Day 3 and hard without the patch but it keeps falling off and now had to put it in the bin.

Also got quick mist, so battering that today.

Put a plaster over the patch.

I used the losenges tho - brilliant.

Sidge · 10/06/2014 13:15

Wear it on your back, under your bra. Or on your bum under your knickers.

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 13:15

Would it be ok if I put another one on today

Yes, if you have a 24 hour patch just change it 24 hrs after applying the new one. If a 16 hour patch just take it off at bedtime and put the new one on first thing in the morning.

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 14:34

Thank you.

This is going to be tough, but will do it.

Oh god this is so hard, can't seem to motivate my self and my throat is starting to hurt

Not a patch person so can't really help, but just chipping in to say good luck & try to keep at it. Maybe find something to fiddle with to take your mind off things, something a similar size & shape to a fag to hold? I know that won't help the nicotine thing, but could help a bit with the behavioural habit part...

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 10/06/2014 18:58

Weren't you vaping at one point, ICanSee? What happened - did it not work out in some way?

If the quickmist is hurting your throat, what about gum or lozenges, or an inhalator?

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 19:23

Vaping wasn't for me.

Tried loads of different flavours and pens, I just think I wasn't suited to it.

I am now going to stop smoking wales, using the forum and trying to keep busy.

That's a shame. I hope you have better success with the patches and stop smoking services. If you still have the kit, might it be useful for a quick top-up when the patches aren't quite doing it?

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 20:22

I still have the kit, my house is starting to look like a new pin.

For some reason I never fully fathomed, I had less of a reaction/ better adhesion putting patches on buttocks Smile

WaffleWiffle · 10/06/2014 20:30

Good luck OP!

The first 3 days are worse. It will get a lot easier! Focus just of surviving without cigarettes at the moment. A minute or hour at a time if needed. On my first day I sent out hourly texts to my supporters just saying things like "3 hours a non smoker", "18 hours not smoking", "woo hoo, 38 hours" etc etc

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/06/2014 20:50

I think people on my Facebook may get a little tired but who cares

Do it here!

Day 3 is nearly over, massive well done and good luck for day 4 Flowers

ICanSeeTheSun · 11/06/2014 07:36

Day 4, let's do it

OP posts:
PlentyOfPubeGardens · 11/06/2014 08:47

Good luck!

ICanSeeTheSun · 11/06/2014 20:43

Still doing ok.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 11/06/2014 20:45

Yay! Go you! How has today been?

Meh84 · 13/06/2014 20:39

Well done!! :)

It's a month tomorrow since I stopped smoking. I'm using the 25mg Nicorette patches and seem to be doing the trick.

You can do it! Keep going

OohQuack · 15/06/2014 22:59

Have u tried moving where you put the patch? When I had the urge I'd get the spray out and the inquiring minis good luck!

ICanSeeTheSun · 16/06/2014 17:40

Moved the patch and it now sticks all day.

Had a little slip up Friday night, but no more I feel rubbish the next day. Sore throat, chest hair smelled and so did everything else.

All rehashed and feeling a lot more determined.

Got my Stop smoking counsellor soon, if I have a crap score I have my self to blame.

You're doing brilliantly, ICan Flowers One little slip in over a week and you're back on the wagon already! Think of how many you haven't smoked. Good luck for your appointment x

ICanSeeTheSun · 16/06/2014 19:18

Very shocked at my score........ A big fat 0.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 16/06/2014 19:56
