Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Hi Whatho, here's a link to the evod kit from myepack - it's not the best kit in the universe but it's not at all bad and it contains everything you need for a good while except liquid.

Or you could get this iclear 16 kit - the iclear 16 is a really good clearomiser and it's very cheap for what you get. You will need two kits if you buy this one so you have two batteries, although that may be not such a huge issue if you only smoke occasionally.

You will also need some liquid. I usually buy from Premier ecigs, occasionally from Joose Juice. If you can afford to, get a few different flavours as you will probably surprise yourself with what you like. 18mg is a good strength to start with, you can adjust up or down as necessary. The Joose Juice liquids are mixed to order and so will taste better after a few days to let the flavours meld (this is called steeping).

WhatHo · 01/05/2014 09:47

Thanks guys, I'll check those out. I need two batteries because they run down quickly, right? Are we talking iPhone levels of crap or a bit better than that?!

tibbysmum · 01/05/2014 10:29

No cigs for a week, haven't missed them once stunned

Raia · 01/05/2014 11:16

WineTibbysmum! Well done you - I was stunned as well when I stopped smoking, never thought I'd see the day!

WhatHo, one of those little batteries would easily do you an evening's vaping. I was vaping like a woman possessed to begin with and found my 600mAh battery would last about 6-8 hours.

magimedi · 01/05/2014 11:44

Brilliant, Tibbys.

And the other joy is you are unlikely to put on weight.

Thank you! It has been absolutely painless :) I truly feel emancipated!!

MsIngaFewmarbles · 01/05/2014 17:17

It helped hugely :)

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 01/05/2014 18:05

Well done tibbysmum Flowers

WhatHo, no matter how big the battery (mine lasts almost 3 days) it will run out at some point and it's best to have another to use when it's charging. If you are only replacing a few smokes in the evening you will have ample time to charge it during the day though.

Hi all! Hello new vapers

My favourite clearo atm is the iClear 16; it is quite heavy on juice use though. Bottom coils like the GS-H2s that are linked to on the Evangelising threads (and this one I think) get through juice a bit more slowly.

Allergictoironing · 02/05/2014 10:30

Oh my just received a Fasttech order I made on 15 April - that's only 17 days!

OohQuack · 02/05/2014 13:30

:-D I made a fasttech order last week knowing I will be fine without them for a month

StampedLetter · 02/05/2014 16:55

I was just in family bargains with the kids where they spend their pocket money. They had vape sticks and juice on the front counter! Grin if family bargains stock it then it must be becoming very popular!

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/05/2014 09:30

It seems since we got our own topic, we have been chatting much less! :(. I have a bit of vapers tongue, currently trying to sort it with airblast juice and tons of water.

On a positive note though, I have learnt a couple of vape tricks! :o

magimedi · 03/05/2014 09:49

I have a question!

As you all know I vape The Sherlock, 12 strength. Sometimes it has been out of stock, so I buy 6 & 18 strength & mix them half & half, in bottles, not straight into the tank, shake them up & vape away.

For some reason they always taste slightly nicer than 'pure' 12 strength.

I really can not understand why.

Schro What are your vape tricks?

OP posts:
PlentyOfPubeGardens · 03/05/2014 10:08

I'm not sure if we're chatting less or if it's just more spread out over different threads. I'd like to hear more about the tricks too Smile

magi, maybe it's the shaking that makes the difference?

magimedi · 03/05/2014 10:12

Don't think so, Plenty as I have taken to shaking the 'pure' 12 as well.

OP posts:
OohQuack · 03/05/2014 10:33

Just a really daft thought but could it be like suncream? You mix two spfs together and its only the lower that counts? :-D

Id mix it with more 18 than 6 because its clearly not strong enough for whatever reason though.

magimedi · 03/05/2014 11:05

I never knew that about suncream!!!

It's strong enough & tastes even nicer than 'pure' 12 .

I use empty 12 bottles to mix in - I wonder if there's a few drops of the 12 left & therefore it's a wee bit stronger & that's why it tastes better?

I'm not really worried about it - just idle curiosity.

I am a happy vaping viper. Grin

Quitting my e cig tommorow :( sob sob! patches at the ready!!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 03/05/2014 11:39

Why psycho? would you not do better just slowly lowering the strength if you want to cut out nicotine?

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 03/05/2014 11:58

Just the simple vapour in a wine glass, whirling around a d pouring it out, wee tornado on the table. :)

Allergictoironing · 03/05/2014 13:27

I'm with Plenty here Psycho - I can't see there being any point in quitting e-cigs in favour of patches? There are no health benefits to patches, and they cost a fair bit more. It's easier to slowly reduce nicotine intake by mixing strengths of liquids, plus you can just vape a little bit less whereas with a patch you're going to get the same dose 24/7.

MaggieMcGill · 04/05/2014 11:18

Magi I can send you Sherlock when your shop runs out, although if you are enjoying mixing your own then then there is not much point, especially if it tastes better Smile

My mum is now on day 11. No one can actually believe it, she can't either. We were at a wedding on Friday and she was sitting vaping away quite happy at the table [ grin] She has even started commenting on how stinking her partner smells after a Rollie.

Allergictoironing · 04/05/2014 12:00

Congratulations to your mother Maggie Smile.

That's a difference I've noticed about e-cigs vs other quitting methods - you don't seem to get people evangelising about other methods like NRTs or Champix, supporting each other in the same way etc. I do understand that the range of kit and flavours/strengths on the market for e-cigs makes it much easier to have lots of subjects to chat about, which may be an additional reason why it's so good for giving up smoking?
