Hello all!

Cake - come back we neeeeeed you to tell us about your holiday....

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 08:36

Morning all! Thread has been busy. Trying to catch up while I'm waiting for builders who were supposed to be here an hour ago... Love all your boot and coat links. Will click and bookmark later!

zembo fantastic news! Sounds like you had a really happy Eid with your family. My sister and her DH are also considering DC3. Another baby in the family would be so great.

cake glad you enjoyed Italy! I'm not on FB but can imagine that you looked svelte and stylish in your capsule wardrobe.

blossoming your night out sounds great. The rare opportunity that I can go dancing and drinking with people I love makes me feel very carefree and young. Hope your parents are still on holiday as the weather was lovely at the weekend.

monkeysmama the wedding sounds fun too. Still cringing and laughing at the same time at your late night encounter with MIL Grin. Have a fab holiday!

hells what did you wear for the NAP McQueen event?

everything I'm tempted to get a silk blouse from Pure. Saw on another thread that there is a 25% discount! Second Zara for DH. Banana Republic also has some nice stuff in menswear.

ollie your weekend sounds busy. Did you enjoy your meal with DH? Outfit details please Smile.

dolcee house hunting is exhausting. I'm sure you'll find your dream house at the right price soon. I thought sellers had to slash prices everywhere? Even Kylie!

Hope you enjoyed the late summer ball hf.

Glad you like the Hobbs boots roary. Didn't mean to put you off with my comments. They are just not for me. But I love that WC dress!!!

vino good luck with your exams!

verity I'm also drooling over the I love gorgeous collection for A/W. DD was wearing a dress from the summer sale yesterday and the style just suits her so well. Will declutter today too!

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 09:22

Have just found a pair of 7FAM Roxannes size 29 in my cupboard which have never fitted properly. Only worn once. Does anyone here want them?

OllieWollieWoo · 13/09/2010 09:28

Morning all!

MM - OMG! You poor thing! Hope you have a lovely holiday which helps to delete the memory!
Vino - lots of luck with your exams. 4 hours is very tough.

Had a nice weekend. Meal with DH was lovely - he loved the restaurant too. Cycling home (how Dutch!) I had a craving for ice cream so stopped off at McDonalds for a Mcflurry - classy! As we were on the bikes, I just wore skinnies, cream blouse a la Eva Longaria and a nice fitted blue jacket a bit like the second one on this link DM link just for Blossoming!!.

Had to drive my friends husband and children to the airport yesterday - her Mum's prognosis is very poor so they have gone to say goodbye - very sad. DH then took me and the kids to the beach for a run around (DS's, not me) and hot chocolate which was just what I needed - blew all the blues away seeing DS2 play chase the waves - and getting soaked!

Has anyone seen any nice cocktail dresses around - that are not black? Since having my colours done, I'm off black and now don't really want to wear the black one shouldered strapless dress I had got for the black tie party of the wedding we have in a few weeks. Would like something in either grey/blue/taupe (summer colours), prefer non prints and knee length. Any fashion fairies out there with suggestions???

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 09:45

Bloss that sounds like a good night! My kind of good night!
Good luck today in exams .Vino, knock em dead.

DolceeBanana · 13/09/2010 10:28

Hellooooo everyone! Lovely weekend...wedding fab although drank too much so bad head and tiredness yesterday! Still tired today!

DS at school this morning, so at home with DD's....Baby (11 months) saying quite a few words now including cat, and carrott!!! She is a little performer!

Zembo - so lovely to hear the news...all the very best...hope it happens very soon ! Awwww.....I am still broody when I hear things like this....but 3, I think, is enough...never say never, eh? How old are you, if it's not too rude a question...I assumed you were early 30's....?

Bloss - glad you had a good time!

It's autumnal and chilly so wearing socks as have suede ankle boots on with skinny bikers...ooh and wore new Barbour Kate on school run (literally 'run', as DD needed loo at last minte as we were going out of door!!!)...love it!

Hope the sun is shining with some of you guys today!

blossoming · 13/09/2010 10:30

Morning girls! Feel a bit better today but still contemplating 'never again'!! 40 looming, I've also been nominated to be governor at dc's school. Time for sensible 'only with meals' drinking I think.

Oh poor monkeysmama, can you imagine!! Hope she's having a great time.

Dc1 nominated dh in the end for Toy Story 3, and I was left decluttering the utility room and taking dd out for a walk. I love clearing. So last week I did the playroom too, definitely looking better here. We have a storage area in the office and dh's wardrobe is quite appalling. But I doubt whether he'll let me loose there!
Oh btw, he said he'd like a new coat for (whispers) christmas, he went through the catalogues and has gone for a Barbour too!

Thanks for the link ollie, and fritzi, parents have moved to the guesthouse on the vineyard now and phoned last night slightly tipsy!

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 10:35

In the spirit of creating fashion karma they're yours cake Grin! Jeans have slightly distressed look, i.e. mid blue wash (not dark indigo) and very light fraying at some seams. If you still want them email me your address at fashionfairy #at# gmx #dot# net.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 10:46

Have decided to give my favourite summer clothes a little farewell before putting them into storage and getting all the winter stuff out. So today I'm wearing stripey maxi dress with blue short-sleeved Odd Molly wool jumper, denim jacket and pink linen pashmina.

notyummy · 13/09/2010 11:03

Can't get on to mumsnet at work. Can the IT geeks have blocked me? Shock Resorted to iPhone so can't look at no doubt gorgeous dress links.

Glad you are feeling better Blossoming - nothing wrong with the ocassional blowout I think! Sounded like a great night.

DH confirmed as babysitter for 16th Oct!

blossoming · 13/09/2010 11:13

vino, all the best for your exams.

dolcee, my dd is 11 months tomorrow and her only word is dadadadadadad. Charming.

blossoming · 13/09/2010 11:28

Terrible news notyummy, some lovely links there fritzi.

Anyone able to sum up their style in 3 words (as discussed in Red magazine?) difficult, no?

Also from my magazine digest, these tips from Good Food:
'avoid food products containing ingredients no ordinary human would keep in the pantry'
'eat only food that will eventually rot'
'don't eat anything your great grandmother wouldn't recognize as food' so, 'eat real rather than processed food'.

Great news re meet up 'notyummy'. How many are in?

notyummy · 13/09/2010 11:37

Blossoming- I am sure that the large piece of shortbread I just ate fits all three of those top tips Grin

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 12:03

Dukanites have you seen this? Recipes look good I think.

FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 12:37

Anyone needs a Tommy Hilfiger checked shirt in 10? Got this in dark purple and white check from last season. It doesn't fit and isn't really me.

mrsjuan · 13/09/2010 12:44

Fritzi - I love you! Dukan cakes Shock Grin. I could be persuaded to try again Smile

Bloss - sounds like you had a well deserved wild night - glad you're feeling better

NY - good news re meet up - bad news re blocking mn at work. Thought of your DD swimming without armbands this morning when I took DD swimming - tried her with armbands for the first time (I usually just carry her and throw her about a bit) and she quite enjoyed bobbing around with less help. I think she swallowed half the pool though.

mm- oh the shame Shock Hope you can manage to erase it from your memory soon.

Are other non londoners staying over after meet up or training it back?

Vin - good luck in your exams - I'm sure you'll breeze though them.

Old timers on this thread may remember that DH applied for a job a while ago that would mean we could move back down south nearer my parents. He didn't get that one but is now applying for another one. Not getting my hope up just yet but pleased that he is still amenable to the option of moving. Keeping my fingers crossed.

blossoming · 13/09/2010 12:51

I am really tempted again now fritzi. have you maintained your weight notyummy?

blossoming · 13/09/2010 12:56

I'll be going home after meet up mrsjuan. Whereabouts do you live? I thought you were north west?

notyummy · 13/09/2010 13:01

MrsJ - fingers crossed for your DH. Funny you should ask that about the meet-up, as I was having that discussion with DH. I think (from memory) that most are training it back. DH was bemused that I planned to get the train back: 'Stay over - drink wine - have a lie-in'...was his advice. Bless! Will have a think.

Blossoming - Mixed picture on the weight. I initially dropped a LOT in 3 1/2 days (4 kilos Shock). However, a little bit of that has returned. I never actually wanted to lose that much (2/3 kilos fine by me.) I think overall I am probably about 2 1/2 kilos or 5 lbs lighter - which was roughly where I was at the beginning of August, before a ridiculously social month and a half was responsible for me, erm, 'growing' slightly. TBH, it did exactly what I wanted, which was to allow me to return to where I am usually am in BMI terms (around 21.7.) I can't seem to stay lighter than that without an unhealthy amount of restrictions, and not being able to eat the same as the rest of the family (which is what I am trying to avoid to spare passing on my former 'issues' to DD), so I guess that what my weight is supposed to be.

OP posts:
notyummy · 13/09/2010 13:03

Fritzi - What kind of 10 is the Tommy shirt? Sounds stupid - but is it a small/large 10??

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 13/09/2010 13:12

notyummy I'd say it is a generous 10. Can measure if you want to.
