Am fighting grumpiness here too - it was such a glorious autumn day on Monday with that wonderful light that make everybody look great in photos, and now (although warmer) the grey drizzle is so depressing. Am having a morning of jobs (the DSs are "helping" to tidy the playroom) the off for halloween activities this pm.

Enjoy your flowers mm and do tell us about the embarassing incident sometime... Wink

Hi brookeslay. Will go and check out your thread now.

Anyone thinking of ordering Waitrose hampers for Xmas presents - eb10 before 31st Oct gets you 10% off. Have just ordered a non-perishable one for my mum and dad!

Love those wedges MM.

Will have a look at your thread Brookeslay.

Was perusing 'shapewear' on Figleaves with discount code when I came across this and thought..... WT???????

notyummy · 27/10/2010 12:07

Have been excavating Christmas cupboard as was sure I had some cards left over from last year. Discovered 100 cards that I obviously bought in the Jan sales. All very nice. Pleased I didn't beetle out and buy any more!

Off to see what presents I have been squirreling away over the course of the year. Have a bad habit of seeing something that I know someone will like, or is a really good deal (hopefully both!) and buying it. I then put it away and forget - and buy something else for them.

I am off to write a list!

OllieWollieWoo · 27/10/2010 12:12

Boot advice needed - as you know, shoe/bbot buying is not my forte. Just walking past a boutique in the village centre and saw these in both black and grey and liked. BUT are they straying into Robin Hood territory like the ones I linked to last week?!. Be honest - I can take it! (From Marco Polo - do you have that in the UK?))
here

OP posts:
notyummy · 27/10/2010 12:22

OWW - think those are def less Robin Hood! Are you thinking with opaques and dresses or jeans?

monkeysmama · 27/10/2010 12:27

What is that thing Yummy? It hurt my eyes.

notyummy · 27/10/2010 12:31

I have no idea - but in some way I think it is supposed to hold you in...and appear alluring like suspenders..and also have a see-through slip attached...????

I note it has been reduced to half price, but I fear they may be slashing that again....

OllieWollieWoo · 27/10/2010 12:48

Skinny jeans I think NY - tho lots of people wear boots like that with skirts over here. The longer I live here the more out of touch with UK fashion I get......

OP posts:
blossoming · 27/10/2010 13:06

ollie, they're still a bit 'pixie boot', like ones I had in the 80's for my liking! Sorry!

hellsbelles · 27/10/2010 13:35

oww - I'm with Bloss on this - they aren't quite right yet - at work now so can't really scour internet for alternatives...

I think the problem is something to do with the heel - it just looks a tiny bit dated.

Have you looked at Ash ones? My-wardrobe.com stock them and there are usually some decent styles at not too crazy prices.

OllieWollieWoo · 27/10/2010 13:55

Hmm - see what you both mean. Living here is a bit like living the 80's sometimes! I've seen a couple of Ash ones in shops here Hells - bit like here and here. Will make a point of trying some on when I can. Thanks for helping.

NY - oh dear, what a bloody nuisance this hot water situation is! Re car scrape - a hex on the culprit and all their kin.

Oh dear, DD wakes... Posted a photo from this morning if you want to see what 32 weeks w twins can look like. And apparently I still have more growing to do. Um, HOW?!?! WHERE?!? There is no room at the inn, I tell you.

monkeysmama · 27/10/2010 14:09

I like the Ash and Office ones Ollie but am with the others on the first pair. I am really unkeen on the heel.

The asos order was a mixed bag. I'll keep the black harems because they're hardly harems but a hang nicely. The asos maxi dress is, quite simply vile. MOst other stuff is being returned too. These however I can't make my mind up about. They feel a bit clod-hoppery but I think any wedges will make me feel big footed at the start. Any thoughts?

monkeysmama · 27/10/2010 14:11

Lovely photo Bunny. You look great!

bunnymother · 27/10/2010 14:24

Thanks, MM, although am pretty uncomfortable and losing mobility daily. Been lucky so far but wouldn't be too upset if babies came early Wink. Re boots, I am not sold. They don't seem to be particularly good at any one thing ie not v practical as high and suede, not particularly elegant as too clumpy. BUT I am V conservative and blunt so feel free to discard my opinion!

notyummy · 27/10/2010 14:34

You look great Bunny. Despite an impressive bump your face still looks petite and slim - although my bump wasn't very big, and I only put on 2 stone, my face blew up like a balloon. All the pics I have of me in late pregnancy and straight after I just look at my face and shudder at all the chins!

monkeysmama · 27/10/2010 14:58

Thanks Bunny - kind of what I think but I've been looking at them for months and there is something I like about them. Will have a trying on session later.

I can't wait for your girls to be born! Have you decided on a few names? It feels like the time has gone so quickly - I've not been carrying them for 32 weeks obv. Grin.

florenceuk · 27/10/2010 14:58

Many thanks to OWW for the links, the stamp sets and Deadly 60 book look great (I think it is me that loves stamp sets though the most).

Congrats to all the newly announced conceptions and the impending births! Also mucho sympathy for relationshop angst.

Have splurged on cocosa and bought an N Peal grey coat along with a few here for members - presume you all are members! But now beset with uncertainty as to the wisdom of this buy. What do you think? I was tempted before the White Company cashmere long hoodies and this looks a bit more substantial for not much more money.

vinvinoveritas · 27/10/2010 16:05

bunny you are SO pretty and your DD is adorable- bump is incredibly 'neat' ie it's an impressive twin bump, but it's just a bump, you look normal everywhere else! How do you do that!? Envy Grin

vinvinoveritas · 27/10/2010 16:14

Thank you for your words of wisdom oh wise and wordly and eminently stylidh ones. I have possibly found a childminder (?? I have to call her later) but P has now said he will look after him. I may still need a back-up.. I'm also about 90% split from him anyway so if I evict him I really won't miss him, and doing the maths, I'd be better off financially on my own and working

ON a great note..

I went to a charity shop today (never normally do) and I purchased my own trousers back Blush yes really- zara ones I gave them last time I had a clear-out. No idea why I got rid of them, I've now got a bit podgier (eeek) and they fit perfectly

Also, for a grand sum of £4.50 I found a lace dress!! sz 10, fits perfectly, 3/4 length lace sleeves.. will try and find a pic of one similar. Marvellous. And.. wise

blossoming · 27/10/2010 16:22

Wow bunny, that's just incredible. You've grown in twelve days!! I imagine you'll have the gorgeous babies and fit straight into some size 8 houlihans, or the like. Good for you.
I am ashamed as I remember the state of me last year.

Just took dd to out of hours surgery. (Quaintly/irritatingly this town shuts on Wednesday afternoons). She was wheezing. I'm irrational. She has dc1's virus, that's all.

And then I lost Safari (the iPhone web browser). And it was then I knew I was an addict!! I hadn't lost it. I'd just moved it. Don't ask!!

DolceeBanana · 27/10/2010 16:28

Bunny - lovely pics...what you talking about woman...very neat bump for twins and looking good!

Hells - re dress, really liked it at first, then kept looking and decided didn't like jersey fabric...want more tailored maybe...probably exactly like my long dress which is black wool crepe with straight neck, but showing collar bones and elegantly backless...but knee length. Still looking!

Roma - lol at your dh and the clean pants!!! They are all the same I tell you!!! Grin

MM- right Missy...why don't you organise a night out just the two of you? Have some time as a couple....kids do make many demands on your attention, which is lovely, but you need time together alone to remember that!

Notyummy - sorry about DD...hope she's better soon. Ear infections are horrid.
