Carciofi - got new asos mag today and french connection are doing maternity stuff.

Have just ordered the keratase shampoo as hair looking so lank.

mrsjuan · 01/11/2010 13:46

Ah, hells, your DS sounds lovely.

I don't understand how all you non ironers do it - I try to hang stuff up as soon as it comes out of the washing machine but it is still crumpled and it doesn't fold properly if I don't iron it Confused Do you all use the tumble drier a lot?

Who was it talking about the groundhog day nature of houseowrk etc? I always get that feeling when I'm wiping the kitchen surfaces for the nth time in a day - the other day I realised that barring something incredible happening I will be wiping the surfaces every day, several times a day until the day I die. Depressing or what?!

I may well be in London anyway on Dec 12th so could brave the meet up for part of the day - how exciting!

carciofi · 01/11/2010 13:48

Thanks, Tracey, just got that magazine through the door so will check. I am actually losing weight at the moment (no wine/can't eat!).

carciofi · 01/11/2010 13:54

Our dishwasher is broken so even more boring cleaning. I leave all the ironing for the cleaning lady (I'm lazy).

We are moving the weekend of the meetup so yet again, I won't meet you.

hellsbelles · 01/11/2010 13:56

MrsJ - I don't think it's always a matter of the clothes not being ironed...it's just that they don't get ironed by us Wink

I had the most bizzare thing with my-wardrobe. On Friday they sent this amazing invite to a special event to take place tonight.

The first 10 applicants won a fab night at the mayfair - with stylists, booze, freebie gift bag etc etc I replied saying it sounded wonderful but I couldn't make it but would love to hear about future events. 10 mins later I get a reply saying I'm one of the winning 10 Shock. I wrote straight back saying 'noooo', as mentioned I can't go - please give my place to someone else. I thought all was fine but I got another email last night saying they were looking forward to seeing me! I've had to ring to explain the whole thing and now they probably think I'm a nutter.

mrsjuan · 01/11/2010 14:01

Ah, I see Blush. There are a lot of non ironers altogether on MN though aren't there or have I been spectacularly missing the point all along?

They obviously really wanted you there hells! Can't you send someone else from here pretending to be you? Although that would involve even more explaining Grin

Debating whether to wake DD up from her nap in the hope that she might sleep better tonight - although the alternative is another cup of coffee and half an hour's more peace...

hellsbelles · 01/11/2010 14:03

mrsJ - actually maybe it's just me! I was an ironer...but have now admitted defeat and added an extra hour or so to my cleaners bill so I don't have to. Very lazy but oh the luxury!

And yes - I think it was all a plot by my-wardrobe to FORCE me to go Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 01/11/2010 14:18

hells My wardrobe event sounds wonderful! Is there no way you can go???

FritziGreenEyes · 01/11/2010 14:21

I only do as little ironing as possible, i.e. none for DH as his shirts go to drycleaner's, only a couple of dresses for DD and the odd dress/skirt/shirt for me. Everything else is fine without ironing (at least this is what I tell myself).

notyummy · 01/11/2010 14:22

Ironing? What's that? Grin A combination of my Mothers Help and DH do it here. Mostly DH because he doesn't think that the Mothers Help does it well enough. Being good at ironing is one of the benefits of a military DH (...although there are definitely a few drawbacks Hmm)

traceybath · 01/11/2010 14:28

I iron - actually don't mind it and I like ironed clothes/bedding.

It is the great mn divide though Wink Well that and shoes off or on.

MarshaBrady · 01/11/2010 14:32

Ha ha

Fleecy · 01/11/2010 14:34

hells am jealous - you're obviously very in demand. Is it for the Vogue thing? Lots of people doing online stuff.

I never iron. I just dry flat/hang up straight away/use my tumble dryer. Am so very careful about switching appliances off at the wall, turning lights off etc so as not to waste energy but I don't have a washing line and dry everything indoors, lots in the dryer. Must get a washing line! Don't have cleaner either - house is big so when I added up how much it would cost over the year, I decided I'd rather just do it myself. DH and I share 50/50 and do a little bit each day so it's never that bad.

Just did the most punishing circuit training class I've ever done. Stretched lots afterwards in the hope that I might be able to walk tomorrow!

I'm not going to be able to make the meet-up either. I'm free but they're doing work on the line that day so it would involve two trains and a bus before even getting to London for tube. And that means a longer journey time, more expensive tickets and a very early start (am out the night before).

blossoming · 01/11/2010 14:34

I can't make meet up either but will be in London for pre Christmas hair appoinment on the 4th if anyone fancies lunch?

Fleecy · 01/11/2010 14:37

tracey what does that make me then if I don't iron but I keep my shoes on? Grin

notyummy · 01/11/2010 14:38

I think that makes you very posh Fleecy! Grin

MarshaBrady · 01/11/2010 14:39

Same as me Fleecy, but do a have cleaner Grin
a riddle in a puzzle

carciofi · 01/11/2010 14:39

Blossoming, yes, me! I feel ok thanks, just not as hungry as normal.

Bunny, I saw you mention maternity Baxters on another thread. Do they stay up and do you just go with your regular size?

Fleecy · 01/11/2010 14:43

Yes ny that must be it. I like it!

marsha nice to know I'm not the only one!

How lovely that we now have maternity style-swapping tips as well. bunny can dispense her knowledge to others in need

DolceeBanana · 01/11/2010 14:47

Aww Hells...your DS does sound very thoughtful. My DS is the same...caring about what's right and wrong. Smile

I use this shampoo and very good it is too!

Re ironing again (dull, dull, dull), I used to leave for cleaner but she was so rubbish at it I spent the entire time moaning about it, so no longer leave it for her!!! One way of getting out of it I suppose!

carciofi · 01/11/2010 14:50

I hate maternity clothes. Even the IO range is the same as three years ago.
