blossoming · 08/09/2010 21:43

I have just been joined in shredding by the biggest, furriest, scariest spider ever. Made it v difficult to do the floor exercises.
Wonder what my third animal related encounter will be?

dexter73 · 08/09/2010 21:45

mm- that is great news about your dad. It must be a huge relief.

hf128219 · 08/09/2010 21:47

Fritzi Like the use of the suitcase Grin

Bloss Hopefully not a rodent!!

RedBlueRed · 08/09/2010 21:48

I read that article too thirstymerc, most of mine would be workwear too so:

1)Black bootleg jeans style trousers (last season but they go with everything)
2)Navy Pinstrip tailored trousers
3)Charcoal pencil skirt
4)Grey cowl neck sweater
5)Grey blouse with tiny flowers and birds design
6)Pink/grey/blue splodgy design smart top (covers a multitude, goes with everything)
7)Black leopard print sole courts from matalan. Cheap and cheerful.
8)Taupe and cream drapey top.
9)Indigo blue straight leg jeans
10)DottyP nude cage shoes. they are reduced now!

Voila. Would require the washing machine on every other night but could be done!

RedBlueRed · 08/09/2010 23:52

MM great news re DDad and DP. Hope the Champers hit the spot.

rufus101 · 08/09/2010 23:54

MM that is such fantastic news about your Dad. Get those bubbles into you!

I couldn't do 10 pieces for a month. Maybe 2 weeks.

Indigo skinny jeans.
Teal blue long wrap cardi.
Brown riding boots.
Black patent courts.
Black pencil skirt.
Grey theory tee. (I have in a multitude of colours)
Black shift style dress.
All saints tee.
Black pinstriped suit.
White shirt.

Think I'd go mad. But I know what you mean about loving your maternity wardrobe for the very same reason! Couldn't wait to get more options though by the end, but it did help for work.

Did anyone watch series 4 of Madmen tonight? I love that programme. The clothes, the dialogue, Jon Hamm (sigh)...Can't wait till next Wenesday! DH missed it, so he'll be really disappointed. Can't skyplus BBC4 which is a pain. He's still stuck at work!

rufus101 · 08/09/2010 23:55

I see I completely forgot about a coat/jacket! Do they count in the 10?!

bunnymother · 09/09/2010 07:24

MM - congratulations!!! That is wonderful news about your dad. You can now exhale and relax a bit.

Nancy - damn, you recommend a medium in WC robe? Well, have ordered small so will just have to see. It can be exchanged.

MarshaBrady · 09/09/2010 07:29

Yes Rufus re Madmen. I adore it. I love the way don is with the clients. Dh is CD, I laugh and call him don draper. Favourite show.

MM great news re your father, fab. Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 09/09/2010 08:13

I love, love, love MadMen! Was a bit disappointed with Season 2 but loved Season 3 again. And now we have to wait until next season will be available on DVD .

Shock and Grin at big spider shredding with blossoming!

notyummy · 09/09/2010 08:28

Morning ladies.

Well, am wearing new plain black maxi today, belted with wedges and a scarf. Was feeling fairly pleased with myself and my new purchase...until I discovered 2 big holes in the sleeve! Have no choice but to keep on wearing it, but will obviously have to go back - at least I still have receipt. Have pushed sleeves up in an effort to make holes look smaller.

Blossoming was terrified to hear of large spider joining you. I would probably have had to suspend exercise until I had managed to get rid - really not keen on spiders other than teeny weeny ones - although working hard not to pass fears on to DD.

I also love Mad Men - have sky plussed it (was wondering why you can't sky plus BBC 4 ??) and will watch it when parents have gone home. DH not as keen, but as he is away 5 nights a week for some considerable time, that won't be a problem! Don Draper is one of my TV treats (along with Dexter Morgan - is a really, really wrong to fancy a serial killer?!)

Second afternoon at school for DD today. My mum said she was absolutely fine yesterday. Just very keen to get started 'properly'.

Right, off to do some work. This Experian report on what parts of the UK are going to fall apart due to public sector spending cuts (current lead on BBC News) is causing me all sorts of grief....

Have a good day all.

Quick boots vote.

Do you prefer these babies or these in black. I am torn by the fleecy bit. I like the idea of the warmth but I have Uggs for those days and can always add sheepskin insole. Not sure.

notyummy · 09/09/2010 09:13

Prefer the first pair MM.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/09/2010 09:27

monkeysmama If you don't need extrawarm boots I would choose the Mentor boots and add sheepskin sole on really cold days.

notyummy glad DD is enjoying school. Sorry about stress at work...

My sister and her DCs are arriving today. Have just placed huge Zara order for my nephew (9) which will hopefully be express-delivered by tomorrow or Sat.
Our fridge is almost empty so I'd better get going and buy some groceries too. Might be important to a 9 year-old than new clothes Grin.

monkeysmama · 09/09/2010 09:27

Thanks Yummy, I like them a lot too.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/09/2010 09:27

more important.... sorry

monkeysmama · 09/09/2010 09:36

Cheers Fritzi They are nice aren't they?

blossoming · 09/09/2010 09:54

The problem with the spider is that I didn't get rid of it. Which means it will still be there scuttling about tonight.
I need to get one of those spider catcher things from Lakeland don't I and be strong and take control.

Truth is the reason I have such a phobia is that huge black ones were everywhere when I was growing up next door, at this time of year. And my mum's on holiday so she's no help!

Speaking of which, fritzi, it was so cold and wet for them the other night they ended up in a bar (not bar people) watching the Germany match!

VerityBrulee · 09/09/2010 10:46

MM that's is fantastic news about your dad, you must feel so relieved. I like the first pair of boots.

NY glad dd is enjoying school, It's such a mix of emotions before they start and such a relief when they actually want to go to school. Ds2 had a dreadful reception year at school due to a horrible teacher, it was sheer hell, he cried every morning. In the end we moved him and he loves school now, but even thinking about it is stressing me out!

Bloss massive spiders here at the moment, I keep hoovering them up. Dd wonders if they are all having a party in the hoover bag!

Anya coat seems to be sold out everywhere. It's my own fault, I was on the waiting list and had the chance to buy on Friday, but procrastinated for too long. Trying to console myself with thought that it wouldn't me warm enough Hmm

carciofi · 09/09/2010 10:57

MM, great news about your dad. I prefer the first pair.

I have been waiting in for my Houlihans and just tracked the order to see that they said they tried to deliver and left a card ... no, they didn't! The driver can't come back until tomorrow. Maybe it is a sign.

Will have to think about the 10 items, not sure I could do it!

Blossoming, is the Barbour cameron warm enough for winter, do you think, or more of an autumn/spring coat/.

blossoming · 09/09/2010 11:16

I'd say definitely warm enough for winter carciofi, I was quite hot trying it on the other day. It's waxed cotton like the farmers wear all year.
When I get a chance I will link two gorgeous wool coats from the Barbour catalogue. One is a gorgeous tweed. Perfect if you wear hats. Anyone see the m&s advert in the times today? Dannii Minogue looking cozy in a peaked hat.

Did some research earlier, kikkoman soy sauce has no sugar; Abel & Cole do a sugar free mayonnaise (but millions of calories), but I can forget ketchup! Making mackerel fish cakes for lunch today.

carciofi · 09/09/2010 11:24

Verity, hopefully they will get it in stock again. I really like it too but think the Cameron would be a better buy for me.

The driver circled back and while I like the Houlihans, I don't love them enough for the price and they are too short on me to wear in the winter. These are jeggings and looked awful on. So I've saved myself a fortune. :)

Blossoming, lunch sounds delicious, what time? Wink

blossoming · 09/09/2010 12:03

Served with brown rice and spinach and a dollop of jamie's tomato and chilli pesto!!
The size 12 cameron just arrived. Will report later.

blossoming · 09/09/2010 13:24

this is the lovely tweed coat, and this in purple caught my eye too.

The smaller size Cameron is a keeper! Really pleased.

bunnymother · 09/09/2010 13:32

Oooh, please can I have either of these cashmere coats?

Re 10 items, well, that's just asking me to describe what I can currently fit into Grin. Not terribly fun when its an enforced situation... Wink
