Morning everyone! I am 16 weeks pregnant tomorrow. Have been cutting down for weeks and today I broke all my fags into teeny weeny piece, slapped a patch on and am ready!
Today is the day! I'm excited about becoming a non smoker.
Absolu no reason for this thread except to talk to others.Grin

Morning four and well done you!
I feel lucky that I have up a couple of months before I got pregnant as imagine you feel a bit more pressure when already pregnant!
How've you been feeling while cutting down?

AuditAngel · 09/02/2015 08:34

Congratulations. Are you using NHS stop smoking services? I only ask because I think you get some stuff free instead of paying for it.

iwantgin · 09/02/2015 08:36

Brilliant! ! You won't regret it.

Ex smoker here.

FourAndDone · 09/02/2015 08:40

Good morning did and audit!
I felt fine when cutting down. Really didnt bother me, although I did enjoy them more!Blush
Yes I am using bhs stop smoking. They will come and visit me tomorrow morning and then 3days later to see how I'm doing. There very supportive and non judgemental.
I am under more pressure, however it helps feel very ashamed smoking knowing there's a baby in there and a little bump beginning to show.
I feeling positive. Will go and get some fresh (real fresh) air later with dc.Smile

Day two

Still going strong, had a visit from stop smoking nurse and a nice chat. She will see me again on Thursday.
I'm finding when I have a craving a nice cold bottle of water is doing wonders!Grin

Well done for keeping at it four! You're doing really well Grin

iwantgin · 11/02/2015 22:33

How is it going Four ?

FourAndDone · 12/02/2015 07:35

Morning! Everything is going great.
Starting day four today and still very positive.

I actually want to quit for my children, for the baby inside me, for my husband and for me!
I think that keeping that in mind is making everything so much easier.

Funnily enough I don't seem to be eating anymore or snacking etc. I think this is because iv always associated eating with smoking. So rather than trying to put up with cravings all day after bouts of snacking I'm just sticking to normal meals and not overeating.
Sorry for the ramble not fully awake yet!Grin

Another thing that helps a number of people is to put aside (preferably in cash) the money you haven't spent on fags e.g. every time you would have bought some put the price away in a jar. Seeing the money mount up is really nice, and because it's extra money you can spend at least part of it on a treat for yourself Smile

WenstonMum · 12/02/2015 09:05

Smart move! But if I were preparing to have a baby, I would stop it months before a pregnant!

Floundering · 12/02/2015 09:06

Congratulations on giving up and on the pregnancy !

FourAndDone · 12/02/2015 09:39

Thank you everyone. Im feeling great!

Wenston that would be what would happen in a perfect world, unfortunately I live in the real world.Smile

I try really hard not to judge. It is very difficult to do.
Though what I have found to make a huge difference this time is that I actually want to quit rather than feeling forced to.
Thank you for the lovely comments I really look forward to reading them!Smile

iwantgin · 12/02/2015 13:33

Good work Four you are doing really well.

You have it with the fact that you really WANT to quit. That's the difference.

FourAndDone · 12/02/2015 22:12

Day 4 almost over.
Cravings are few and far between and I'm thinking of smoking less each day!
To top it off I think I've just felt some flutters from the little one.Smile
