that I don't do as much exercise as you, so have to watch my physique in other ways.

But thanks ever so for your concern. Smile I'm off to clear up the mess from the scrambled egg and salmon that all four of us have just had for lunch. Smile

traceybath · 12/11/2010 13:41

Ketchup on a bacon sandwich [sharp intake of breath] - thats a travesty.

Scrambled egg and smoked salmon is one of my favourite things with lots of capers too . . .

Am contemplating cherry cake for my lunch - oh yes I am so healthy Wink

notyummy · 12/11/2010 13:48

Was not meaning to be sarky LTEC - please don't feel miffed.

I genuinely thought you were dairy intolerant and didn't do large amount of carbs in one hit so a baked potato with cheese may be my idea of hangover heaven, but thought it would be your hell. And obviously the coke doesn't work for those on the thread who are off the sugar.

Wasn't trying to have a dig, honest!

bunnymother · 12/11/2010 13:48

Oooh, snap Cakey - I had a smoked salmon, cream cheese, dill, tomato and avocado bagel for lunch. All I need now is a curly tail to go with my pink snout...

pickledsiblings · 12/11/2010 13:51

You mean I'm going to have to spell it out for you hells?

You know, that 'Hugh' River Cottage chef chap Grin?

bacon and capers, now that's a combo I could go for

Is WIT on this thread?

Please make yourself known and quickly!!

I HAD a red coat on order and went to collect at lunchtime today - very non discreet Sales Assistant told me that someone from Red Magazine has snapped the last four all up, including mine which was ON HOLD. Can they do this? Yes, they can apparently!

Now I am all flustered, hot, bothered and annoyed for wasting my precious lunch hour!

I need a little word about my ongoing Red Magazine subscription......... Biscuit

blossoming · 12/11/2010 14:03

This will cheer you up ltec. Photos are up!! I've put the feather dress and bec up to compare too!

pickledsiblings · 12/11/2010 14:11

I hope you don't mind if I offer my opinion bloss.

The two dresses that you own look way better on you than any of the others.

It's always a good idea to wear something that looks great on you when clothes shopping. If the new potential purchase doesn't look as good then don't bother.

I like to think of it as up-levelling (or something like that).

Zembo · 12/11/2010 14:11

Afternoon ladies. Tracey been meaning to ask you which cookie dough recipe you use?

I had lentil, cheese & carrot wedge with salad for lunch, followed by a slice of carrot cake (Fab Cafe Fresh recipe)

I'm wearing navy blue heattech polo under this french blue tunic, black wolfords and Belstaff with hobbs long dangly necklace thingy, feel nice and cosy.

Roary I don't have any uniqlo thermals and pregnancy so asymptomatic that I'm wondering if I should do another test Grin of course I won't.

carciofi did you have a scan yesterday? - how did it go?
