My partners little girl is 4 my daughters are 5 &6 , they are all like little besties and have a great relationship, right now we have my partners 4 year old every other weekend, currently they share a room my girls have bunk beds and the youngest girl has a proncsss blow up bed. We are moving soon into a 3 bed so my girls have their own room, however I want my partners little girl to feel like she has her own real bed but also I am conscious of space , does anyone have any ideas ? I didnt want to get two single beds as it’s only every over weekend and stays I was worried about spade We don’t want another bunk bed, we were thinking maybe a day bed with a pull out trunk for when she stays, I just wondered what you do for those of you who already have little ones that need to share thank you in advance I just want her to feel really welcome like this is her home xx

Unless you can alternatively afford a four bedroomed house it’s going to be a very long time until your daughters each have their own room.

I hope your partner has thought this through? God forbid anything should happen to his daughter’s mother, but slipping on ice, appendicitis, a car accident, or a virus could easily upturn the current situation overnight, temporarily.

There is an excellent Ikea wooden daybed/sofa with deep drawers. It can even become a double bed. It is good looking and useful.

This is with 2 mattresses so it can be a double bed. It would cost less with one. The drawers have plenty of space and slide well. This design is genius (and there are copies). You can often get it on eBay /gum tree. I highly recommend it. It looks pretty classic too and will fit with mist decors/periods.

She will always remember she was initially on a blow up bed. Poor kid.

so this time it needs to be permanent - her dad needs to make space for his child in a house that I assume is equally his?

a trundle bed is for occasional sleepovers. I had one in my room growing up. It isn’t for a child who lives in that home (albeit not full time).

your daughters need to understand they don’t each have their own room. The girls all get on now - that could change in a few years. I remember fighting with my sister every time my gran came to stay - we hated sharing a room. Best friends now!

Bunk beds - a permanent bed that belongs to the third child in the house. This little girls dad put her on a blow up bed! He needs to step up now.

do your girls go to their dad’s?
