Hello all!

Cake - come back we neeeeeed you to tell us about your holiday....

OP posts:
bunnymother · 17/09/2010 04:30

Cakey - are you happy w the Baxters? I am wearing them pretty much exclusively this pregnancy, but they are maternity Baxters, so not sure how normal Baxters go. I was planning on trying the Primark skinnies too, but fear by the time I can actually consider non-mat skinnies they won't be available.

Tracey and other Barbour lovers, saw a friend today and she had just bought the Anya Hindmarsh olive jacket (is it Minx?) and it looks fantastic!! As did her washboard stomach - she is 16 weeks pregnant w DC2 - I gasped in pure envy! Admittedly it is the result of much morning sickness, but still, I was v Envy Envy Envy. She wanted my enormous bump because "at least you look pregnant". Yes, that I do! Grin

bunnymother · 17/09/2010 04:54

Bloss - the Spanish Red pashmina is v close to the red I wanted. Can you believe my good luck that a local charity shop had the perfect colour one? Its my fashion fortune.

Does anyone else think this Uniqlo wool coat looks cute (best in light grey me thinks)? And I hope they do these slim fit corduroy trousers next winter - the grey looks good. Am so tempted to buy a pair for me to look forward to...

Went shopping today (actually, its now yesterday) and bought this blue H&M scarf and rich purple ballet flats similar to these in a size up for inevitable foot bloat (sigh). They felt worryingly comfortable (ie foot getting bigger already). Everything else looked comical on me and their maternity range is terrible (dullsville).

Wanted this cute top in blue for DD (she has the pink), but they didn't have her size. these cardigans are an excellent buy for those of you w little DDs. And if grey was her colour I would get DD this chunky cardi too.

Clearly am all about shopping for DD/s at the mo... BTW re the Gap voucher, mine says from 20 Sept onwards, did some of you have vouchers that have worked/are working already?? Not on their website, but they are doing gorgeous black suede boots that I will be buying up.

mrsjuan · 17/09/2010 08:38

Oh cake - I'm so so sorry to hear about your friends' baby. I had been quietly hoping for a miracle for them Sad. Life is so unfair sometimes.

Glad you got some nice bits in h&m bunny - all the children's links go to the same place though Grin Have you got much for the twins yet? Do you think you'll dress them in the same clothes? I don't think I would be able to resist!

The need for a winter coat for DD has caught me a bit unawares. MIL & SIL are great fans of buying in the sales for next year so I have a couple of coats that have been in her wardrobe for ages but as she is so small they are far too big so it will probably be next year before she can wear them. Yesterday saw her running round the park in a beautiful velvet monsoon number (6-12 months!) Me thinks I need something more practical.

NY - shocking stuff in per una - I never set foot on that side of the shop! And 24 maxis Shock

Well done on governor job bloss - definitely a good excuse for more outfits. Hope you're feeling better now.

Glad I'm not the only dukan failure Blush I will join you at Evans Tracey!

I feel the need to confess that I really don't like wedge boots - I wish I did but there's something about the shape of them that jars with me.

bunnymother · 17/09/2010 08:53

MrsJ - oh bummer about H&M links. Quality of website is akin to quality of the merchandise? For DD's winter coat, I get Zara woollen coats and light parkas and the Gap down filled ones. EBay is an excellent place to source these. Sorry but no way am I dressing the twins alike!! But I have taken the brakes off when buying clothes for DD so that there is plenty for the twins Grin. And I just bought a whole lot of Mamas & Papas Petit Newborn and Newborn baby clothes - for DD I only bought 0-3 months, but twins are often small.

notyummy · 17/09/2010 09:34

AH-HA!! I have tracked down said M and S Mad Men/Prada stuff - on a blog!

here

What do we think of the grey print skirt and dress?? I'm not sure I would get much use out of the dress - probably too 'dressy' for work and not enough events to showcase. Skirt on the other hand I could wear to work. But where to buy and when available... ?

Bunny - What in the name of all that is holy are doing posting on here at 5am?? Twins having a v early morning wriggle? So glad someone bought one of the H and M scarves I blethered on about last week - I am may go in and indulge in one soon.

Hf - Nice dress!

Re Evans: when I was out with my mother's group the other week one of the young ones (daisy dukes, longline top, new haircut similar to mine, fabulous snakeskin sky high platforms). So I said, amazing shoes where are they from? And she said, Evans!! Unfortunately I then said, what on earth were you doing in there before realising that surrounding us and as far as the eye could see, were women in head to toe plus sizes. Oops.

I don't know what's wrong with me but I've been nauseous all week. Just like when I've been pregnant with the girls. That is definitely not the case this time but getting me down. On the alka seltzer this morning.

DolceeBanana · 17/09/2010 09:41

Just a quick hi to you all and to say how very sorry to hear about your friends little boy Cake....so, so sad and heartbreaking. Those poor people...and poor you. Must be very difficult for you too... Sad Take care all of you ...

hf128219 · 17/09/2010 09:44

NY I wonder if the skirt/dress is part pf the RCA collection but not in yet?

I like them. You could dress the dress down I think.

Bloss That is so funny re Evans! I did a similar thing in the summer. Was chatting to a lady in the ELC. And she was saying how with the hot weather she didn't feel like eating.

I said 'Well, that's a good thing isn't it?' Then realised she was about a size 20. Woops!

Liking the cardie yangymac.

Phew! Well my first day at home whilst DD at school has been productive thus far. I have:

Mowed the grass
weeded
swept outside
tidied the house
sorted all of dds books/coluring books into Oxfam/recycle and keep piles
Cleaned the loos
Ran 8 miles

Still got the hoovering to do just before I pick her up.

Am now going to reward myself with a long lunch with a magazine, a big bowl of tomato and basil soup - and this weeks episode of Mad Men.

notyummy - you guessed it, pregnancy insomnia!! Very annoying. Naturally was really rude to DH this morning as was overtired. Made the oh-to--frequent mid-morning phone call to apologise. He wasn't bothered (hide like a rhino!!), but I was contrite. Again. The only reason I looked in the scarf section was because of your suggestion, NY, so thank you!

yangy - hmm, me thinks you have confused your Blossoms with your Bunnys. Grin Well done on the Uniqlo haul - you are shopping for me!

Bloss - sorry you not feeling well. I prescribe a nice treat and an early night.

Ha ha ha - am grinning due to gaffs from hf and Bloss - they were v funny. But I empathise, I am a serial offender.

blossoming · 17/09/2010 12:31

yangmac, it wasn't me!! Glad you got a good shop though!

Oh, and my embarrassing moment of the day? Mowing the grass, having just got back from my run, with my ipod still on. I may have been mowing in a funky stylee to some Dizzee Rascal tunes (cos I is down the kids, like Hmm) and looked up to find the two workmen landscaping next doors garden peering over the wall and giggling at me.

Well done notyummy. D'you know it was 8C here this morning and raining. Dh kindly put the heating on after saying earlier we could wait till November!
Early night for sure bunny with my 7hr round trip to London tomorrow. Better be feeling better than this!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/09/2010 13:04

blossoming hope you'll feel better for your trip to London tomorrow!

Just got the Sara Berman messenger bag delivered but I have to send it back. It is huge and really heavy and the colour is more khaki than grey. I'm keeping this scarf and try not to think about the wasted delivery charge. I was so convinced that bag would be great. The search continues.

notyummy and I thought my morning was busy as I have cleared out all my files and books in the office, been to IKEA and to the post office. I admire your energy!

mrsjuan · 17/09/2010 13:09

NY - you have made me feel wildly inadequate with that list of jobs!
Have approx 1 hour left of DD's nap so will attempt to tidy downstairs, hang washing out, mop kitchen & hoover.
