Good necklace at M&S for the Esher/WIT breton + statement bling look.

Isn't it lovely when visitors go home again? Friend has arrived on Sun has gone back to London today. Not that I get much time to get used to having house to self, as vegan, no-booze MIL arrives at noon tomorrow. Oh joy.

Grisly couple of days here-DS cut 2 molars today, DD obviously coming down with something, and very disagreeable.

this arrived in the grey today. Much too thin and cottony and belt is miles away from my waist, so is going straight back.

happilyeverafter · 28/10/2010 22:17

That's such a sweet little coat everything

OWW great spot on the Kate Garraway shoeboots, they certainly look the ones I have ordered and pleased now as they appear to be leg lengthening lovelies!

Off out tomorrow night with DH, my parents and his - to see the band who played at our wedding gig at a local pub. Really looking forward to it despite aftermath of cold leaving me with broken red skin around my nose and muchos snuffling.

Fritzi really hope work improves soon - I have always found the first few days in any job to be no indicator so here's hoping things improve drastically.

yangy hope all is ok x

happilyeverafter · 28/10/2010 22:21

Good neckbling plum

I'm doing the breton/necklace thing tomorrow also, was planning to wear my FC knit dress with multi layered necklace/tights/heels/blazer so will try it tomorrow and see.

bunnymother · 28/10/2010 22:30

Plum - I have opposite situation - wore new charcoal grey wool open cardi from Gap (£40) and liked it even more than when bought it the other day. Maybe because the front is double layered so v warm but still a nice fine knit. Not on website so can't link but i recommend.

FritziGreenEyes · 29/10/2010 06:09

Thanks for all your good wishes ladies re work and party tomorrow. With DH away almost all the week, sore throat and party looming this was probably not the best week to start a new job but one of my problems is that I can't say no. DH is back now and is taking DD to my parents house this morning. They left at 6:30 to hopefully avoid the worst traffic.

everything Great coat for DS! As Marsha's brother will confirm Berlin can be incredibly cold in winter so better take a really warm coat. Are congrats in order due to your not going to indulge in the Glühwein? Or did I just completely misread that? Wink

mrsj Have done similar pumpkin with DD. Made only one and we used an apple corer for the holes and put a marble in each hole. Looks lovely with a candle inside. DD insisted that the pumpkin has to wear a paper princess crown with glitter on.

Someone at kindergarten told me that trick or treating is a big thing around here and I have stocked up on sweets to be prepared. Any of you celebrating Halloween?

plum Good luck with MIL. Can you at least drink while she is at your house or

zembo At least you found out that the scarf was a fake and get your money back. Still annoying though... Have been lusting after a Steven Sprouse LV scarf for ages. DH wanted to buy me one for my birthday. Apparently the grey one is sold out in all shops in the US and Europe at the moment. Was very impressed by his thorough research.

bloss Hope DD is better soon and you can go and get your beauty supplies. Will try to arrange blowdry for tomorrow. Don't know if I'll make it to a MAC counter as there are still so many things to do.

Has anyone heard from cake? Hope everything is ok...

FritziGreenEyes · 29/10/2010 06:10

plum meant to say ... or do you have to abstain too?

blossoming · 29/10/2010 08:42

Good to hear from you mrsj, and great pumpkins.

fritzi, take time for you. Let the caterers and your dh take charge while you look fabulous and sip champagne.

Thanks for all your concern re dd. She seems more herself today although is very hoarse, bless her.

Agree with fritzi everything. Do you have some explaining to do?

Good luck with the ILs plum

Have decided to do my beauty purchases online. Have bought two things from JL, no p&p, and if the p&p for the other things come to a tenner it's okay because that would be parking and coffees. How dull though!

I'm off to make dc1's favourite coffee cupcakes next. Such torture!!

OllieWollieWoo · 29/10/2010 08:45

Morning. DH has taken the day off work as DS1 has no school today - we are heading off out for a family day! No idea where yet - let DH have a lie in and we are all still in our PJs.

Had a bit of a Sad moment yesterday - was writing a long email to a friend to catch up and waffled on about DH's new job, DSss etc and then when it came to the bit about whats new with me - all I could write was 'I've had a fringe cut'!!!! Was a wake up call as have been feeling a bit fed up with the ground hog nature of life at the moment (I get irrationally irritated unloading the dishwasher at the same time evry day!) so am going to go along to a monthly Professional International Womans Group (name sounds dire but will be nice to meet new people and start talking about new job opportunities for when DS2 starts school) and will also sign up for a going back to work workshop thats run over here for expats. Also know the trip back to the UK next week will put the spring back in step!

Right, enough about me - Fritzi - hope you have a super party. Can't remember if you told us what you will be wearing? Hope the damp problem can be fixed without too much hassle or expense. Its like Blossomings car - such a misuse of Net a Porter lot of money!
Mrsjuan - amazing pumpkins. Not really into Halloween over here - they celebrate St Martin in a couple of weeks where kids walk round with lanterns knocking on doors and receiving sweets - its like Halloween without any of the scary stuff!
Oops gotta run - DH out of the shower and asking if I am still on MN!

carciofi · 29/10/2010 08:46

Zembo, I can't believe that the seller didn't know it was fake but at least you got your money back. I sell quite a bit but am very wary of buying on eBay.

Fritzi, hope you feel better for tomorrow and enjoy the party! I agree that you need to give it a few days when starting a new job. We always had parties for Halloween as children but it doesn't seem popular here.

Thinking of buying a few things from Isabella Oliver as there is 25% off at the moment but it is a bit early.

Blossoming, my DD did that a few times, not nice!

traceybath · 29/10/2010 09:04

Trying to get take that tickets - the stress Grin

carciofi · 29/10/2010 09:14

Ollie, that sounds like a good idea.
Bloss, yes, very annoying about the car!

blossoming · 29/10/2010 09:19

If anyone can, you can traceybath. Remember the outnet sale?!

DolceeBanana · 29/10/2010 09:22

Bloss...oh poo! I mean about the car, not, er, your DD Grin ! Hate it when you get v expensive unforseen bills!!!

Re Poo incident! -My son (aged 12 months at the time) pooed all over the bed (and me) at a very upmarket hotel once...at about 5 am. It meant getting up, bathing us both and then having to ring the housekeeping department to explain. Very Blush ! At least your DD didn't get to smear it anywhere....my DD did go through a revolting phase of doing this at about 18 months...something we have to look forward to !!!? eek....

Zembo- I'm annoyed for you about that scarf...I think I would make a comment on the site about the seller, as its incredible that she would not be aware that its a fake.
Ooh, all these babies..... < broody >

Bunny - some girls names I really like that I thought of for your dearests....Smile
Brue, Dulcie, Hermione, Camilla, Honor and Prudence (love Prue, as in Leith)
I just the whole baby naming thing.....almost worth having another...!!!

Fritzi - take care of you...and it will undoubtedly get better..

Off to view a house today....Hmm pessimistic old bugger that I am !!!

DolceeBanana · 29/10/2010 09:24

Oh I love Take That now...wasn't interested in them first time around!

Just noticed I was very handy with the faces in my earlier post! Blush Sorry...whoops!

carciofi · 29/10/2010 09:32

Good luck with the house, Dolcee.

Zembo, I've been thinking about it and I think you should leave negative feedback. She is a seller I would want to avoid.

monkeysmama · 29/10/2010 09:41

For such wise ladies some of you have sure tastes in music! (& eye candy) Grin

monkeysmama · 29/10/2010 09:42

Bad taste I meant!

traceybath · 29/10/2010 09:45

Oh I am not cool in any way - but I do love Robbie and take that Grin

Still no tickets though.

Fleecy · 29/10/2010 09:46

zembo can you leave neutral feedback? My friend regularly buys Mulberry handbags on eBay then sells them on again when she's bored with them. She believes them to be genuine but I don't think one of them was - thing is, she genuinely didn't know and I suspect lots of people don't so it's conceivable your seller didn't.

Having said that, buyers definitely need to know that if they buy anything from her it might not be the real deal. So could you leave neutral feedback saying it was fake but she sorted it out?

We don't celebrate Halloween either OWW and we're in the UK!

dolcee you don't seem to be having a lot of luck with the househunting so it's about time something came up for you.

Where is everything She's not here to answer the allegations Grin

mrsjuan · 29/10/2010 10:04

Morning - I have got tickets for Manchester! So excited. I wasn't that fussed about them first time round but went to see their comeback tour a few years ago and honestly, it was the best gig I've ever been to (and I have been to some cool ones).

Need to pick up a friend from the station now but will be back later.

Good luck Tracey

blossoming · 29/10/2010 10:06

So I got my beauty supplies for £11.45 p&p. All to arrive in 3-5 working days. So next Friday then. Good job you lot won't be able to see me!

traceybath · 29/10/2010 10:10

Ooooh Mrsj who did you use? And well done Grin

monkeysmama · 29/10/2010 10:42

Only teasing you Take That fans. I was a New Kids stalker fan in my youth Blush. I love music and we always have my iPod on. Dd loves a bit of reggae and a dance with her cheers up any day Grin.

Blossoming I usually get my make up by mail order too. Boots website is a bit crap but I do a monthly order there for basics and an order at spake nk every few months. I use Bare Minerals and have found a great eBay seller who delivers next day - a better service than any shop!

I don't really like Halloween but it's familytastic around here so we had about 20 groups of kids come round last year. Dd was only 1.5 and petrified. We will do a pumpkin and dd has asked to dress up like one too.

Waiting for my M&S order. I ordered the fur coat before Tracey found me my dream one and have shoeboots and a fur trimmed heel to arrive too. Then it's a trip to PO with lots of returns if dd is well enough (poorly with a horrid cough Sad) We have been up since 6 and were making Christmas crafty things by 7 Hmm.

Zembo · 29/10/2010 10:45

Thanks for the ebay advice ladies. Fleecy I think I can leave neutral feedback but as you say Carciofi I'd want to avoid a seller like that. Will probably go for neutral but make the issue clear in my comment - could have been worse I suppose.

Also remembered I bought some Hermes knotting cards on ebay as a gift for a friend who loves accessories.

EIE things sound like they're going well on the relationship front Wink
