This way ladies....

Whoa - that was a half page post?!

traceybath · 14/10/2010 12:52

I looked at those NY so cute but too big at present for DD.

So DD is going to need boots, shoes and wellies for winter - more expensive than the boys who just live in wellies really.

bunnymother · 14/10/2010 12:53

Tracey - DD has boots v similar to the KG ones, but in black suede. Gap are doing them. My tough little girl Smile

Little girls' shoes are just so adorable (unless pink and glittery - loathe that look).

blossoming · 14/10/2010 12:56

Nice KG's traceybath, and I can't wait for dd to walk so she can have similar boots to your bea's.

I think you must wear a maxi notyummy. How else would we recognize you?

notyummy · 14/10/2010 12:59

Bunny - Yes, makes the eyes water... TBH, I have blocked that bit out as best as I can Grin I was all very calm and deep breathing until that bit - DH couldn't believe the silence! During the, ermm, insertion and pulling I screamed the place down. Poor DH, I honestly think he is more traumatised by the memory than me. He was in floods, but trying to be strong for me. The irony is I was refusing pain relief to avoid an instrumental delivery, as I heard that an induction (as I had) was more likely to lead to one! I still ended up having a epidural AFTER delivery (too bloody late, I remember saying to the nurse..) as I had to go theatre for various things to be done.

Will shut up now. We are both alive, healthy and undamaged...and that is the best outcome alround.

notyummy - no wonder you were pale after the birth! I am pale just reading about it.

blossoming · 14/10/2010 13:23

Oh you poor things! I feel very lucky to have avoided assisted delivery even though have had two inductions with gas and air and pethidine both times

Bored of listing now, just one to go.

oh my goodness - I am kind of skim reading the birth horror stories...!

Yangy I can't see your photos.

Everything - what a beautiful photo - love it. And you look great in the anthropologie shot too!

DH went camera crazy when DD was born (he wasn't at DS's birth due to having chicken pox Shock)....but actually I don't mind the photos. I have never ever been happier (it was such a terrifying pregnancy) and you can sort of tell in the photos.

Love all the little boots. Just got DD some too but can't link as a RL purchase! They are purple. I really am shocking with DD - I swore I would never dress a daughter of mine in pink/purple but I'm afraid I do rather too often.

Roma - I hope the loneliness has eased.

Cake - can't wait to hear how the coat looks. I should get my see by chloe trousers t/m - fingers crossed they don't make my bottom huge.

MM - I am now a 27 or 28 in jeans/cords but with Jbrands I find the 28 most comfortable (though a tiny bit loose)...so I guess a 31 would be like a 30 in other brands. What does everyone else find with jbrands?

Romanarama · 14/10/2010 13:30

Jesus, can't believe you endured induced contractions without an epidural, let alone forceps Shock. And to have an epi AFTERWARDS Shock Shock

I hope you got some good jewellery for all that Grin

Romanarama · 14/10/2010 13:31

Hells I have 3 pairs of jbrands. They are all 26: 2 fit and one is at least one size too big Hmm

Good point Roma - where is my eternity ring then, eh?

I do get DDs birthday cakes made for me though Grin

Heroic...or deluded 'non pain relief' freak. Hmm Frankly, we are all heroes as it is all hard work one way or another.

I did have a pretty easy pregnancy compared to many though - so perhaps it evens out! Only symptom was heartburn.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 14/10/2010 13:42

Roma that's bonkers isn't it. You would have thought they would get their sizing consistant. O.k. MM on that basis I would say that the cords a tiny bit on the small size (and I don't think they need to be quite as tight as jeans iyswim).

Yangy - gorgeous photos.

I think J brands are more true to size than other brands - more top shop size rather than m&s.

3 c-sections here and very nice they were too Grin. 1st wasn't ol but DS's enormous head put paid to natural delivery. Thats what happens when 5ft me marries 6ft4 DH Smile

So think I'm going to get the KG boots tomorrow when in funds again Smile

I like pink but DD doesn't wear much - I love her in grey and navy really. Hence I guess she gets mistaken for a boy so much Hmm However now have hair clips to hold her hair back so hopefully will be less confusion.

Have to register DS2 for starting at the pre-school of DS1's school - he'll do 3 mornings from January. Well providing I manage to get him out of nappies Hmm

hellsbelles · 14/10/2010 13:51

Cake - weren't you after a bargain stella m style cardi? Check out the WIT blog today here

Tracey - DD still got mistaken for a boy when she was wearing pink! Until she grew some hair (finally). She takes after me. I got mistaken for a boy while wearing a bikini (yes I know that's weird but I loved it) at age 8. They must have thought I was a very odd boy to wear a bikini.

KG boots look lovely and cosy!

I had horrible pregnancies and lovely easy peasy births!

blossoming · 14/10/2010 13:55

I got mistaken for a boy publicly when I was 15/16. Traumatised.

I am going to have to hide this thread, already having nightmares about childbirth! I plan to beg for a cs.

Blossoming, I tried on the dresses, really nice so thanks.

Tracey, nice boots and Fritzi, I vote for the D&G black dress.

Romanarama · 14/10/2010 14:09

carciofi just arrange an epi early on. Lovely!

tracey I hate that 'out of nappies' rule. Much easier to change the odd nappy than all those wet trousers. I had this with ds2 (he was 2.10 when started school all day and not really ready for no nappies). I just left a bag of spare trousers at school. Pull ups would have made more sense for everyone.
