I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Definitely use the shop until you are confident, a decent vaping shop is invaluable .

Depending on how much you vape, a 650 is likely to last you up to a day. I smoked 30 a day & would kill a 900 mAh in about a day, 1300's last me about a day & a half & the massive 1650 near enough 2 days

0.6 = 6mg of nicotine, which is quite low - in general it is recommended that a 20-a-day smoker should be looking at about 18mg or 1.8% - though if you only smoked a few before that may suit you fine. Again, have a chat with the nice lady at the shop & maybe try some 12mg liquids if you find it isn't enough for you.

The liquid may seem expensive, but a little 10ml bottle at a fiver should last you at least 3-4 days which is vastly less than the equivalent would be in fags! That's another thing that you should be able to get on-line a bit cheaper once you're confident - unless you get a taste for the "boutique" tailor made liquids! (Still cheaper than stinkies by a long way though).

I was smoking 5-7 cigs a day. Yesterday I had 3. Today, didn't manage all day at work, had to slope off up the alley for a sneaky fag - but usually I would have 4 during the working day, and only had the 1 today.

I really want to get to the point where I don't want to have any. How long did it take you guys before you ditched the fags altogether?

Everyone is different Animals. Some pick up an e-cig & never have another cigarette from that day. I "dual fuelled" with a cigalike for over 6 months, then went from 15 to 2 overnight when I got a decent battery & tank system, then stuck there for about 3 months before losing those last 2 fags.

You may want to try looking at your vaping "pattern". With cigarettes people light up then smoke the whole thing in one go, but with vaping most people end up vaping much more frequently but much less each time. So whereas you may have taken about 15-20 puffs of the fag, try about 4-5 drags of the e-cig then again a bit later - nicotine is absorbed differently and at a slower rate with e-cigs.

Animals, you're doing great! It might be an idea to get higher strength liquid though. 6mg is very low.

It looked like very flimsy wire, all wonky and not many turns and there wasn't much wick and it looked a bit frayed. I just looked at it and thought 'I could do better' (or in this case just replace with a naturevape)

That's interesting about the pattern - I hadn't thought about how many drags you take.

I'm not working tomorrow, so will have a real chance to vape all day - will see if I can work out what feels effective.

I might pop back to the shop for a stronger liquid, just to see what the difference feels like. Will I need to buy another tank, for a different flavour liquid?

If it's a similar-ish flavour you should have no problem just refilling with the new one. Some flavours don't go away easily - menthol, gingerbread and vanilla/custard all tend to linger. You can get rid of those by washing your clearo well and then soaking for a while in a bit of cheap vodka.

If you just have the one tank it's a good idea to get one or two spares anyway.

Lots of us use GS-H2 clearos. They're really cheap so you could buy a few for different flavours. If that link dies, search for klaudo on ebay - there's a constant cat-and-mouse game of listings for vape gear being taken down.

I tend to buy the GS-H2s in a variety of colours, then I colour code what's in them - grape in a purple one, pineapple in a yellow one, apple in the green etc. That way I can have a number of different flavours on the go & swap between them at will

Aargh, just calculated mine. It's not quite a year for me (and I'm still dual fuelling a little bit), but I have not smoked over 15000 cigarettes!!!!! I can't believe it . How much money was I throwing away?? I don't even want to think about it.

I'm new to vaping and just happened to see this thread pop up in active last night. I'll be honest I haven't read the whole thing as it's huge!

A bit about me - I've smoked for about 18 years and I recently celebrated a big birthday, I promised my DC I'd stop on said birthday so I started vaping on Wednesday when my kit arrived in the post. I've only had one rollie since, on Wednesday eve and I didn't smoke it all. I bought an e-smart kit in purple, it's rather pretty. I'm still craving the real thing but I've managed to do a whole day yesterday despite having tobacco in the house I'm counting today as day 3 anyway!

I've decided I need some extra motivation so I've promised myself if I can make the whole weekend without smoking a real fag I'm going to treat myself to some new bargainous £16.99 boots on Monday morning.

So far I've not smoked about 30 rollies! Wooo! that looks so pathetic next to the thousands you lot haven't smoked

Dammit I'm having a bad time with batteries! As I mentioned in another thread, my nice blood red Ego C twist is playing up; useable, but not to be trusted so now in the emergency spares drawer. So I got myself a nice Spinner 2 as a replacement.

Then my old Rainbow spinner died completely ( it was getting on a bit) so I bought a new purple spinner off an e-bay seller with very good feedback (over 99%) and it's CRAP. Keeps saying the battery is charged after only an hour or so, and I have to take it off charge & put it back on again then it starts to charge again. After doing this about 4 times it SHOULD be charged, and it does give a green light on the charger however I adjust it. It then lasts for about 2 hours of vaping before it dies. And it doesn't flash when the battery is nearly out oh no - it just dies completely.

Returns process started, reckon this is a shitty clone , and will have to get another one from somewhere else

Well done, chocolate - don't worry about the odd rollie - what we call "dual-fuellling- most of smoked & vaped for a couple of weeks before switching over to 100% vaping.

It's particularly hard after a not to just smoke but I'm actually trying to quit with the vapour as an aid.

How much liquid does everyone go through in a day? I've had about 1ml of 11% stuff in two and a half days.
