Think I know what you mean EIE - but I love that shade of blue (can't resist!) and also tulip cut usually flattering for me. Returns easy with Very anyway so not much to lose either way!

Will report back on black one Yangy

Plum your blog has made me smile...and dig out my red lippy! Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 20/09/2010 08:11

plum congrats on your blog! Will make second cup of tea and read pronto.

cake also managed to catch up on your blog. Can just repeat what esher said about your legs. The 7jeans will be baggy (and probably too short!). And that gilet is divine!

notyummy · 20/09/2010 08:27

plum and LTEC - Enjoyed both blogs. Many thanks ladies!

Lovely morning here - almost enjoyed the early morning drive to work. Quite a few falling leaves though!

Went on a family bike ride yesterday for the first time with new trailgater thing (piece of kit that connects DDs bike to the back of DHs.) She was pedalling away, but her front wheel was off the ground so it made no difference! Can thoroughly recommend - obviously if you have 2 or more, then you would have to put younger one on a seat on the back of your bike - or get one of those pull along things!

Good luck with the nanny search Bunny. I also used bio oil for the stretch marks and didn't get any. I do remember reading though that whether you get them or not is partially genetic (i.e if your mum did, you are much more likely) and also, interestingly, there is a LOT of evidence to show that the younger you are when pregnant, the more likely you are to get stretch marks. Sounds odd, but does fit in with the fact that I got stretch marks on my hips and thighs as a young teenager after a growth spurt/eating far too much junk food!

my goodness NY - finally a justification for having children later! I can't believe it. Having said that my tummy is stretch mark free (just the breasts that have suffered)...so maybe it is true.

Tracey love the skirt - I'm on the hunt too for similar. Only problem is they all seem to be terribly short. I am in lust with this [[http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/96654 chloe one)...but it's obviously too expensive. Urghh.

blossoming · 20/09/2010 11:16

Right, if I cut out butter and cheese, can I lose 2lb by Saturday?

FritziGreenEyes · 20/09/2010 11:22

Depends on how much butter and cheese you consume normally Grin. Sorry I'm not a great help. Where are our nutrition experts? Notyummy?

notyummy · 20/09/2010 11:29

Blossoming - to lose a pound you have to 'lose' roughly 3500 calories. So, if you eat rough 14000 a week (2000 x 7), then you would have to eat 25% less - if you want to lose 2 lbs, then 50% less calories than you usually do.

There is always the exercise component as well. So, you could eat 25% less calories, and exercise 3500 calories away you should lose 2lbs, but that is a lot of exercise (about 28 miles of running I think....)

Not sure the butter and cheese thing is going to crack it?!

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 20/09/2010 11:38

bloss - from my experience if you cut out the carbs for two or three days you could do it!

notyummy · 20/09/2010 11:41

Would agree with Hells - the carbs thing does work. Can feel hard at first though!

Just wanted to say hi.

We had a great holiday and dd loved the playground at the castle so thanks for the tip, Blossoming. DH told me that I had a fine collection of dresses and I looked very French (think it was a compliment!).

Plum and LTEC, I love the blogs. Very funny about the model, LTEC!

I think Lily and Lionel should pay me commission. :)

Bunny, how annoying about the nanny but I agree it is better to find out now.

Rufus, are you by any chance going to a 40th birthday party in HYC on Sat night? I am going back to Dublin for it. Am sure we must know people in common!

I am in the mood for a little autumn shopping. I still like the Barbour Cameron but need to ebay a few things because I have ordered this navy coat for DD. I also like this. I am going to exchange my WC poncho for this navy cardigan. I do like the Boden cardigan, Esher.

DD is shouting for attention so chat later!

LetThemEatCake · 20/09/2010 11:50

Am no nutrition expert but pretty well versed in rapid weight loss Grin
Curb curfew will do the job ime. None after brekkie best, or none after 2pm if that seems too tough

blossoming · 20/09/2010 11:58

Thanks girls. Mr Dukan reckons I should be 6lbs lighter than my plateau weight. I eat really well, but I eat real food, and I like a cheese sandwich at 4pm. You see in France, I didn't buy any butter, but French bread doesn't need it whereas brown wholemeal does.
And I know it's fine in London (DH just texted from Greenwich) but it's miserable and drizzly here, and I do like a slice of toast with butter. Occasionally. Maybe that's why I'm on a plateau. I can't think of anything else that is preventing me from further weight loss. (Bloss envisaging horrified faces at the mention of above!!)

Welcome back carciofi, glad you had a great time.

notyummy · 20/09/2010 12:03

Blossoming - Difficult isn't it? If you don't actually need to lose weight, and you aren't actually putting any on, then there's an arguement in leaving well alone....but I know that is not always the case!

(Which is which I have decided that I must have no higher body fat % then 23% after doing some research on internet yesterday...!)

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 20/09/2010 12:07

bloss - as I've been away so long not sure if you've tried Dukan at all but once you've passed the attack phase you are allowed some wholemeal bread.

I know he rants on about butter & olive oil but I ignore that and have it anyway and I've still lost the weight (though probably slower than if I'd been strict).

Plum - meant to say I love your blog. It's such a treat to have the two that we have now. And totally agree all on Ms Cake's legs. super long and super skinny. Supermoggle take note.

blossoming · 20/09/2010 12:10

What are we like, notyummy? Dh thinks I look amazing, I'm shredding every day, back in a 12, but still not satisfied!

blossoming · 20/09/2010 12:15

hells, I just got the dukan books. I'm seriously considering it.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 12:16

Bloss no carbs works.

And later on with Dukan it's very easy.

LetThemEatCake · 20/09/2010 12:30

Yes, none at all will deffo do the job but your mood may be too foul to make it worthwhile!!

mrsjuan · 20/09/2010 12:31

LTEC - so would porridge for breakfast then no carbs for the rest of the day work? And do vegetables class as carbs?

PlumSykes · 20/09/2010 12:32

That you all so much for your sweetness about my blog. Is fun to do, and shall see how she goes.

Bloss, I am no expert at all on weight loss, but from my experience (and I think we have similar diets, generally) the only way to lose, say 2lb, but the weekend, would be to ditch carbs completely, or at least bin potatoes, rice, bread, pasta until then. Boring, but it works.

Re Charity Shops, the only ones near me are in a fairly poor area, so all clothes are supermarket brands and fairly well worn. Did manage to get 2 wicker baskets for £1 this weekend, for DD to take in filled with goodies for the Harvest Festival on Wednesday. She thinks she's Red Riding Hood, and has been practising walking slowing to stop the packets falling out.

Bunny, I adored the Clarins Tonic Oil when pg, and didn't get any stretchmarks with either baby. I tried lots of the others-Bio OIl, Mama Mio, Zita West-but the herbal smell of the Clarins oil had me hooked. No idea if it actually worked, obviously, but it stopped me feeling dry and itchy, and was nice to do after a bath.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 12:33

Plum I answered your thread instead Smile. I like it, keep going!

mrsjuan · 20/09/2010 12:35

Oh yes - plum, I liked the blog too - keep it up.
LTEC - Envy at your legs. They must be longer than my entire body!

notyummy · 20/09/2010 12:45

Bloss - if you are doing hardcore 'no carbs', then yes - no veg.... Think LTEC has more experince of the curfew approach so will know re mixing it with porridge etc - I have always done the cutting them completely approach and can testify it works.

Did give me a headache though (which I may have moaned about on here...)
