NY I love Dexter too!
For some reason you can't skyplus BBC 4 in Ireland. Have to tune it in especially as well.
Bloss that's interesting about the kikkoman, good to know. Remind me what colour you got in Barbour again? The black? I think I'm a winter like you, but as against that "think" brown looks ok on me.

Shame the j brands didn't work out Carciofi think of the money saved!

blossoming · 09/09/2010 14:13

Gorgeous coats bunny.

blossoming · 09/09/2010 14:15

I got the black rufus. They're promising wind and rain for the next few days. Yipee!!

hellsbelles · 09/09/2010 14:22

afternoon all. Sorry I've been absent - still have DS off school and just can't get on the computer (for MN or online shopping for that matter!).

I only have quickly skimmed but I did see your wonderful news MM - that is so great to hear.

Tracey - you are right...I took 5 days to see a difference with Dukan and then it all happened really quickly. Are you still trying?

I've got the NAP Alexander McQueen thing tonight. Bloody terrified. Dress code is 'smart casual' which is my nightmare. I never get that right.

O.k...better go...DD is on sleep strike.

Zembo · 09/09/2010 15:05

Bloss really like the look of your barbour - am tempted by it but after your experience wondering if the size 8 might be too big for me? Did it cost you a fortune to send the bigger one back? I'm a real tightwad when it comes to postage - totally irrational considering how much I spend on stuff!

blossoming · 09/09/2010 15:56

£8.65 with special delivery zembo. Does this make sense: Eid Mubarak???

Zembo · 09/09/2010 16:55

Thanks Bloss, will give it a go.

Yes Eid Mubarak is equivalent to happy xmas. Hopefully everyone should be celebrating tomorrow. I've had enough of fasting so can't wait!

blossoming · 09/09/2010 17:41

Well Eid Mubarak to you and your family then zembo.

Has anyone tried on the Gap really skinny trousers?

I have never worn Gap, although have tried, but have been curious about this new range. Something I need to do in RL probably.

blossoming · 09/09/2010 17:53

Did I mention I was desperate for some shoe boots?

carciofi · 09/09/2010 18:18

Eid Mubarak, Zembo!

Oooh, I love those in the leopard print Blossoming.

Free postage and 20% off Lily & Lionel with code REP719HF1% valid until end of Sept.

I am thinking of these instead of the Houlihans.

Those coats are fab Bunny and I also like all the Barbour coats.

Going out to dinner tonight with friends so must find something to wear.

rufus101 · 09/09/2010 18:37

Why are you doing this to me Carciofi?! Am now contemplating this python belt

I know someone linked to biker boots. I saw these these biker boots from New Look Would like to see in RL.

traceybath · 09/09/2010 19:41

Evening ladies.

Went shopping this morning as just had the youngest 2 and had supplies of apples/rice cakes and a trip to carluccios.

M&S have some nice stuff in at the moment surprisingly.

H&M website online if you sign-up you get VIP access.

Love the purple coat Bloss.

Bunny - lovely cashmere.

Carciofi - I too returned houlihans as just weren't that flattering on me.

Like those current/elliott ones carciofi. I'm desperate to have a look round the shops. Shall I go tomorrow instead of to 'you & me', or wait till London next week???
Spider joined me for circuit 3, before Jillian scared it away!!

everything, do m&s menswear have autograph? My dh wears jeans or cords to work with a smart shirt. Would gap be any good?

notyummy · 09/09/2010 21:51

Not particular exciting, but I bought DH some really good quality clothes from John Lewis for his birthday last month. A reasonable range and you certainly find something in the price you are looking for.

MM Wonderful news about your Dad!

NY It is not wrong to fancy a serial killer when it's Dexter Morgan. I love the show and am fascinated with Michael C Hall.

I wore WC dress today for first time, teamed with navy tights and red mary janes. Nearly all of my team commented positively on it as did a couple of women in a meeting this afternoon then a lady chased me round Co-Op to ask where it was from! Was pleasantly surprised as wasn't entirely sold but now will feel better in it for all compliments.

Rufus I like the look of those biker boots, I have seen some long brown riding boots in M&S that would be great for everyday but am tempted by those also.

I am loving the Barbour Tracey such a great twist on a classic, DH suggested I get a Barbour last year - if only I'd realised how avid he was!

Cain The spds were a roaring success and managed 30 miles in them yesterday without incident. Had to do two emergency stops too but each time managed to unclip safely. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I hit the deck but so far so good.

Oh and has anyone got the cashmere wristwarmers from Pure Collection. I have a bracelet sleeve coat that would be perfect on colder days with longer gloves. How far up these go? Most gloves stop at my wristbone but ideally could use some a couple of inches longer up arm.

bunnymother · 09/09/2010 22:52

Eie - how about Zara for your DH?

Night night Wise Ladies!

OllieWollieWoo · 10/09/2010 07:43

Morning! Have the luxury of DH doing the school run today so am sat here in Pj's with a cup of tea. Yey!
MM such lovely news about your Dad.

RE DH's dress style - think I have mentioned before he is about as preppy as you can get! Just doesn't do casual - the only round neck t-shirts he owns are white ones which he wears under (nice) polo shirts! Looks great in jeans and a shirt tho. Its his bday in a couple of weeks and I'm really stuck re what to buy him. He needed a new leather belt but treated himself to one last week - gah!

Tried a chunky poncho on yesterday - loved the colour (oatmeal) and style (cowl neck) but it was way too long -too a real effort to get hands and arms up and out if that makes sense! The WC one looks a much better buy as it is that bit shorter.

Meant to ask - did anyone watch the BBC2 programe - School Lottery I think it was called! Really interesting -really felt for some of the kids that didn't get into the school they wanted. All looked a very stressful experience for the parents too.

What is everyone up to this WE? I'm out tonight with some expat Mums from school - all taking dishes to someone's house - I'm making raspberry and kiwi pavolva. A couple of the Mums are Spanish and make the most amazing tapas dishes so am looking forward to that! DS2's nursery has their summer party tomorrow, DH & I have a babysitter so we can out for a meal and its MIL's bday on Sunday so thats the WE pretty much taken care of!

notyummy · 10/09/2010 07:58

Eid Mubarak Zembo!

OWW- Sounds like a busy weekend! We have my parents staying tonight, and DH back for the first time in 2 weeks. Suppose to be having a BBQ, but looking at the forecast I think we will be eating inside! parents leave tomorrow, then Dd has gymnastics. Rest of the weekend is just a combination of chilling and chores!

Have a great day everyone.

Hi all

Busy few days with school & nursery settling in, and seemingly endless pick ups...so looking forward to things settling down a bit, when DS does proper days.

We have a more leisurely morning then ballet this pm, thankfully...so breathing a sigh of relief OWW, like you! DH missed taking DS to school so is going to do that next week...DS will love that!

Well OWW, we have a wedding tomorrow, so really looking forward to that. Then quiet day Sunday I hope! Your weekend sounds like you'll have fun! Hope you have a nice time....

Bloss - I have the LK Bennett boots you linked to...they are gorgeous...

Houses were not what we are looking for...okay, I like quirkiness, but adults being unable to stand in what was described as a 5th bedroom in one property; and 3 bedrooms of a six bedroom house (yeah, right!), only being accessed through one connecting bedroom, does not cut the mustard frankly! Disappointing...and I feel that some vendor's expectations on price are sometimes wildly out! Estate agent at Savills agreed with me on two properties and said that the owners were 'adamant' that they wanted a certain price for them, and so far were not prepared to listen to reason! I'd really love to find a good plot and have a house built...! So, we wait......

Lovely news about your Dad, MM.... Smile

DolceeBanana · 10/09/2010 08:22

Yes, Happy Eid Zembo! Enjoy a wonderful feast with your loved ones!

I must sign my eldest DD up for gymnastics Notyummy....anything to tire her out!!!! Mind you, two and a half days at nursery and she came home yesterday and slumped on her bed!!!

hf128219 · 10/09/2010 08:22

Eid Mubarak Zembo May you have a joyful time.

NY Glad dd is settling into school and your parents were able to help.

DH's style? Well uniform every day! Saves a fortune. Weekends chinos, smart shirt with sleeves rolled up, brogues/timberlands/panama jacks. Casual really.

His clothing treats are sailing clobber - a full set of Oilskins is well over a grand!

This weekend will be busy - we have 3 under 5's coming to stay - help!! A houseful - 5 adults and 4 children in total. Summer (I now it's late) Ball tomorrow night so that should be fun.
